Pamplemousse Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Rohl would get us up, I think a lot of managers would easily, but Cooper has experience of keeping a team up which is what we need. And look how bad Leicester have been since they got rid of him. 9

Golactico Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Get Dyche in now. Track record of promotion and available. Looking forward to laughably deluded 'we're better than bloody Dyche' style comments. 4

Hatch Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Listen. We can still beat Ipswich and Leicester on points. and if Man City get deducted a billion points we stay up glorious times .

Convict Colony Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Ok aside from Rohl, Cooper, Dyce who else will want this prestigous appointment ?
Mr Saints Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Despite the dirty filthy skate connections we should absolutely consider Gary O’Neil IMO. 1

None of them want to stay, fucking disgrace and our Nods clap them. Pretty poor squad, but other poor squads like Luton, Blackpool, Sheffield Utd, fucking put up more of a fight. Going down isn’t a disgrace, going down by Easter with 10 points on the board fucking is. Fucking soft arsed bottlers, standing ovation, my fucking arse….Lets see how many of the cunts want to stay, my monies on a big fat fucking zero. One thing for sure, I won’t be clapping those wankers next Saturday….. It was all a bit weird. The whole team came over and started clapping at us and they wouldn't go away. A few gave their shirts to kids which is always a good touch, but you did think what are they doing? I did laugh, though, at the nods who waited for them to start walking away and then shouted 'you're not fit to wear the shirt'. 1

LeBizzier69 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Reset coming, clear out of players, excitement for the season ahead. Sounds a bit like when we last went down.....at least this season it was unavoidable due to lack of real quality where needed, unlike last time when we were mismanaged (in my opinion) into relegation. A decent manager incoming and all will be forgotten. We've been the laughing stock so many times over the last 30 years that i frankly couldn't care less about the "earliest relegation" tag. Bring on next season. It'll all be fine in the end.....or is this the beer talking.
Appy Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I just want a manager who tries to win games and has the ability to adapt his formation, selection and system to the actual game we’re playing, is that too much to ask? A side note, the standing ovation at full time is one of the weirdest things I’ve been witness to. 2

Stripey McStripe Shirt Posted April 6 Posted April 6 This is the 4th relegation I've endured since becoming a Saints fan. The others all hurt. This one I don't really feel anything. Disappointment? Nope. Anger? Nope. Sadness? Nope. Just indifference. Maybe it's because we've known for months. Maybe it's because I'm older. Maybe I'm just a shit fan. Who cares. 8

Absolutely pointless comparing him to four managers I don’t particularly want next season either but no, the man who got sacked by Everton after failing to score in 8 of his last 10 games is not the man I can’t wait to see leading us into next season. 4

That's of course a valid opinion. My only point is that if you're talking about 'better people at the club', Id say Dyche fits that description for the most important role in the club, even if he's not the 'ideal' manager we could have (who, I for one, do not have a clue might be).
Sarnia Cherie Posted April 6 Posted April 6 7 hours ago, OttawaSaint said: It's my personal history so I can say what I like. I feel that I had more connection with all other Saints teams in those 45 years, even the relegated ones. I don't give a fuck about Sheff Wed, Boro, QPR etc. I personally feel this is my lowest ebb. That's not arrogant at all. I don't exprct success but I do demand a modicum of capability that they do indeed know what they are doing and put in the effort required. I wrote a very similar post a few months ago. It's 50 years for me and this season is the worst I can remember and there's a fairly long list to choose from. I had a reply much like the one you have had telling me the time we were nearing admin was worse but it wasn't for me. Yes, it was tough but I had a glimmer of hope that something would come along to save us, which it did. I haven't a shred of optimism left anymore. SR have managed to find 4 lousy managers on the trot and their transfer dealings leave a lot to be desired so why should I feel a sudden wave of confidence that this summer's transfer window will be any different. I'm with you on this one and I daresay we are not alone! 9

I'm with you on this one and I daresay we are not alone! Yeah, agree this is the worst for me. Sheer incompetency at every level. When we went down before I felt sympathy as we had no money and it was a shit show. The players were limited but mostly tried hard. There was still a soul of a club. Now we are a husk. This time is just embarrassing. A squad full of mercenaries who don’t care at all. I feel no sympathy, just anger at the pathetic shower of shit on display. Managers making mistakes that literally my sons u7’s manager wouldn’t make. Players half arsing about. Then on top, the game itself is gone. VAR has killed it. The club is dead too - any player that is half decent gets sold. So there is no connection to any of these chumps. Fernandes and Ramsdale are literally the only players that I am happy to pay actual money to watch. The rest are absolutely atrocious The gap between the leagues is insurmountable. Just all feels completely pointless. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. We will never compete with these idiots at the helm. All of the above means that I don’t feel like a fan, I feel like an idiot that is being fleeced for cash and getting nothing in return. At least the championship is proper football again, I guess 11
Andrew Watson Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Agree with the above post, up to this season it ruined my weekend when we lost a game. Now I feel totally indifferent, with no connection to this shower of mostly mercenary, lazy, useless bunch of losers. 2
woodsaint1 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Only fitting that we're relegated wearing that horrid pink kit. We deserve it for that alone Already looking forward to the Championship, although I'm not convinced that it'll be as successful as the last time. Rohl just does not inspire me at all and I laugh at some dismissing Dyche. I mean its never going to be Dyche, but we could do a lot worse. 4

ChristopheVAFC Posted April 7 Posted April 7 My friends, In the wake of your official relegation, I wanted to offer you my support and tell you how much I respect you, the fans, for your season. Since the start of the season, thousands of you have turned up at the stadiums despite the difficult season you've had, and you can be proud of yourselves. I understand your sadness and disappointment after yesterday's match, and my thoughts are with you, my friends. This was not your season and Sport Republic will now have to start working on next season and your immediate promotion. There's a lot of work to be done and I hope it goes well for SR and for you, my friends. Well done to you all, once again, really, you're incredible, Saint's fan, it's you, for me, who had a successful season, unlike your players. Don't give up friends, always be proud of your club, continue to support your town and its football club loud and clear. My thoughts are with you! COYS ! 9
Thripp87 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 All this talk about Dyche is interesting. If we had gone for him as the Ralph replacement when he was available we wouldn’t have had either of the 2 Premier league relegations of the last 3 seasons. Any Saints fan who thinks they can turn their nose up at him is as deluded as the weirdos clapping the players at full time yesterday. 7
Pamplemousse Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I reckon Dyche will go back to Burnley when they inevitably sack Parker 1
EssEffCee Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I didn't mind the gallows humour yesterday but the clapping at the end was just plain weird. 2

Spurs were crap we were abysmal just such poor quality and no idea how to mark and get close. The disallowed Spurs goal summed us we played it to Archer it bounced off him that put Matty wrong side, gave away free kick that we allowed free header that went across goal for player to score unmarked . 7 more rubbish performances to endure this season. At least the Guinness after was perfect.

In fact, I find nowadays when going to games, the football has become incidental. It's more for the day out which could explain why our games are nearly always sold out. 1
