I’ll go for Moran as first choice - justification is that iconic goal at the stinkhole in 1984 plus the late winner at Anfield when no-one won there - with Steve Williams a close second.

Went to Steve Mills’s testimonial 1988 https://saintsarchive.com/2022/05/09/steve-mills-testimonial-charity-benefit-match-southampton-28-03-1988/, but before my time as a player, more my Dad’s generation. Heard he was a very promising prospect who was in a car accident and then got cancer very young, poor bloke.

Before my time as well but I remember the charity game capturing the imagination of the fanbase , there's also a really nice bit on the Saints History video about the game

Steve Williams was by far and away the most talented; he would be worth £60M now?

Steve Mills was quality as well sadly never fulfilled

Steve Moran an earlier version of Aguero probably!

All 3 together would make a huge difference to our team if available today!

In no particular order

🎶There's only one🎶 Stevie Williams

Steve Mills (I was another there for his testimonial - fantastic talent who's life was cruelly cut short)

And of course ðŸŽ¶Stevie...🎶 Steve Moran

How can you not? (and lucky to be there and at Anfield)

...and a shout out to (if only for this) Steve De Ridder and for the scenes that followed

The opening section with Steve Mills on the pitch, with Keegan, Bally and Channon and receiving the ovation is really emotional seeing it back, and as an adult a few years older than my Dad was with me on the Milton that night I now fully comprehend why it was for him and so many around us in the crowd that night. Having had family members survive it, lost and currently losing them to it. That must have been a fantastic last memory with Saints and football for him, God bless him.

Brilliant isn't it. Watch those few minutes on the Saints history video from 1hr 16 , with the soundtrack and crowd shots can't help but feel emotional,  great images of The Dell as well
