Football Special Posted March 11 Posted March 11 This is a real 6-pointer in the "how soon will our relegation be confirmed " calculation Would be nice to see a home win or maybe even a point, or a goal Cunha is suspended for them at least. Game close to a sell out, this is the 2nd match this season the club are offering £1 tickets for Junior Members, last one was Brentford at home so fingers crossed for an improvement on that. 1
east-stand-nic Posted March 11 Posted March 11 When will relegation be confirmed? It depends hugely on this result against Wolves. If we lose we will be 17 points behind them, 18 with GD, and with only 27 points left to play for so likely down by the Villa game. If we win we will be only 11/12 points behind with GD. So the relegation could be delayed a game or two later. I think and hope we will win as we need to finish on more than 11 bloody points. 2
Toussaint Posted March 11 Posted March 11 If we set up as we did against Liverpool we have a very good chance. I wouldn’t start Smallbone or Dibbling, I’d bring In Aribo and Archer or Paul to give us a bit more up front. 3

Oops. I’ve just checked our record so far. 23 losses out of 23 games 😩
bangkoksaint Posted March 11 Posted March 11 The Wolves thread.....started three days after the Liverpool result just about sums up the apathy we now all have towards this season. 5
danjosaint Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Ramsdale Kwp Abk Thb Weli Les Aribo Dibling Fernandes Sule Paul Easy 3pts in the bag .......... maybe 1
Sarnia Cherie Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Simon Hooper is the ref for this one. Let's hope he isn't a secret Wolves supporter.

Per the changes I’ve made above, I’d leave Dibling on the bench to run at tired legs later. Score? Who the hell knows…optimistically 2-1. If Juric goes back to 5 defenders we’ll lose 1-2 or 1-3.

Toussaint Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Those of you dropping Manning, he was one of our best players at Liverpool, he has done ok most of this season. He may have his limitations, but he’s a 100% player, and we are very short of those in our squad. Not that I don’t like Welington, but it doesn’t seem right to chop out players after good performances, although it seems we have a propensity for doing that. 5

I agree, he’s not that bad, but what was going on when he and Bednarek both tried to head the same ball? That’s symptomatic of an unsettled team. 12 minutes ago, Toussaint said: I haven’t, it would be nice to end the season regaining a bit of form. die Mannyschaft Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I would say Saints 1-0, but if we continue to make 6 subs a game we have no chance of getting any points. Wolves have a nice run in , 3 easy games. This is on paper an easy game with tge other 6 pointers we have. But we don't play football to WIN but to STOP the game, run clock down, HOLD ball. It's just a terrible coaching and training situation. Saints are a negative playing football team so that the problem we don't set out to win games. I don't understand modern coaches, does any one? Saints 0-0 if 89% possession 1

Apart from going to the Bridge and am awsy day it's another dead rubber. I don't even think trying to get to 12 points is an incentive. How can you kick the ball backwards and hope to score 3 goals to win a game. I hope tickets are cheaper but suspect a huge price rise next season. Surely we can be this negative next season, roll on the new coach . 2

Paul and Aribo to hold down their goalkeeper, and Archer to score (eventually). Don't worry. All 3 will wear Liverpool shirts, so the ref won't mind.

I promised my wife before she died that I would continue to take my grandson to the football but he graduates this year and has a placement near Gloucester so can only come back every few weeks. I have a lot of travelling still to do so I would welcome some more free weekends. 5
SNSUN Posted March 11 Posted March 11 The wheel has spoken. The wheel is always wrong. (Though how close was that to a Saints 3 or more goal victory...) Screen_Recording_20250311_205438_Samsung Internet.mp4 1

Well we've suffered a lot with our club, but I'm sure nothing compared to what you have endured. I hope you've made a full recovery and we all have a much better year starting next August. 35
Mr X Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Will be very surprised if we don't finish on nine points not sure where the next win is going to come from as it seems both the players and the manager have mentally given up and are on the beach Would be nice not to have the embarrassment of beating derbys all time low premier league points
Barton Saint Posted March 12 Posted March 12 This truly is our best chance of a win bearing in mind Cunha is to them what MLT was to us. Keep the 4-2-3-1 formation round pegs in round holes no Bree and Dibling on at 60 minutes. Keep the faith one last hurrah COYR 1
BranfootsLoveChild Posted March 12 Posted March 12 My predicted line up for Wolves Ramsdale Who cares. Earns too much. Useless Doesn't give a shit. Pants. Awful. Too old. Can only pass backwards. Fernandez. Couldn't hit a barn door. Manager: Piss up brewery couldn't. That should get us a result..... 5

Wade Garrett Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Tomorrow we’ll imperiously pass Derby’s 11 points, and I’ll be staying for the lap of honour afterwards. Might give the open-top bus a miss though. 1
