Ted Bates Statue Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Since 7th November 2022 we have a win rate of 10% in the Premier League, having played 50 matches with a record of W5, D7 and L38. I know it's a bit of a taboo to bet against your own team, but they haven't turned up this season so it doesn't count. In lieu of any sort of refund from Southampton, wonder if any of you are prepared to own up to doing this to take the edge off this season. I meant to bet on a Brighton win but was too lazy and didn't get around to it. I'll probably make an effort to so when we face Wolves. Disclaimer: I have jumped the gun on 38 defeats but am prepared to take credit if we somehow manage a comeback today.
OnceaSaintalwaysaSaint Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Nope, never bet against your interests. Admittedly, haven't won much this season, but got one 2-1 this year which has recovered most of the losses.
spyinthesky Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I have to admit I more or less paid for my season ticket last season after laying a decent bet on us to go down the last time we were in the Prem.
bpsaint Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Not so much betting against us, but myself and two colleagues ( a skate and a Bournemouth fan) do a predictor each match week on the outcome of our matches. Needless to say I rarely have to think hard about whether we’ll win lose or draw.

I've done it most of this season, and in some games where we take the lead lump on more like vs Newcastle and Man Utd where odds were too good to miss when you know what's coming 2
lhammondo Posted February 23 Posted February 23 No problem with betting against us - why shouldn't i make money whilst our squad make millions for continual ineptitude?

Tamesaint Posted February 24 Posted February 24 (edited) On the other hand we are 10/1 to win on Tuesday and 6 /1 to draw. Tempted?? No me neither. Edited February 24 by Tamesaint
Farmer Saint Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Yep, did it a lot in our relegation season. This season I've done it a few times, but the odds are so bad as the bookies reckon we'll lose even when we go ahead.
austsaint Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I’ve done it once. Back in 2012, last game of the season, Saints had to beat Coventry in the Championship to confirm automatic promotion. I put 200 AUD on Coventry thinking the 2k collect would numb disappointment if the unthinkable happened. 4-0 Saints. 1
Whitey Grandad Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I don’t bet. It’s bad enough running a small business anyway.
OnceaSaintalwaysaSaint Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Thinking of betting on football, how's Ivan Toney doing in the Middle East? If he wants to be reintegrated into English football, I'd be more than happy for Saints to take a punt on him. Genuinely think he could be the striker we've been missing for the last few seasons.
