I wonder if the players wake up as excited as we do, all a buzz and giddy with confidence and anticipation?

I can't wait.

Well, I look forward to seeing you on the train RB! Front carriage as always. 😉

Is this the first home game not to make it to ticket exchange this season?

Still 84 tickets available,  might shift a few more before kick off, I'm sure plenty more empty seats with season tickets not being used

I was away last week - and despite getting my ticket on the exchange as soon as that opened, it didn't sell.

Was very strange that we continued to (easily) sell out for as long as we did. I'm glad folks are finally starting to vote with their feet.

Heading into town now, prepared for another miserable experience. FFS.

My predictions for the game:

Minimum of three (3) fullbacks on the pitch (for Saints) at all times.

VAR stoppage of at least 4 minutes.

Downes to play and be booked.

Saints will play well once 2-0 down.

Same old story, really.

I see Paddy Power has tweeted to Leicester fans that just when you think it couldn't get any worse and you've got the worse team ever, remember there is a team called Southampton FC.

Well stuff you, Paddy. I've just lumped on with a 2-1 home win (well, ok a fiver!) and not with you Paddy because your odds are so skinny!

In pub chatting to Brighton fans, they're so much nicer than Leeds or Chelsea or West Ham supporters..

Not a high bar though is it.

Fuck me, he’s starting Aribo at CB.

I mean Aribo has unironically been our best CB not just recently but probably all season.

Different formation I reckon. 4231.

I doubt it. I don’t see a scenario where we play James Bree in a centre back partnership.

What makes you think that? Juric keeps using Aribo at CB and praising his performances on the LCB role. Plus he has not previously changed from his favoured 3421 or 3412.

Unlikely, given the order that they appear on the team sheet. Looks like a bog standard Juric 3 at the back lineup to me.

With only one recognised CB in that 3, and 3 FBs on the pitch, of course.

Always chuckle that Aribo scored in a major European final playing as a striker, and we deploy him as a centre half 😂

Blokes absolutely clueless, hopefully Spors can see that too and start a fresh in the summer

What the fuck is that MF all about though? Is it just Les as a single holding player behind a front 4?

I don't think I was too far off with the 'donut formation'. If anything I'd say it was more of the 'Big Les Bukake' formation.

Bednarek

Bree                                         Aribo

KWP                         Ugochukwu                  Welington

Dibling                                             Fernandes

Archer               Sully

Looking at that line-up, time to dust off my "We should've stuck with Martin" bingo card ready for full-time... ;)

Awful manager

Can’t believe we’ve managed to find someone even worse than Martin. Classic SR

When we saw the U formation with Rusty you thought “I hope he learns his lesson here and never does that again”. This geezer seems to have taken it as a blueprint. It’s just a tactical immediate surrender of centre midfield, time and again.

I would imagine Fernandes would actually be more central, ahead of Les, with Sully in his place on the left. But yeah, not far off by the look of it.

No we shouldn’t have. Getting rid was the right call. The problem is always who we go for instead.

We just shouldn’t keep appointing fucking cretins that can’t set up a midfield properly

It’s an absolute joke. Reckon every week he thinks by starting this way, he can save a proper formation and team until the second half to somehow outwit the oppo manager. Trouble is we’re two or three down by 60 minutes and chasing the game, which then plays straight into the oppositions hands.  Easy prediction of 0-3 or 1-3. Whatever…no points again and I feel really sorry for the supporters at what will likely be another shit home game.

I think it's funny really. We have two CBs on the bench, perfectly capable CBS too, and we play a full back and an attacking midfielder. alongside Jan. I dread to think how many Brighton's attacking riches will get. I guess we can hope to outscore them. 5-4 Saints. ABK winner in the 110th minute.

Personally I like Aribo at centre back - definitely prefer him to Stephens who I would definitely not call perfectly capable. Who knows whats up with Bella-K but something is.

Blue skies, and one of the highest temperatures of the year to date - yet the weather got increasingly volatile as we approached the stadium.

Bodes well. 😅

So it’s basically press the repeat button.

No tactical change.

Bednarek still plays,

Midfield wide open and outnumbered.

The usual rotation of team selection when the biggest issue that can be attacked is the tactics, not considered….

Bella Kotchup on the bench for no apparent reason and will not be used.

Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat…

Is Juric not seeing the same problem every game and still refusing to change the system.

Yeah, it's rubbish. Saints fans don't deserve this bullshit.

Aribo's looked pretty solid at CB recently so I can understand why he's been selected to play there. What's worrying is that he's preferred above all the other available CBs in the squad which tells us something about the quality there.
