Even if we had've sacked RM 4-6 weeks earlier, we were still going to bring in Juric given how he was seriously considered before and the timing of his sacking by Roma. We probably would've still been on the same amount of points we're on now.

We've had zero uplift from Juric, apart from the first half against WHU. You can point the finger at RM, but Juric has been a disaster in his own right trying to implememt a mad system while we're in the middle of a relegation fight. But no matter who is in charge, it also highlights how poor the summer recruitment was. The club had given up before the January window (hence the lack of business) which must be a PL first

Don’t agree that Juric was nailed on for the job. If rumours and noises are to be believed we were sounding out others but knocked back due to the perilous state we were in.

I perceive it to be pretty obvious that it is now extremely difficult to stay in the Prem if promoted unless you make some very good signings of underalued or undiscovered players

The fact that Leicester are struggling despite having possibly the best squad of the promoted sides pretty much confirms this.

WE have to face some extremely talented players almost every week and have not enough talented players to win.

it is pointless blaming or vilifying individual players when they are just not as good as the opposition it's not really their fault

i feel sorry for my grandson who was really  excited at the beginning of the season and had an Adam Armstrong shirt bought for him

I rather hope he will support his nearest good club Arsenal as its an easy train ride away.

I thought I had had experienced all the emotions possible in 65 years of following Saints but no season has come near to the disappointment and apathy I feel now. I don't even bother watching MOTD most weeks now.

There is an interesting article saying the Pep system doesn't work any more against fast breaking teams.

Anyway Inow I've got that off my chest I've given up on this season

Utd have been bled dry by the Glazers , they loaded the club with debt when they ‘bought it’ payed themselves £M etc . Utd were running into money trouble which is why they wanted additional investment , hence Ratcliffe . Unfortunately his companies are starting to slowly drown in debt , he fell out with the America cup team , he is currently slashing jobs etc at Utd . Not sure there will be a happy outcome as Utd have been going downhill for a long time . The problem is more about the Prem and the insane amounts of money being spent but that is also now applies to all sports trying the big money professional route . Look at the state of cricket and tennis , players being payed absurd amounts in exchange for being flogged to death in endless tournaments . Rugby as well now unrecognisable these days but also teetering on the brink .

Interesting comments, far wider topic than response to Saints v Brighton !

Will be fun to see Utd struggle under Ratclffe/Ineos after all the self publicity.

In short though, agree £ has been the ruination of many of our sports. Rugby be used to be a good day, and quite refreshing change from  atmosphere and commercialism at football in the 80’s ( albeit already the days of shamatuerism) , but now following many of the sanitised commercial traits of football.

Wouldn’t you rather he followed Cambridge Utd* or a proper club if not Saints ?

I think so plus the conditioning of the players in Rugby mean it can't be played  safely combined with the endless subs pitting fresh players against knackered players.

Ratcliffe exposes the problem with the Premier league too much money required to survive let alone compete in the league.

You’re not the only one. The players have too.

The save he makes near the end was absolutely tremendous (added to several others yesterday) and another reason he won’t stay, he’s too good to play championship football.

Spot on comment.
I reckon he saved at least 4 certain goals added to the 3 in the previous game v Bournemouth.
These were of the category of Shilton & Niemi.
Wonder what the score would have been with our other 'keepers in goal.
No chance of him being here next season. Just hope he has increased his value.

So I’ve scanned through the last 6 pages and I haven’t actually seen Rasmus specifically be called out yet.

This is the man who is most accountable, a man who goes on record saying he appoints failed managers because they have learned by their previous mistakes. Well this utter incompetent clown hasn’t. Dragon has actually put up some decent money, it’s just been completely wasted by this loser Rasmus, someone who clearly doesn’t learn from his own mistakes. The only thing I am excited to see Saints related now until the end of the season is him getting questioned at the fans forum.
Talking of the fans…..why are 30,000 still turning up every week? Why do people still buy crap drinks at that shit bar with live music they created, why don’t the fans actually do something productive, have a pop instead of minor booing and stop putting money into the failure that is SFC. Until that happens nothing will change.

i told Talk Sport in October we wouldn’t get to 11 points, we won’t get off 9.

Ahem!

It's not Dragan that I am furious with, he has indeed put in money (although he should've taken action earlier with the rest of the SR clowns who are responsible.)

Most of us are livid at Rasmus Ankersen, the chief architect of the clusterf*ck since SR took over. P*mpey fans must love him, maybe they'll give him the keys to their town and build a statue in his honour.

As we've heard since, Rohl was our top choice but we weren't prepared to pay the compo that Sheff Wednesday wanted.

He lives very close to Royston so its very easy by train

Besides which he'd have just as much disappointment if he followed Cambridge,

unfortunately their glory days were when my son was very young and we went very often

He may even watch a few wins with Arsenal

I never thought I'd say this but as his other grandparents are moving away from Bournemouth a trip to watch Saints is prohibitevly

expensive

Rohl's Sheffield Wednesday team have only won 1 of their 10 games since then. The way they're going, he could be sacked at the end of the season, so no compo will be required.

He sounds ideal.

This might be unpopular I know.

But from my time in little shorts watching Lawrie’s team until now.

The best this club has been run is in the hands of ML and NC.

God Bless Marcus, and I would take Nicola back in it

It would only be unpopular with people who have issues with clubs being well-run, astute purchases based on accurate scouting, a lack of tolerance for ineptitude and mediocrity, and heaven forbid, some decent results

My mistake with my last couple of words, I knew that re reading it,  and I hope I’m forgiven.

ML and NC knew what they were doing. I would love both of them back.

Maybe I’m just a romanticist.

Ramsdale was immense yesterday. Made some incredible saves.

Could not agree more. I've rewatched the save that he touches on to the post many times and it's right up there with the best I've seen this season.

I've been impressed with him all season, as most Saints will have been, but yesterday took my appreciation to another level. His speed off the line, ability to get down and massive physical presence was on another level to what I've seen in a Saints shirt for a long long time. How annoying is it to finally sort out the keeper position only for him to likely depart on relegation?
