It was mentioned by one of the TSP presenters that we continue to sell out despite our shocking home record. I don’t doubt this, but we are not selling out to Saints fans, not in block 4 anyway. I have different people sitting all around me at every game, no singing, no reaction, no engagement whatsoever. This used to be a lively part of the ground, but it started going downhill in the last premier league season, was ok in the championship but is just depressing now.

I feel like I was singing on my own and embarrassing myself when I get animated. I presume they are a mix of opposition fans and premier league tourists, we are probably one of the few teams where local interest has fallen off to a level that there are plenty of tickets on resale. I believe the club have deliberately held seats back for “walk ups” as I couldn’t purchase the season ticket next to mine even though it belonged to one of our group last season who didn’t renew and hasn’t been occupied since.

I guess I won’t have to worry about any of that next season.

Anyone having similar experiences?

I tip my hat to all those who make themselves heard at games especially this season as there has been buggar all to get excited about.
I used to be like that as a youngster but age takes its toll and I have only been able to respond as I used to do at Wembley and West Brom games last season.
It might be beneficial for the club to offer cheaper prices to those attending matches at the Northam end where standing is the order of the day which is similar to arrangements in Germany.

Where’s block D?

There’s not exactly been a lot to sing about in our most recent 2 Prem seasons, I imagine a lot of your block is just feeling the same general apathy the rest of the ground is.

Are you sure you are going to the correct stadium? Blocks are numbered, not lettered at St Mary’s. That might explain the lack of Saints fans!

Block 4, my error. Not like you to pick up on errors.

D=4 glad you were paying attention

Rasmus probably reimagined the ticket office in July, theorising that his liquid biz-soccer, goal music and mesmerising flags would have the power to convert away fans, neutrals and the Isle of Wight this season.

I think that's very much true, nice discussion here by Brighton fans regarding sitting in the home end

How hard is it in this day and age to sell home tickets to home fans only? As someone on there said they kick up a fuss when they have away fans in their home end, yet they are perfectly happy coming into Saints home areas to watch their team.

The cheek of one of their posters calling our ground a shithole when they were playing at the Withdean not long ago

Some JCLs forgetting where they’ve come from as a club. Bet that isn’t one of their fans from the 90s or early 00s.
