A: can’t argue with that, although I suspect there will be commentators drooling over the further fall of SFC, especially as we’ll have a war chest from the fire sale to potentially bring in the best Championship players money can buy. (Note the emphasis being potentially).

♦️ We get to play in a more exciting league and may actually win a couple of games.

A: it’ll only be more exciting if we’re competitive and winning games - not a given if this team of losers are kept on.

♦️ We get to play Portsmouth.

A: can’t argue with that, although I’m not certain a win would be a certainty with this lot of losers (there’s a theme happening here!)

♦️ We have a opportunity to properly reset the club, clear the decks and buy a team that has a bit of grit, steel and bollocks about them.

A: yes that’s absolutely true…it’s an opportunity. Will it be taken is the huge question looming over the club from now until the end of the window.

♦️ Ross Stewart, evaporating into sawdust as soon as he touches a blade of grass.......

The crowd in the second half when we were attacking was brilliant for a short while, the whole ground singing OWTS, including us geriatrics in the Itchen. We don't need too much encouragement, but we do need something to cheer about.

Perhaps the loan returnees will make a difference after their championship experience? Perhaps we'll finally get an insurance payout on Ross Stewart, or dock the wages of whoever sanctioned his signing.. Whilst we're at it, sue Les Reed for gaslighting us over Carillo..

Would be great if the break was longer.

This may not be correct. Players are instantly upgraded when they are playing for other teams. Adam’s and Alcaraz are a few of the examples.

At 99 we're only just in the top 100 worst teams across all countries' first to third divisions. Got to count our blessings and appreciate what Sport Republic are doing for us.

Things I am looking forward to next season.

1. The end of the shit show of this season which will be the worst in our history in relation to results.

2. Winning more games than losing (hopefully!!!)

3. Leaving St Marys without the joyous chants of away supporters ringing in my ears.

4. Two decent derby wins over our nearest rivals (please!!!!!!!!)

To add a genuine positive, no more VAR.

Just watching the Sheff U v Leeds match, and being able to know it was a goal without waiting for check clear/check over was just refreshing. (If you haven't seen it, that was the sort of goal VAR would have spent a month checking, for various reasons)
