Just spoken to a client in work who is a QPR fan. He was obviously happy with their result last night.

I asked about Edwards. His response.... "What a player. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets player of the season. Apparently he has said he wants a permanent move and doesn't want to go back to Saints."

Brilliant. 😕

Loanee making complimentary noises about his temporary club. Hardly a first.

Didn’t the Echo go overboard about Downes ‘wanting’ (or willing) to stay last season?

Not reading too much into that

QPR couldn’t pay the wages or fee needed with FFP either.

They couldn't afford his transfer fee or wages.

Read somewhere that he's been used in midfield as well as defence? I could see him being a success as a defensive midfielder.  He's naturally defensive but is a bit short for a centre back.

So with him and Shea Charles behind Fernandes, that's our midfield sorted for next year.

A bit optimistic to think we’ll keep Fernandes.  But your point is well made - both the loan moves of Edwards and Charles have worked well for all parties, and both could/should be first team starters (for us) next season.
