NewYorkSaint Posted Saturday at 17:13 Posted Saturday at 17:13 Mathematically, there's a reasonable chance this year that the we break the prior record for low points needed to survive (34 pts). With a big gap above the bottom four, it's just possible that 30-31 pts cd do it. So... all we need are 6 wins and 3 draws.... easy peasy! 4 2

jasonbenali Posted Saturday at 17:16 Posted Saturday at 17:16 Absolute karma win after Ipswich's late goals against us. Thought it was very even and for once Saints were clinical which ultimately was the difference. If we can tighten that gap in the middle of the defence that Ipswich could drive a tractor through, then we look OK and at times we harried them really well (at times not). Not sure what ABK has to do to get a game as his pace and strength would really help. MOTM was Fernandes - he was immense in the press and really took the pressure off at the end bring the ball out. Derby County we're coming for you!! 12

saint francis Posted Saturday at 17:22 Posted Saturday at 17:22 We need to stop the tactic of hoofing it towards Onachu to hold up - it's not working. All game I wanted him replaced - then he goes and gets the winner. Aribo again lacks creativity but good defensively and took his goal well. Aribo CAN hold the ball up when needed to - perhaps go with him if we are to play that game. We looked a more dangerous team with Sulemana in it IMO. We need to try and get Fernandes into games a bit more, very creative and attack-minded. 1

He's a good player and powerful lad, but I don't expect my cbs to be outmuscled. We have too many CBs that simply don't have the basic attributes required. Not easy to find players that AND can play too, but that needs solving in the next 18 months. 5
BotleySaint Posted Saturday at 17:25 Posted Saturday at 17:25 At least there is a glimmer of hope that we might beat the Derby record. Just need to get 3 more points and I'll be happy. Sad state of affairs when I'll be happy being bottom, miles adrift, but just glad to beat the worst possible record. 1

Vancouver Saint Posted Saturday at 17:31 Posted Saturday at 17:31 Yea, a win! Happy for Juric and the team. Watching two well-matched Championship teams here, but what was clear was the players putting a real shift in for the manager despite our position. Thought both our debutants showed promise. Fresh blood with no baggage made a difference. Lots of adversity with injuries and forced changes and we kept going. Joe Aribo my MOTM. We need a new, big CB or two - you'd have thought Juric cou;ld've found a Croatian hard-man CB...don't they specialise in those? 4
Midfield_General Posted Saturday at 17:31 Posted Saturday at 17:31 (edited) Onuachu was getting stick on here, and my stream was terrible so it was hard to properly see what was going on, but in between bouts of buffering and hot grannies in my area it looked like he won more than his fair share of headers when it was lumped up to him, and just needed someone closer to him picking up the second ball a bit more. Plus of course he reacted well to knock in the winner. Looked like he did alright, all told. Edited Saturday at 17:34 by Midfield_General 7 2

The press was non existent from him. However, he's in the box when the balls falls - and in the end that's what won this game. A lot of his goals in Belgium and Turkey were like the one he scored today. I will never be a big fan, but if you want to score, you have to get in the danger area and he does that all the time. Not all our strikers do. 4

BARCELONASAINT Posted Saturday at 17:45 Posted Saturday at 17:45 I thought the new lads did well, Wellington in particular. Both will good for us in the Championship next season if we keep them. Good to bloody win again and to beat those irritating bumpkins! 3
Convict Colony Posted Saturday at 17:46 Posted Saturday at 17:46 Honestly i am stoked with that, really felt good today when i saw the team. Liked everything about wellington, fast, works hard both ways, put in crosses into areas where our players were and had that brazilian touch about everything but most of all he wore short sleeves no gloves in feb, proper hardman. Also people really down playing the 2nd goal, great work from sully, muric was moving away and hence only got back to palm but that goal was all about tall pauls anticipation and taking a chance something we have been asking our strikers to do for ages. Take that you Ed Sheeran loving cunts, our european push begins now. 7

He didn't win duels, he's wasteful - but he scored the winner. You can't drop him after scoring a winner, but the fact that he's ended up our best striker this season is directly correlated to us being a waste of space. He is absolutely NOT 'fast in a straight line'. Just because it looks like he's in pain, doesn't make it quick. Edited Saturday at 17:57 by SambaMaverick 1 2
S-Clarke Posted Saturday at 17:58 Posted Saturday at 17:58 What is this odd feeling I have? I'm not sure what to do. I've not felt like this after 5 on a Saturday for some time. Looking at it objectively, I thought that was a showing of two pretty poor teams. The second half became more of a slog and I think that suited Juric a bit more. I'm still not keen on the 3 at the back, and I think it's confusing THB. He was charging forward so much and leaving the other two (or usually Bednarek) totally exposed, and that's why we let Delap run through free. I really enjoyed Wellingtons performance though, he reminded me of Bertrand in his style. It'll be interesting to see how he gets on over the coming weeks. Nice to finally get closer to that Derby point total though, maybe, just maybe, we'll end up getting enough points to avoid that embarrassment now. 3

I don’t think people are necessarily changing with the wind, not that there is anything wrong with changing your mind, but there has always been a lot of support for him on here and a lot of us thought Martin wasn’t giving him a fair go.
