spyinthesky Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Possible Draws Expected Losses Ipswich (A) Bournemouth (H) Brighton (H) Chelsea (A) Wolves (H) Liverpool (A) Palace (H) Spurs (A) Villa (H) Man City (H) W Ham (A) Arsenal (H) Fulham (H) Leicester (A) Everton (A) I am a a self confessed Negative Nellie but if the team cant get six draws or one win and three draws from 15 games that may be a scar that many will never recover from. Winning two games would be a minor miracle the way we are playing at the moment.

We have enough dismal records as it is - its just another to add to the growing list. Or if you're worried by what other fans might think then perhaps supporting Saints isnt for you. Maybe that's just me, but I've been worn down watching enough shite for the past 5 years If you mean the players - many will be at new clubs next season and will have forgotten about how bad they were - they're just after their next payday. 2
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Sadly, it looks as though we'll have to depend on the cup, to get into Europe next season. 6 9

Think we'll win a couple of those home games and pick up 2-3 draws so another 8 or 9 points will get us over the line. 4 1 1

Last min winner at home to Arsenal last game of the season to get us above the record followed by a jubilant pitch invasion, the goal scorer, Ross Stewart, carried off the pitch on the shoulders of cheering fans Marvellous 3 8
LGTL Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago We really have to focus on Wolves and Palace at home. They're probably our best two chances of actually winning a game. Even if we somehow manage to win just one of them, it leaves us needing 3 draws. Surely even we can manage that, surely? I'm not remotely confident mind you. 1
die Mannyschaft Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Anything is possible. We should be winning against, Ipswich, Wolves, Leicester, Everton and West Ham. That's 15 points. Saints are playing catch up after only recently training to cross balls, not walk, and realising passing around at back just let's in goals. We should get 5 draws v these teams at the very least. 1 2

The 9-0s are quite bad as it is, we also have the most frequent heavy defeats per season. But... Beating Derby's record would feel like a point of no return, complete humiliation. 2

We'd probably need them to get him onto the pitch as well. 1 1

Fair comment but having supported the Saints from the Div3S days, my support for Saints is a given however I have never known us to be so outclassed at any time in my long association. That said I will be back next year without much expectation. 2

It's weird reading this thread, reading that in any normal teams forum you'd think we were still debating a chance of staying up and wins against those teams will be huge etc etc. But no, we're actually not debating staying up - we're debating making sure we get more than 11 points. It's incredible how this season has been allowed to happen. Edited 15 hours ago by S-Clarke 4 2 1
Teamsaint1 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago If the team and management stick together we can get a halfway respectable return from the last 15 games, say 2 wins and three draws. We will need a couple of games where we play near our best and get a decent rub of the green, but I’m sure the players will be up for the challenge. 3
Galway saint Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Think our best chance of a win will be when the season is effectively over for a lot of teams and they have one eye on the beach, but until then I can’t see us beating anyone in the PL.
rallyboy Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Don't panic - Juric is out there tonight driving through the M3 roadworks at 110mph, he's on a provisional licence, he's got no insurance or MOT, if that doesn't take us past Derby, nothing will. 2
Morse Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Very much depends how long Dibbling and Sulemana are out for, and if Fernandes stays fit. I'd give us a 50/50 chance of getting to 12 points.
woodsaint1 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Calling it now - we'll equal it What was Derby's GD? 😂😂
Hawkswood Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Question is.......if we reach 12 points can we have a pitch invasion ?

Yeah this is a terrible, terrible team and everyone involved from Dragan down should be completely embarrassed and/or sacked 2

It's incredible how this season has been allowed to happen. They have won just one of their last 36 Premier League games (D7 L28) and, when converting to three points for a win all time, Saints' six points is the second lowest after 23 top-flight games, with only Bolton in 1902/03 ever having fewer at this stage (3). All i want and suspect alot on the same wavelength, simple just beat Derby 11 points ,season is over just a matter of whos going with us.

Golac's Iron Gonads Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Why do we want to avoid it? I say we should knuckle down, focus, and really go all out to set a points total so low that future generations will ask their parents, peers and experts how such a total was possible and why was such a thing allowed to happen. I am looking forward to years and years of Youtube videos explaining and analysing what happened to Southampton in the 2024/25 season. 3

I think they’ll just avoid with a couple of April wins against teams in mid-table thinking of their holidays but part of me does see benefits in the club humiliated with a single figure points total to remove any trace of the misplaced smugness and complacency particular towards our supporters since 2017. Get a bit of fire and drive back in the bellies and also it might force a total change of the guard in how SFC is run. Come back with the biggest budget in the league, recruitment to excite the fans, autos with 100 points and the narrative would be of incredible comeback and renewal. Ball in Dragan’s court. Simply we are by far the lowest net spenders trying to survive in the elite league by picking up mainly young players who may or may not produce a good sell on profit. Add in Russball which clearly was never going to work and led to a constant flow of ridiculous mistakes and then factor in SR who are clueless and you have concocted the perfect storm to produce a team and squad not geared to win matches in the Premier League. We are like a blindfolded boxer fighting with both hands tied behind his back. The reasons for our demise are pretty obvious really. Edited 2 hours ago by saintant 1
