Anyone else still keep thinking that at some point we'll go on a bit of a run and pick up 6 - 10 points? (How tragic does that sound?) Of course we're down but I still have hope that we'll eclipse Derby's record..

If Juric can help them pull out some Man Utd displays and second half Saturday, they might encounter some mid-table outfits towards the end of the season dreaming of Barbados and not fancying a few challenges going in. 2-3 wins would do it.

Say it quick enough, and it sounds plausible enough.

When you look at this fixture, part of me thinks, “do we have to” ?

If we fail to turn up I think it’s only a 3-0 defeat imposed by default.

Ah the good old days where Newcastle would come down South and play us off the park only for Le Tissier to score a worldie (or two). Nowadays they seem to be able to beat us no matter how many they have on the pitch. At least we have one thing in common with them this season - a sense of outrage at Bereton-Diaz.

2-1 to Saints. They're not going to be able to cope with our free scoring football.

Just remember we only need two wins to go past Derby.

We used to have a very good home record against these but not since Eddie Howe went there. Time to change that and get a much needed victory. We still owe them for the time under Covid they pulled the player shortage card so let's make Saturday pay-back time.

There are 5 games we could win. All bottom half of tables teams. If games were 70 mins and no added time and only 2 subs then 8 games.

It's shame we're are looking at fixtures trying to find 5 points. London games used to be a great away day with all fans expecting 3 points or at least 1.

they took a humping last time out so not sure if that was a good or bad thing. Hopefully Juric looked at how Bournemouth took them apart and has a similar plan.

we aint Bournemouth.

Just the six consecutive defeats against them, in all comps. Last time we beat them at St Mary’s we went top of the league.

That feels such a long time ago, wish I'd bought one of those t-shirts now

I agree. They will be smarting after that defeat at home from Bournemouth and looking to revive the momentum they had before that game. Then along comes Southampton, right on cue!

According to Juric:

Ramsdale has 'done something in training yesterday' and will be assessed tomorrow.

Sulemana has a hamstring injury & is not available.

Gronbaek only started training with the team today so is unlikely to feature.

Doesn't really bode well for Saturday with both Sulemana & Dibling out🤦‍♂️

I think we might lose this now 😕

My expectations are getting lower to what a good target is, nil nil at half time and time waste second half to piss them off, maybe get one of their players sent off so we can cling on for a point.

Maybe reading between the lines we've agreed to sell him to Newcastle 🙂

Worked fantastically on the first day of the season.

They could rework that t-shirt, just drop the 'O' from 'STOP THE C*UNT', change the date and replace the league table with a photo of someone suitable. I have an idea who'd likely be the most popular choice.

Whats the odds on a 0-9 I wonder.

Newcastle looking to bounce back after a poor result against Bournemouth. They've also had our number since the Saudis came in (before that, Newcastle at home used to be a comfortable win for us).

We're, well, very poor and will be missing Ramsdale (possibly), Dibling and Sulemana. Great.

All I ask is for us to still be in the game after an hour and who knows what could happen

                     Ramsdale 🤞🏼

          THB   Bednarek   Wood

KWP          Les      Aribo        Manning

                    Fernandes

              Onuachu   Archer

Same team for me too. With no Sulemana or Dibling, both who have been very good lately, I’d be interested in seeing an Onuachu/Archer pairing.  I still think AA will start though.

It’s probably delusion and rose tints but I still think we have it in us to surpass 20 points this season. It would require getting, and keeping, everyone fit but it’s doable. Still shit but at least we’d only be a mild laughing stock rather than a huge one.
