Newcastle having issues travelling to Southampton due to Storm Eowyn

Do they have any key players with injuries? 🙂

The cynic in me says that Ramsdale and Sulemana are a pair of sick notes just like Downes.

The cynic in me says that Sulemana has done enough on the last few games to put himself in the shop window to get his move - not bothered about the club one bit, and doesn’t want to risk himself any further.

I may be way off the mark here, but Downes and Ramsdale have only just come back from fairly routine injuries (dead leg, broken finger) that took far too long to get over.

Both have been disappointing this season.

Motivating and keeping players interested when you know you're down by New Year was always going to be a challenge. Maybe they are genuinely injured but I doubt anyone would rush back. No doubt someone will bang on about them being professional at all times blah blah; but they're human beings and the situation is so shit it's bound to reduce motivation for some if not all the players. In terms of a result, given injuries probably means AA starting 3-1 to Newcastle.

That tickled me. Reminds me of when they bought an entirely new squad due to COVID after the pandemic, and delayed the game a month.

Armstrong and Fraser? 😂

Triffic.

Fraser was on the bench, so is next in line. At least you know he will put a shift in.

I noticed Archer wasn't on the bench in the Forest game and we had two CBs on the bench, so is he injured? I guess if we played two up front in a 4-4-2 (which we won't) we'd still need a right midfielder, which we don't have. Maybe Sugaware/KWP or Armstrong doing what he does best and that's work up and down the pitch rather than score goals.

Tbh even if he watched the game it's an easy mistake to make. Archer and Armstrong have been two totally non existent players whilst on the pitch.

I remember they also had trouble during the petrol strikes when Hoddle was manager with a very tasty side managed by Robson. Lost 2-0 and Saints could’ve won by more. The Archers were singing ‘What a waste of Petrol’

Ah yes my mistake. Despite the shitshow, I thought he held the ball up quite well in the first half.

By the way, don't let anyone say you don't bring something special to this forum. 10 posts so far and there have been some gems. Can I suggest you spend less time watching the games and more time developing your posting skills, cos at the moment, you might not be presenting your very best self.

I'd forgotten about that one, always seemed to do well against them in that era 👍🏻

Someone posted a video from the 3-1 in 94/95, what a night that was. Grobbelaar kept us in it after Kitson’s overhead kick put them ahead and after Simon Charlton whacked a free kick against the bar we were pouring forward and Newcastle cracked in the final dramatic minutes. I can see my teenage self in the clip of the third goal in the Archers. That stupid tannoy announcement telling the Archers to sit down fired up the crowd a treat which all helped the momentum swing.

To be honest it’s like January 2023 all over again, I’m back to feeling like going to the match is a chore rather than the release from the working week it should be.

To be really honest they could probably arrive 20 minutes AFTER kick off and still win.

They could spend the morning and lunchtime in the Dancing Man microbrewery swigging craft beer and still win comfortably in the afternoon even turning up 20 minutes after kick off drunk as rats.

Wonder where he’s gone?

Went from posting every day and suddenly stopped. Just a coincidence I guess that he just happened to live near Brighton, started posting just before rumours broke about Russell Martin and Saints and slipped away soon after he left. He did use to play good cop/bad cop about RM, eventually saying he should go once it went to shit this season.

Just gone past, can confirm Howe's just got a round of Jaegerbombs,  that's confidence for you

Was is Charlie George or Stan Bowles who said he once stood at the centre circle for kick-off one Saturday and had had so much as lunchtime he was seeing two footballs? I know which one our forwards would kick!

That line up just screams an absolute battering today.
damn it’s depressing.🤦🏻
You watch us get 3 points now I’ve said that.

Armstrong has proved to be a complete waste of space this season, there is no point what so ever in playing him.

Why is Sam Amo being completely ignored…. The lad has bags of skill yet doesn’t even get on the bench….

Bless ArmA, I know he was massive for us last season but he’s just a waste of a shirt in this league. Not that there’s a lot of choice admittedly but he’s just not the answer.

1-5 to Newcastle

Tbh, expect it with any of our lineups.

TBH that’s about as good a team as we can put out today. I’ll say 2-1 to Newcastle, with a TP header but from open play this time.

I'm ignoring that after your prediction last week.
