I get the gap is big, but it's not this big - which is why I can't see things being too different in a lower league with this bunch. Mentally most of them will never recover. Maybe. I prefer to worry about that in a few months time. It's bad enough watching this shit now without imaging how much worse it will be next season. Forest are decent. That's being overlooked. I didnt feel five at the back was thew answer today. Juric is too rigid to that formation. 2
St. Ciervo Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Just now, Killers Knee said: Not watching as son has an Ice Hockey match, but is Armstrong doing his party trick of running towards a player in possession, then stopping about 3m away, allowing him all the time in the world to select a pass? It’s the most pathetic thing in premiership football, someone needs to make a YouTube montage of it. Yes... He is doing that nonstop. . He actually keeps moving forward, but his strides go to 1/10th the length. I recall seeing him do it in the first game he played for us, and my heart just sunk. 4 managers later and he is still doing it. So I thought the problem was with me. 1
Dirkdiggler Posted January 19 Posted January 19 We are so bad it’s almost funny! These shit pricks should never see a saints shirt ever again! 2

Lord Duckhunter Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Archer is fucking soft as shite as well. He needs to man up. 1
Stripey McStripe Shirt Posted January 19 Posted January 19 In somewhat good news, our xG (a whopping 0.23) is only 0.05 behind Forest and we are dominating the possession stats despite the 3 goal deficit. Coyr.
Saint NL Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Even in our worst days under Martin, the players weren't as stroppy as this. They look completely fed up
Saint Fan CaM Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Honestly, Armstrong is so far from looking like a Prem player it’s unreal. 5

S-Clarke Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Just now, Lord Duckhunter said: Archer is fucking soft as shite as well. He needs to man up. I'd say the entirety of the team are. Even last season they were shown up in moments, heads dropping and wilting when the going gets tough. Their somewhat limited quality may squeaked them over the line last season, but you need more than that at PL level. I'd be inclined to start completely afresh and get as much $$ as we can for every single one of these players in the summer. They've shown they're all incapable at this level, some have had multiple stabs at it, so there is no point in keeping them around if our ambition is to somehow establish in the PL. 2

Make no mistake though, he also is in no way a Premier League quality player. He's been obviously not good enough for the Prem since day one and I have said as much. Too slow in body and mind. Technically limited. Not dominant in the air or on the ground. He tries hard, but Championship level is about right for him. Defenders that have to chuck themselves to the floor all the time are doing so because they cant keep up.

saint michael Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I wonder if the owners believed that this season would end any other way than it is. If they did it really does expose how shit their knowledge of footie is. 1

But we didn't and are now heading back to a league where he is prolific. So it makes sense to keep him for a promotion campaign and then sell him if that is achieved as he is out of his depth in the PL.
Mr Saints Posted January 19 Posted January 19 27 minutes ago, Matthew Le God said: He is completely out of his depth in the Premier League, but we don't need him to be good enough for the Premier League next season. Why sell a player capable of scoring 24 Championship goals when you are going to be playing in the Championship? The time to sell him is not this season, it is after any potential future promotion. Fuck that. This lot have embarrassed us enough and don’t deserve to wear the badge of this great club, in any league. Mass clear out in the summer and rebuild. 1

Saint Fan CaM Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Big Les is putting in a better display than Downes already. KWP in the book. Manning on…lovely.
badgerx16 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Is this going to be another game in which we have zero shots on target ? The spirit of Russell Martin still haunts the club.

I think that is likely, they were quite happy tossing it off on Martin’s easy street, all they had to do was religiously follow instructions for ball possession, not worry about the results, enjoy their days off, whilst becoming millionaires and with the odd cuddle thrown in here and there for good measure. They are being held to account now and they don’t like it one bit.
