Chez Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Les is on it. He looks a decent player to me. No idea what went wrong under RM, but he's been good in recent games. 2
Harry_SFC Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Ugochukwu has been the best player on the pitch second half. Completed dominated the midfield. 12

Saint_clark Posted January 19 Posted January 19 TP with a great knock down to the edge of the box but we're so alien to that kind of play that nobody gets on the end of it. 1
BotleySaint Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Irritating that we can show some fight at times. But for most of the game we've been nowhere. 3
Gloucester Saint Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Just now, Suhari said: Was just thinking the same. He’s inconsistent which can happen with younger players in a new league with limited experience. Him and Downes should have playing together far more often which would have helped Flynn as well, but the bloke from Norwich didn’t agree. 3
BotleySaint Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Good to see us show some fight. But too little too late yet again.
coalman Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Another game we've shown some fight. Baby steps and all that.
benjii Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Clear foul on Smallbone there and I, for one, am confident we would have dispatched the free kick. 3 2
saintant Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Some positives from second half - goal from TP and Big Les showing that Russell couldn't spot a player if he tripped over him.
Harry_SFC Posted January 19 Posted January 19 First half was honestly pathetic. Much better second but damage was done. 2

Disco Stu Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Sounds like starting Armstrong and Downes instead of Onuachu and Ugochukwu was a fatal error. 11
OttawaSaint Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Hmm. Perhaps Ugu and Onu from start would have yielded a result. 2
Saint86 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Played for half a game again. But when we play we're good. So frustrating that we kept Martin so long that now its too late and the player's mentality/morale/confidence is shot. Great to see taul paul scoring at least. Lesley very very good when he came on. More bad luck really at the end with that clearance off the line. Its just one of those years for us sadly. 3
Matthew Le God Posted January 19 Posted January 19 (edited) 26 minutes ago, Chez said: I just want to point out that although he has done it for us in the past in the championship, that doesn't mean he will definitely do it in the future (next season). He's not guaranteed to score 25 goals for us next year. He's going nowhere, so all we can do is hope he does. Sure it isn't a guarantee, but it is a pretty good indicator of what he can do at that level. Less of a risk than bringing someone else in to score Championship goals. obelisk Posted January 19 Posted January 19 How is that not a last minute free kick to Saints? Taylor is rubbish 1

stknowle Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Proved we can mix it with the big boys in that 2nd half. That SEVENTH point of this epic season is tantalisingly close. 3
Chez Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Just now, benjii said: Clear foul on Smallbone there and I, for one, am confident we would have dispatched the free kick. Yep. A quick player transfer, got JWP on and boom. 1
Viking Saint Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Combine the first 70 minutes against United and the last 20 from today and we'd be top four. It's in there.... 4

OttawaSaint Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Just now, benjii said: Clear foul on Smallbone there and I, for one, am confident we would have dispatched the free kick. JWP sneaks on a Saints shirt, curls it home and we're all on the team bus and out of there before they realize what happened. 2 1
S-Clarke Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Second half was much better with Les in the middle and Armstrong out of the game, Downes is just a yard or 10 off the pace at this level and Armstrong just cannot hack it. The difference physicality and power makes in the PL is there to see. Damage was done though, they rallied a bit, but at the end of the day it's another loss and it's groundhog day in the main.
badgerx16 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Put the first 80 minutes against United with the last 20 of this match and we would give ourselves a chance. 2
Harry_SFC Posted January 19 Posted January 19 1 minute ago, BotleySaint said: Fatigue I think? Les didn't looked fatigued at the end when he ran back 50 yards to disposses Murillo. 1

obelisk Posted January 19 Posted January 19 If Bedders header had gone in might Saints have got a 4th? Took too long to get enough crosses in at the end though. 2

benjii Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Just need to stop giving soft goals away. To ship 3 in that first was criminal. Having watched a few matches this weekend, I am confident that this is a piss poor Premier League season and it's a real shame we couldn't be a bit more competitive. 2

Suhari Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Well, we are showing more fight and better organisation than under Russ. Still some very poor mistakes though. I feel some pride returning, along with much more enjoyment. Let's keep fighting. 2
