Les is on it. He looks a decent player to me. No idea what went wrong under RM, but he's been good in recent games.

Was just thinking the same.

He’s inconsistent which can happen with younger players in a new league with limited experience. Him and Downes should have playing together far more often which would have helped Flynn as well, but the bloke from Norwich didn’t agree.

Played for half a game again. But when we play we're good. So frustrating that we kept Martin so long that now its too late and the player's mentality/morale/confidence is shot.

Great to see taul paul scoring at least.

Lesley very very good when he came on.

More bad luck really at the end with that clearance off the line. Its just one of those years for us sadly.

I just want to point out that although he has done it for us in the past in the championship, that doesn't mean he will definitely do it in the future (next season). He's not guaranteed to score 25 goals for us next year. He's going nowhere, so all we can do is hope he does.

Sure it isn't a guarantee, but it is a pretty good indicator of what he can do at that level. Less of a risk than bringing someone else in to score Championship goals.

Clear foul on Smallbone there and I, for one, am confident we would have dispatched the free kick.

Yep. A quick player transfer, got JWP on and boom.

JWP sneaks on a Saints shirt, curls it home and we're all on the team bus and out of there before they realize what happened.

Second half was much better with Les in the middle and Armstrong out of the game, Downes is just a yard or 10 off the pace at this level and Armstrong just cannot hack it. The difference physicality and power makes in the PL is there to see.

Damage was done though, they rallied a bit, but at the end of the day it's another loss and it's groundhog day in the main.

Just need to stop giving soft goals away. To ship 3 in that first was criminal.

Having watched a few matches this weekend, I am confident that this is a piss poor Premier League season and it's a real shame we couldn't be a bit more competitive.

If Bedders header had gone in might Saints have got a 4th? Took too long to get enough crosses in at the end though.

At least we got crosses in. Wouldn't have happened with Russball.

No one is buying him, so it matters not.

Well, we are showing more fight and better organisation than under Russ.

Still some very poor mistakes though.

I feel some pride returning, along with much more enjoyment.

Let's keep fighting.
