Do we still parade the Pride of the South banner in the Northam wall?

That will look class when Bournemouth hit us for 9 in a few weeks time.

The wholesale reorganisation of SMS to create the so-called “Northam Wall Of Sound” has, without doubt, been a colossal failure and massive waste of money.

How have you come to that opinion though?

Don't get me wrong, the club have made a cluster fuck of nearly every single thing they've touched, but I think it's very, very hard to have a fair assessment of this change when the feeling of losing every week is there.

We haven't had an opportunity to 'create' a wall of sound to see us over the line in the later parts, because we're never in a position to be seen over the line - the game is always long gone by then.

The one game we didn't bother with the banner was against Everton and we won!

Sack them off, they're shit and it's even more embarrassing when we're bottom of the league.

It hasn't been too bad at all in my eyes/ears. But it is hard to truly judge it when all we do is lose games of football at our home ground.

But based on what we've seen I think us fans have all been hero's this year and the club should fricking well reimburse us all in some way, I'm being serious too.

I agree with this. I won't be renewing unless there's a price drop because this season has been a complete waste of money.

I don't pay out expecting wins but I expect us to be competitive at the bare minimum.

Must admit i was massivley sceptical about the new Northam layout - but then i always enjoyed the atmosphere with the away fans just a few metres away.

I've been pleasantly suprised with how quickly i've forgotten about it though; in fact given our situation it's been pretty unbelievable.

Anyone know when we will start picking up the points that were guarenteed to come our way by moving away fans to the corner? I thought a Kop end was going to make us invincible at home. 🤷‍♀️

Impossible with the players we can put out on a PL pitch.

More confident it could make a difference next season tho.

English test cricket team had the most passionate and noisy fans 1993-2003 in the Ashes but a chunky blond genius of a leg spinner and a very tall consistent metronomic bloke from NSW kept on bowling us out. When we did finally get a team who could compete by 2005 with 3 genuine quicks, a skilful swing bowler, and a good top order with less fear of winning against the Aussies, the atmosphere at Edgbaston, Trent Bridge and The Oval helped us home.

Same with football, the crowd can be a genuine gain but it’s not a big margin if there is a big gap in ability and belief. Like the Ashes, the Australians had the Academy system in the 1990s rolling off talent, we had the County system without central contracts, and Saints have been more badly run 2016-date than any other top flight club.

Saturday, when we scored the Northam sounded awesome and the Bournemouth team and fans wilted a bit. I was at the other end of the stadium and the noise was brilliant. We just need stuff to lift us. Te away fans have been moved, get over it. Longterm it will be a benifit

It wasn't just the Northam, the whole crowd were singing and it's pretty impressive when that happens, especially in current circumstances!

Fair point, but the Northam generated the noise and atmosphere to get that going. Stuff the standing by the away fans, let the Northam mature into what is should have been since day 1, our end
