FarehamSaintJames Posted Sunday at 18:09 Posted Sunday at 18:09 (edited) Might as well start this now, that way we have a week of comedy to be excited about in this thread. 🤣 I’m more fascinated to know of anyone that has bought a ticket and is still planning on going - why? Is it wanting to get behind the team? Is it the fact you’ve paid and don’t want to be out of pocket for nothing? Is your local comedy club closed that day? Is your mother-in-law down? Do you want have a few words with the SR group? What’s motivating you to go, or to not go? Oh, and what are your predictions. Edited Sunday at 18:14 by FarehamSaintJames 1
SaintNewForest Posted Sunday at 18:11 Posted Sunday at 18:11 Anyone know what time the ownership group arrive? Can we welcome them with a protest against their ineptness? 5

Harry_SFC Posted Sunday at 18:20 Posted Sunday at 18:20 Wouldn't mind seeing O'Brien-Whitmarsh and a few of the younger players. Aribo, Bree etc can just piss off at this point. 1
Pamplemousse Posted Sunday at 19:02 Posted Sunday at 19:02 I genuinely couldn't care less, I'm glad I'm not going. 6
FarehamSaintJames Posted Sunday at 19:04 Author Posted Sunday at 19:04 I don’t have a season ticket. I went to the Stoke reserves game and was massively underwhelmed. There is no benefit to me paying £30-40 for a match to watch this shit. It’s been a lot easier and more fun to make that weekly betting against the club because it’s so predictable.
OttawaSaint Posted Sunday at 19:07 Posted Sunday at 19:07 Big 6 pointer this one! Expecting more misery.
jasonbenali Posted Sunday at 20:31 Posted Sunday at 20:31 Too soon! Not sure I can cope with another game after Saturday...
Football Special Posted Sunday at 20:43 Posted Sunday at 20:43 Looks like we've sold about 6000 tickets, doubt it will rise much higher, I know we don't have a fans spokesman but clearly a "boycott" going on, we had about 23k in the same round last year v Walsall (pricing was better and sat 3pm) not many expected to travel from Swansea either. 4.30pm on a fucking Sunday evening just so BBC bloody Wales and BBC iplayer can show it , I'm sure millions will tune in. I'm ashamed to say I have a ticket. Still clutching on to the old days when the FA Cup conjured excitement in the fans. 3
trousers Posted Sunday at 21:33 Posted Sunday at 21:33 @stevegrant - if you could schedule another 48 hour downtime window next weekend that would be very much appreciated. Cheers 👍 22

bpsaint Posted Sunday at 23:14 Posted Sunday at 23:14 I might buy a ticket purely so I can go along, find a prime spot for the Tv cameras, by the bench or in front of the directors box, and hold up a massive sign that says “Rasmus Ankersen is a cunt”. With a bit of luck I’ll get banned for 3 years. 4 12

Micky Posted Monday at 06:07 Posted Monday at 06:07 Respect to anyone who is going, the club do not deserve you. 5
AlexLaw76 Posted Monday at 06:20 Posted Monday at 06:20 What’s the point? probably win, by virtue of having better players…. Like much of last season
OnceaSaintalwaysaSaint Posted Monday at 09:02 Posted Monday at 09:02 Must admit, I don't watch the U21s, but is there anyone who could be given a go in this game? Two schools of thought. Either Juric puts out what he thinks to be his strongest team and starts to get them playing as a unit. He's effectively got 18 friendlies + a cup run to sort out a team capable of competing; or b) work on the basis that a lot of the current first team will be gone in the summer, so play a few youngsters with promise. Sam AA for one. 1
spyinthesky Posted Monday at 09:24 Posted Monday at 09:24 I have a ticket and expect to sit in an almost empty stadium listening to a thousand or so Swansea fans taking the piss out of us and our association with our dear departed Manager. Perhaps Juric will pick a side likely to represent us in the Championship next season which is likely to result in a dispiriting 2-0 defeat against a team that was spanked 4-0 down the road recently and make our collective feeling of acute depression even worse and underline the challenges to be competitive next season. McCarthy Bree Taylor Downes Wood Bednerak Amo Ameyo Aribo (!!!) Manning Archer Armstrong 1 1
Stripey McStripe Shirt Posted Monday at 10:38 Posted Monday at 10:38 Absolutely buzzing for this one. Should be a great game. Hoping for a solid performance and maybe snatch a 1-1 draw. 1 7
coalman Posted Monday at 10:53 Posted Monday at 10:53 It's an opportunity for a real statement of intent for next season but without our talismanic manager, Russell Martin, we're going to struggle to impose any kind of walking game on Swansea. Reduced to having to run and maybe even tackle we'll be spent by midway through the second half. #trustTheProcess 2
ally_uk Posted Monday at 11:03 Posted Monday at 11:03 Couldn't give a shit same as this season write the whole lot off 2
suewhistle Posted Monday at 12:13 Posted Monday at 12:13 Fortunately I'm playing on Sunday, at some stage, thank goodness for rolling subs at our level. Did I consider splashing out £30 to watch Saints and to avoid standing freezing on some muddy touchline? Did I buggery. 2 3
Baird of the land Posted Monday at 12:42 Posted Monday at 12:42 I would just like to see Onachu and archer on the same pitch at the same time. It may be a disaster but what have we got to lose at this point. If ABK is still here you'd hope we might see him. 4

Saint Fan CaM Posted Monday at 14:47 Posted Monday at 14:47 Difficult to get excited about this in the slightest. The morale and belief across the team must be rock bottom - so much so that another loss is almost inevitable. 1-2 Swansea.

macca155 Posted Monday at 20:41 Posted Monday at 20:41 Taking the opportunity to take my 6yo Grandson to the game. He beat me at Monopoly so this is his punishment. Relatively cheap and surely there has to be a response. Swansea were taken apart by Pompey, so surely it's reasonable to be positive about this one. I assume Downes and Ramsdale will be rested to help with injuries. Onuachu and Sulemana probably sold by then I'd go with McCarthy Sugawara ABK Wood Manning Ugochikwa O'Brien-Whitmarsh Fernandes Lallana SAA Archer I know it isn't Juric's favourite formation, but there really isn't any call for 3 CHs. That team should destroy Swansea. There is a lot of Championship talent in there, with more on the bench. So hopefully they'll avoid conceding 5...
spyinthesky Posted Monday at 21:07 Posted Monday at 21:07 I guess you have seen O'Brien-Whitmarsh playing? Presume he is decent.

Precious little other than what I read from other posters. However he seems to be highly thought of. Bought from Cork, U19 and U21 Irish international. He clearly isn't some wet behind the ears 16 yo. He's 19, experienced and a regular for the under 21s and a successful season in the Irish league under his belt. With the midfield in its current perilous state, he has to be worth a start in a cup game, otherwise what is the point of signing him. 2

Has been playing regularly for the U21s, came on for us in the League Cup vs Cardiff. No idea what he's like as I don't watch the younger sides. 2

I’ve got it on good authority that we’re going to give Swansea every bit of support to ease us out of the competition so we can concentrate on our Premiership survival fight. We’re so kind hearted like that. One might say Saintsy. 😉

redkeith Posted Tuesday at 07:55 Posted Tuesday at 07:55 This match is free on BBC2 Wales, so at least I will be able to see all, the goals we let in, unlike Saturday when the first Brentford goal was lost to buffering. Hope that Aribo is dropped for this one. His tracking of runners is at Sunday League , 10 pints on Saturday night levels. 1
