And the comment from Wotte sounds uncannily like many from Lowe over the years. We need his wages off the wage bill...

No....Rudi should have beeb playing midfield but the clueless dutch team decided he would be better at left back, where to be fair he did a decent job. McLaggon.. better asset ...maybe but really just hopeful speculation.. Dyer is a better asset than both Smith and McLaggon but the club give him a contract and then try to offload him...more evidence of idiotic management. hughieslastminutegoal Posted 30 January, 2009 Share Posted 30 January, 2009 Rubbish. Overrated, over-hyped when he came here, under-performed ever since. Hertha didn't want him so he pretends he came back here through choice. Pull the other one. If he was over hyped..whose fault was that? Given some of the under performances we have had in the last few seasons he was far,far from the worst offender. The bit about Hertha not wanting him is pure speculation/hearsay... He has done ok despite being told by Lowe to find another club as you won`t play here again...

Hertha didn't want him so he pretends he came back here through choice. Pull the other one. Rudi is an OK player but not great on a like for like value for money basis. Not compared to an average CCC midfielder (or left back) performing consistently in a rival side for half of the money. Having said that he did earn us a bit of money by appearing in Euro 2008 so you'd have to set that off against his salary this season.

Window Cleaner Posted 30 January, 2009 Share Posted 30 January, 2009 Subtle. I thought it was a serious post till I got to that bit - good one! Dyer, well yes apparently Swansea are thinking of offering us 500K for him,Sheffield having laughed in our face when they saw what they'd be getting for their 1.2 million. We shousd have let him go on tribunal payment last summer(except that nobody wanted him and he didn't want to play for Eastleigh). We'd have got more than the paltry 500K (club record) Swansea are thinking of offering us. We got 650K for Best.

Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 30 January, 2009 Share Posted 30 January, 2009 which club is he off too? anyone know? Seeing as there's still no news as to who this mystery club is, it makes me wonder if it's FC Twente and was in some way tied in to our move for Denneboom and that's why the latter deal fell through? Wotte did say we needed to be more creative in our dealings and a player swap could cost little.

musesaint Posted 31 January, 2009 Share Posted 31 January, 2009 Rudi is out becuase he crossed Lowe - it's as simple as that He was told pre-season leave or rot in the reserves We only played him part way through the season when things got desparate ...and he did made a positive difference at the back and with his crosses He then stupidly spoke out again after the wages figures were leaked to the press ...and was then told he'd never play another game for Saints What sort of club is it that treats one of our most talented players like that? The irony is that whilst he's been sidelined and we have slid towards League 1 we have still been paying his wages ffs! The same could be said of Euell What in God's name do Lowe and the other idiots on our board think they are doing? Their inflated egos will take this club into League 1 and adminsitration... in fact it's probably too late to save ourselves anyway I'll continue to support Saints and the players on the pitch whatever happens ...but the sight of Lowe's smug face as he rapes this club with his mis-management is something real fans should not have to stomach
sadoldgit Posted 31 January, 2009 Share Posted 31 January, 2009 I would happily take that money to be badly treated week in week out. Why is it that football is so different to the real world? Okay, so footballers have short careers. There is not such thing for a job for life for anyone. What is stopping them from getting another job when this one finishes? With the ridiculour money many of them earn they could buy a house outright and not have to worry about a mortgage like the rest of us. These people get paid to do what most of us (when we are young and fit) happily do for nothing and good luck to them. If Skacel is being so badly treated here why didn't he go to Ipswich when had had the chance? Because of cash. He chose to stay and be treated badly rather than take a bit less money and be treated better elsewhere. Your choice Rudi mate. I would swap my situation with yours any day of the week. Well said SOG , There our countless people out in the real world working hard all their lives for minimum wage in awful jobs with nothing more to look forward to other than the miserable state pension . The career problems of any player fortunate enough to be earning £10k a week to kick a football around (part-time) seem pretty trivial in comparison . By that logic any problems you have in your life are insigificant in comparison to 95% of the world that lives in poverty, but I bet your problems feel really enough to you. Sure, Rudi is a fortunate guy, but Saints offered him a contract to play football and now they try and force him out. If you had a contract and leaving would cost you a minimum of £100k a year, would you do it? Rudi has been nothing but professional when he's been asked to play for us, but St Mary's can't a good place to be as an experienced pro. It suits Saints for him to go, he wants to go, really what is the problem with him engineering a move away??? Rudi - shame it didn't work out as we hoped, but thanks for the efforts.
