But if the lesson is, "brutally cull poor players" then, yes, I agree.

Not adding proper strength compared to last season in centre mid, centre back and centre forward (we're actually worse, without Che) was idiotic.

I'm not sure you can use that season as the reason they are now 2nd in the league.

They were absolutley shite that year, stayed up by a whisker after spending multi millions. The following seasons were equally shit.

They're just having one of those seasons where things click, they've built on a Nuno Espirito-Santo mould - very solid, hard to break down.
