OldNick Posted 28 December, 2024 Posted 28 December, 2024 I read that we and other clubs promoted are hampered by FFP rules. I wonder what are the sanctions, is it 10 point penalty. If so it may be worth that to try and strengthen the squad like Forest, Leicester and Everton did as the penalties never covered what they gained. Leicester never even got theirs !! I may be talking nonsense but if it is a 10 point penalty worth the gamble as the way it going if you get promoted youre going to go down dismally anyway

If the clubs voted for it then I suppose so but Leicester did not get a penalty and so was the intention that if you wronged you got a penalty?

SaintNewForest Posted 28 December, 2024 Posted 28 December, 2024 Don't the sanctions (or lack of, depending on which club is violating the rules) depend on the club and its value to the PL brand?

Villa qualify for the champions league but have to sell to comply, Chelsea don’t but can still spend £200m this year £400m the year before and £550m the year before that. As each season goes by we see any hope of the smaller clubs getting close to the big 6 Although to be fair Forest are having a go, but like the season Leicester won the league the real players were in transition and so Forest can be up there but we all know that can't last.
Doctoroncall Posted Thursday at 08:05 Posted Thursday at 08:05 13th January is the day we find out which clubs need to answer for any PSR breaches. it will then come down to whether club lawyers can state the rules do not apply.
East Kent Saint Posted Thursday at 08:38 Posted Thursday at 08:38 Leicester face charges again , last time they got away by filing their accounts after relegation so claimed they wern't in the Prem so rules didn't apply to them so got off the hook !!!

Their fans are so entitled and have an opinion of their club being much bigger/important than they are.

What a nasty comment most fans are just like us and want the best for their clubs I used to live in Leicestershire and most of my mates supported them and they have won more trophies and been to more finals than we have isince I started supporting the Saints 1 2

Just as you have lived in Leicestershire doesn't mean I can't have a dislike of their fanbase. Yes they have won a lot more than us. Since Ive been going in the late 1960's they were also rans, much like us, difference is they were in the lower leagues below us a lot of the time. They started to pick up under O'neill and won a couple League cups, before the more recent highs. The recent history has made their fans entitled and arrogant, only have to listen to them on the radio and their cocky opinions of grandeur. Anyway, thats my opinion and im sure your friends are decent but overall I feel their fans are awful

Perennial cheats, and an absolute shit of a person as their talisman player. 1

All that said, I wonder what our collective view would be if we had, as reported at the time, signed him (for approx £1m? when he was playing for Fleetwood. Whatever we all say about the git, you can't dispute his ability to score goals and if he had signed for us, VVD would not have got crocked.

As Farmer would point out, cows are generally found in a field. Vardy is a thick potty-mouthed weasel-faced runt, has always been so. When he was at Fleetwood he was asked to visit the primary school my wife taught in. Every other word he uttered was 'fuck' or 'fucking'. Edited Friday at 09:45 by badgerx16 1
Patches O Houlihan Posted Friday at 11:49 Posted Friday at 11:49 (edited) I'm glad you guys seem to share the same opinion of Vardy that I have. Absolute cock socket It's a toss up between him and Bruno Fernandes for who is the most hateful player in the PL. Edited Friday at 11:49 by Patches O Houlihan 3
coalman Posted Friday at 15:06 Posted Friday at 15:06 Whatever FFP sanctions are they can't be as bad as the penalties for letting Rasmus and Henrik loose with the owners credit card. 1
