Thick and fast Xmas schedule. It’ll be interesting to see how much IJ deviates from todays team. I’d be include to go for Manning on the left and Suga on the bench personally. If we’re trailing with nothing to lose, the latter can put a decent cross in but if we’re trying to keep it tight at the back, the bloke is a Tommy Cooper tribute act. Hopefully Archer is well enough to replace the useless Armstrong too.

Yep, you could argue Dibling but for whatever reason he just isn't at the races at the moment.

18 year old kid having a dip in form - I’m not concerned. I’d rather it wasn’t happening this very moment but was bound to happen at some stage.
Agree with the team listed, our best 11 at the moment

Because we are far too reliant on an 18 year old to provide our only genuine creative talent. Livramento also started to look jaded around this time in his first season, Newcastle have been much more sensible in managing his minutes. Hopefully Dibling doesn’t go the way of him, Lavia and all the other young talents asked to do too much too young, like Michael Owen and Lee Holmes.

BBD as a centre forward? Surely a better option that out on the wing.

We finally use a centre forward that holds the ball up and gets on the end of balls into the box causing problems for the defence and you want to drop him after one non-scoring game for BBD.

Onuachu deserves a run of starts.

Agree with this. Archer was on the bench yesterday so hopefully isn't too out of sorts. Still waiting for the Archer/TP up front pairing because Archer has genuine speed and doesn't get pushed off the ball so easily as Armstrong. Manning has also improved considerably this season and can cross the ball, albeit Suga is a better crosser. A bit concerned he may be tempted to shoehorn shoehorn.

Thankfully we won't be seeing shoehorn for a couple of weeks at least as he's injured.

Downes seemed to be feeling his groin (ooh err) when he came off yesterday. That means Aribo will probably be in for him. That won't improve things.

I did like the way Bendarek, THB, and Wood seemed to have license to push up in to the midfield to harass the opposition. That was pretty effective and rattled the West Ham players.

If Downes is struggling then I'd drop Fernandes deeper and stick Dibling in 10 position. Aribo does not fit the managers style at all.

This, although I'd probably start with Lallana instead of Dibbling. I think asking Dibbs to play No. 10 is too much pressure just now.

Not sure how we made 6 subs v WHU but I worry that too many changes just disrupts the Saints game plan. Non of the subs are like for like so the starting 11 normal plays a cohesive attempt of whatever plan we have then it falls apart. Is it me or are half the player not fit or less able to run/dribble with the ball. Palace game will be a trail and error training session. Put Dibling upfront with tall Paul and continue to cross balls in box.

Sarr will absolutely batter Taylor if he’s in there .. much rather we keep Kwp in there he looked back to his best yesterday… manning can cope with thb covering him in a 3 .. manning offensively is decent !

Please no. Just when the team are starting to actually show signs of playing we don't want BBD messing it up. Anyway, it's still panto season. He's busy playing the back end of a cow.

Can only hope he's offloaded in the January window.

Do you think the big man is going to be able to go given the short break? We hadn't seen him go 90 EVER.

But you are right, the man deserves another go if able.

I don't see any reason why not. He played regularly in Turkey last season, he isn't unfit far from it, he's as lean as anyone we've got.

What is the manager's style? Why does Aribo not fit it? Is it about him not getting around and up and down the pitch enough?

Juric needs to pull his finger out. Out of the three managers this season his league PPG is 0 compared to Martin's 0.31 and Rusk's 1.0.

Seriously though 2-1 to Saints.

Three points here and the dream starts. TP and Archer up front (if he's well enough).

Subs didn't add much against W. Ham. Is it time to bring back Sam AA? Certainly BBD can stay at home.

Expand

I'd leave young Sam at home, Palace are very physical side. Better to have Stewart on the bench, he is use to it.

Onuachu to start with BBD to replace him when he tires. I know and share everyone's views, but he's all we have as back up atm. Alternatively Archer and Arnstrong as a 2 pronged attack, I like that even less.

They need to maintain the pace and intensity for 90 minutes. That will require the subs being able to hit the ground running. That cuts out Aribo and Lallana. May see Manning and/or Bree brought in to boost the midfield.

Plus who the hell is going to deal with Mateta. He's looked a real handful recently. If only we had a tall pacy centre half ... 😕

Another battling draw I reckon.

Yeah I think with this potentially being his 300th EPL game plus IJ’s comments about him helping, reckon we’ll see him play but that might be off the bench. Big Less seems to be in favour so reckon it might be Lallana starting and Aribo or possibly Downes replacing him at 60-70 mins.
