Decent half, definitely a step in the right direction. Hopefully those three headers straight at the keeper don’t come back to haunt us. West Ham looking a bit blunt going forwards, I think they’re missing Antonio today.

I don't think he ever will, just not got the quality for me, championship player at best..... There that should do it!

Good point, good point...get that useless lanky twat off at half time!

Good 1st half from our point and also any neutral. We have looked to play forwards not sideways or back, when we have gone back Ramsdale has hoofed it clear of danger. Tall Paul showing what he can do, which is cause mischief and give us something to play out towards. Some good tackles by defence and the midfield is pressing well with options left and right.

Is optimism allowed?

Are these the same players?

Difficult to believe that only a couple of weeks later we look like a completely different team.

Not much scar tissue this time? Clearly Russ' nonsense didn't deeply impact the players....

Good attacking play, and yet I can't remember Adam Armstrong touching the ball 😂

I can remember some decent link up play down the left to be fair.

It's a mystery ever since we signed him, why tall Paul never given a proper chance. For a team in desperate need of a great striker it made zero sense.  So damn happy to see us now building our game plan around him. We deserve to be ahead. Huge second half coming up. I guess TP will be subbed pretty early. Would be unreal if he got his goal before that.

Really enjoyed the half. We pressed high, got the ball wide and crossed early. TP gives is a target and we are actually aiming for it. We are a totally different side with TP in it. A much better side I might add. On another day we might have scored three.

We look a different team, to the point it's making Martin look like Gross negiligent, Gross misconduct.

The fact we haven't been using Tall Paul up to this game is absolutely fucking criminal.

His work rate has ben off the charts.

Because his finishing is fucking shite

Well, that was something different.

We take the bright spots of Martin, in being able to pass really well into space across the team, and especially from the back. Arguably, we get back quickly defensively too, after all those corners where we had to run back. Mainly though, we don't panic.

To that, we harry, get space and worked really hard. It's rusty looking up front. TP will be dispapointed not to have had a goal. But he's been involved in practically everything. He shows that when he has space he has some pace. He's physical and skilled enough to shield it. If anything, and not unknown for tall players, his heading could have been a little sharper there.

really pleased for him as he's waited a long time for a system to give him a chance. Likewise the others who are working hard. Suga and KWP doing well, ably supported by hard work elsewhere.

After such a  different approach, I really hope we can keep the energy levels up, as we've gone tow to toe with WHU and come out the better team after that first half.

So much better to watch. Fuck off Martin - condemned us

We may well lose but you’re spot on, it is much better to watch. Actually feels like we’re trying to be dangerous (in their half) 😜

Two free headers one wide one at the keeper, should be scoring both of them

It seems like playing a recognised system and crossing the ball might work.  Who would've thought it!

That said, WHU have been a bit slack in defence and I'm sure they will tighten up. If we can keep it level, let's hope there's something for Dibbling / Archer.

Sorry just busy watching the highlights of all those good chances he buried in the first half.

Couldn’t find them, only some pointless tricks with nobody anywhere near him.

You seem to have a very weird chip on your shoulder. Is that you, Russ?

TP is making Lego look a bit of a cock for not playing him more , but big Les is making Lego look a massive cock for freezing him out. Fucking Will Smallbone 😂😂😂. Les is different gravy…

Best half of the season bar none. We’d have 5 or 6 more points had we sacked Lego in July. Anybody still defending him ?

Should be winning.

The difference in this team is incredible.

What a waste keeping ego man for so long

We would be much better off if Juric had come in months ago without a shadow of doubt

Three I thought. One straight at Fabianski, one at Areola’s feet and one wide. He’s had some excellent touches, like the chest down and pass for Suga and some crap ones, like the take down on the halfway line that ended up in a West Ham corner 10 seconds later. Hopefully he can get one in the net second half.

Great half, Downes has less to do and can protect the defence far more effectively. Love the way Ugochikwa is man marking Soucek. Stuck to him like glue.

Onauchu needs to enjoy the space he has so far, that won't last.

Wasn't the one straight at Fabianski from Fernandes?

They both had one didn’t they? MF down low and TP high and looping.

Yes Fernandes should have scored his. Onuachu was facing away from goal and forced Fabianski into a very good save, half chance at best. The other two he needs to do better with though.

His finishing hasn't been very good so far today. He's also given the ball away a lot. Not sure one decent chest control means he is worthy of "Motm", but he has at least been heavily involved.

I can totally understand why Selles and Martin didn't fancy him. However, the fact is, our other centre forwards have been pretty poor, so he deserves his chance.  He's subsequently given us a target to aim crosses at, which is better than whatever clueless attacking idea we had before.

He's done a lot more good work than one decent chest control.

He's also been in the position to head those chances whether he scored or not. How many shots on target in one game have any of our other players had all season? I bet it hasn't happened very often that they've got three or more.

How many games have we created this many chances? Not really a like for like comparison is it.
