Another plucky, goalless draw.  We cant buy a goal, so we should pray for the clean sheet. In Ramsdale We Trust.

Would be a good result to be honest, West Ham clear favourites for the win so anything better than that will take a good performance and deserve some credit.

Danny Ings to nick a 1-0 is my prediction

When Hasenhuttl joined there was a feel good factor although we then lost to Cardiff and slipped to bottom of the table, however his first home game we then beat Arsenal 3-2. I'd love for Juric to get us started with a win at home, it would lift the club so much and make the players feel like they CAN be part of this league, irrespective if it is only for the rest of this season.

West Ham's squad is clearly better than ours though but their form has been patchy. It's not inconceivable we can win this but we need to do something radical about our attack as we simply need to start creating and scoring more chances. It's early days but I think it can be done.

Too early though? We will see but it would make for a lovely Christmas for Saints fans to get 3 points on Thursday.

Merry Christmas to you all. Keep the faith no matter how far fetched that may be.

Their fans arent particularly enjoying this season, but we've heard that from other clubs this season who have still beaten us comfortably, particularly thinking Man Utd at home where we fell apart after bright start, could be similar.

A mixture of blind arrogance and fatal defeatism - a bit like on here.  I especially liked the post that said Ings would score all goals in a 3:1 win.  They have no more idea than we have.  Let’s hope the spirit of Atlanta inspires us to running the irons ragged.

2:1 to Saints!!!!  😇😇️ : ⚒️

Kwp.  Bednarek THB wood manning

Ugochuckwa downes

Dibling fernandes

Archer.

If wood hadn't have been playing well I'd be tempted with Taylor at LCB for a balanced team.

West ham are physical team we need to match that in midfield.

Potentially dibling could do with a rest but we have little quality to replace him with..

Fulkrieg to score anytime

I first picked up on the whole days off thing when Alfie House Tweeted that nobody would be at Staplewood for a couple of days as they all had Sunday's and Monday's off after a Saturday game, which I thought was odd, as it's rare for footballers to get two days off in a row in season, but passed it off as a modern thing. Then there was the whole build up to the Liverpool cup game, where I don't think we prepared for the game due to days off and now another one has popped up! It's well known that footballers don't get Christmas Day off with a Boxing Day game the next day, they may get a lighter session, but not a day off.

No wonder we've looked unfit for large parts of the season. Martin was too interested in being Mr. Nice guy, I fear. He needed an Andy Crosby alongside him, like Adkins.

Anyway, Dean Thornton has posted a picture with Gavin Bazunu in his training gear. I know it was rumoured months back that he could be in line for a January loan out and I think that would be the best for him.

If bazunu is fit, hopefully we sell him.

Glad to see them actually training. I imagine spending half their time away on holiday will be a big reason why they all look so unfit.

West Ham have looked absolute shite every time. I’ve watched them this season, but they still have a much better squad. It will be tough but I’d be very happy with a point tbh.

This is a certified guranteed win and i am gutted i wont see it.

I have just recieved an invite from an american with no respect for boxing day traditions that is forcing me to attend their house for drinks and steaks from 4pm and i dont even like them and they have a kid from hell.

Pray for me, its not just jesus who sacrificed himself for others.

If that was the routine, it's hard to believe everyone at the club was on board with it? Sounds like absolute amateur hour. Did no-one call him out on this bullshit? Or were those the players who never got to play or even make the bench? 🤯

I'd be round yours no problem as you'd watch the game, but this invite is a self serving one where they talk about themselves to a captured audience.

Honestly my phone will be charged, i will have it on sportsmania app when i can but only for 5mins at a time.

But to our medical friends i have a quick question, if i have diarrhea how many visits to the toilet is believeable before they call an ambulance ?

So Juric makes them train on Xmas day.

Good.

Let's have it right.

Russell Martin was a flipping clown.

So reading comments, if I understand correctly, he gave the players 2 days off after a game?

So basically, he'd have to remind the players of fuckups when they rolled in 2 days later by which point they've completely fucking forgotton, and repeat the exact same errors the very next game.

Genius that.

So a game on sunday, meant the players would return on Wednesday...then 2 days later a game on Saturday?

I must have that completely wrong because that is batshit to me.

If true, our current situation is on SportsRepublic for allowing that kind of tenure.

Good grief.

Flabbergasted they weren't asked to train on Christmas day., ridiculous.

My expectations for tomorrow are low. Juric can't do much in a couple of days. Hopefully another battling performance for a draw or narrow win.

Stop the rot and start making progress, that's the order of the day.

Same team as Sunday except I'd have Dibling on the bench. That lad needs to be carefully managed.

In Ivan The Bastard we trust. I want to see water bottles kicked, fourth officials harrangued, and referee's assistants intimidated. We've been too nice for too long. Win ugly and win often and we will be fine.

Macca is right, Dibling has looked a bit out of sorts and does look tired - he's a young lad playing in a high intensity league and has never had the best fitness. I'd be surprised if he started tomorrow and against Palace.

Anyone know if there’s a way to remove my ticket from the ticket exchange? Was due to be seeing family tomorrow but that’s changed….and my seat hasn’t sold yet. Any ideas?

Found the Alfie House Tweet: https://x.com/AlfieHouseEcho/status/1866123374168047776 - Russell Martin is currently still in charge and the expectancy is that he will be for Sunday, Staplewood is quiet because Sunday/Monday have been days off this year. All back in tomorrow so if that changes it would only be down to conversations they've had together.

Bizarre.

This is spot on. What were Sports Republic doing allowing Martin to run the team on a part timers basis???

The owners really were as incompetent as Martin to allow this ludicrous situation to develop and continue.

I do agree he could be benched, but I would definitely play someone else in his place, we need 11 players on the pitch.

Is this a must won game? Wolves, Ipswich and Leicester all look to have games in which they ought to get nothing (hopeful thinking), so we need to take advantage and close the gap. A draw is good considering our form over the season, but in truth it is not enough to keep drawing and thinking that will help. OK, most think we are already down and I can see why. But there is still a chance and i am quite certain IJ will be telling the players that. We have to start winning. A win today and defeats for all the others around us makes the table look much better all of a sudden where as a draw just does not make enough difference for me.

17 Leicester  14

18 Wolverhampton Wanderers 12

19 Ipswich Town 12

20 Southampton 9

Problem with that is no one else wants to go either so they would grass me up

Anyway I have a positive mindset.

As sandwich saint so nicely called him Ivan the Bastard is giving us a christmas miracle and its 2-0 saints.

He also ensures the cosmic forces send a lightening bolt to the VAR at stockley park and destroy their systems so they can't try to stop the juggernaut from starting.

This is all part of the masterplan as we go for the premier leagues most improved team this season and our 20 game underfeated run starts now.
