Ivan Juric

I think the fact that there should be very little pressure here should help Juric immensely .at Roma he came in after a club legend in de Rossi had been sacked and wasn’t a big enough name to appease . So was never wanted a bit like nj here.

but following from Russell Martin just not being a stubborn naive philosophy manager and setting up hard to beat will win fans over a lot .. seems like a good appointment for the timing

We needed a clear change of tactics and we will get this. I suspect the damage is already done but hopefully we can try and get a bit closer to the  top of the drop zone. If we can start keeping clean sheets then we have a fighting chance, guaranteed to pick up at least 1 point if we do that.

Honestly i cant wait to see what apple products he release's whilst he's here.

But glad he has spent the last few days watching our games to find out what's wrong as it should be quite clear.

Couple of thoughts

His first interview ended with him saying the word “premiership”. MLG and his ilk must hate him already. Excellent.

ABK - if he doesn’t play within a couple of weeks will we all please finally agree that the issue is ABK and his attitude rather than 4 different sets of managers and coaches?

Lots of talk that this could/should mark the end of Stephens being selected regularly, but am I the only one thinking that Jack's 'have a go' attitude could actually be more suited to Juric's more 'rugged' approach to the game?

Or, it might be that he would like to play him but it's out of his hands because the club's hierarchy have already decided to offload him on 1st January...? i.e. Juric might have been the manager to turn around ABK's attitude issues but we'll never get to find out...

I think the starting position should be Stephens isn't captain and isn't played in a unique position just to get him in the side. If we're playing a back 4 and he's not one of our best 2 centre backs he shouldn't be on the pitch. Same if a back 5 and top 3.

Welcome Ivan happy you are here and all the best of luck! ..... You will certainly need it with the task at hand noone is envying you. Couldn't care less about wether it's pretty football right now we just need to become much harder to beat and stop conceding so many goals and build on that!.... This has to be a positive appointment and  not yet another SR disaster as they are on borrowed time and are as much to blame as Russell Martin in my opinion! Along with Nathan Jones never a premier league manager.

I'm not sure if this is a bat shit crazy appointment or something else, but he's here, he's our manager so I'll back him. ...at least until it goes tit's up again. UTS.

Should be a better atmopsphere at St Marys on Wednesday with a little more optimism and anticipation, although today might have a little bearing on that...

I wonder what he made of that. Guess he'll be pleased with the clean sheet but not much else.

Everytime they cut away to him he looked somewhere between thoughtful and pissed off I thought. Quite a few exasperated hand waves which looked like they were accompanying a 'FFS' followed by talking to his assistant. 👍🏼

For me there is a bit of the Maurizio Sarri about him. Quietly tough talking, doesn't give a shit attitude. Will have to see, have only seen 3 mins of interviews so far.

Fucking hell, Blackmore doesn’t half come out with some shite. Nobody is writing him off or not giving him a chance. The reaction is pretty positive from what I’ve seen.

BBC Radio Solent sports editor Adam Blackmore has urged supporters to give Juric "a chance".

“People will want to quote his bad spell at Roma or say he hasn't managed in England before”

Blackmore gauges fans reactions by what's on twitter, and twitter has been full of idiots slating the managerial appointment.

Welcome Ivan, give it your best shot.

Its just a shame the clowns running our club let the utter clown continue with his clueless management for so long and didn't give you a better chance

He speaks very well. I do think he's being a little naive about our predicament when he says 'get the points over the next few games' but he's hardly going to say "we're fucked, I'm here for the dosh" so, as you say, he seems like a breath of fresh air right now. Whether he can do anything remotely better than Martin with this squad remains to be seen but that's not exactly a high bar.

well it's humble start, but ONE point so far at least.

I thought the same thing when I read that and an added benefit would be if it doesn't work out and we still look to get rohl in the summer there would be continuity of system at least.

Brownmore appears up his own arse and out of touch with the core support on most things, and always takes the club line to preserve his position and 'contacts'.  Everyone I've spoken to seemed pleased to see the back of Martin and has welcomed the arrival of Ivan Juric, in the hope that he has the tools and experience to make Saints competitive again.  Then again, a majority would have probably welcomed Ivana Jurex if it meant seeing the back of turgid Rusty!

I hope his first act is to strip Stephens of captaincy.

I saw a comment about our new man which said something like, "Never has there been a manager who looked more like they are wearing a disguise without wearing a disguise." Good luck to him.

When I saw him in the stands, I thought Rasmus had brought his Granddad to watch the game. He didn't inspire me, but fair do's, give him a chance. He may turn out to be this dynamic, super fit, footballing genius, heavily disguised as a old has been.
