All of that makes him the perfect fall guy too, and he’ll be handsomely rewarded for it.
We complete the 38 games. Juric returns to the continent. We dust ourselves down and hope Johannes has a fucking good plan.

Nobody wants to be relegated with ‘worst PL team ever’ on their CV, so it’s a bit odd to suggest he’s not really bothered about our fate. He’ll want to succeed and prove himself as best he can, same as any other manager we might have appointed. He’s only 49 too, so this is hardly one last, easy payday before he retires.

Please tell me you're joking! The irony is, with SR I could believe it to be true! I think that would be the end of my over 55-years as a Saints fan, there's just so much punishment you can take.

Would rather bring back Ronald (or even Poch when he gets fired by the US). Ronald at least is well versed in having no players when he arrives.

Just making light of your impatience as we wait for our return the Championship to begin.

Honestly, there is no cause for alarm, apart from everything we've witnessed across our last two attempts in the Premier League.

There is NOT chance in hell these fucking idiots would be able to sell themselves to Sam Allardyce having seen what a clusterfuck they've created since the day they walked in the doors.

Also, it'as clear as the light of day, Allardyce isn't the type of appointment they'd make.

These clowns appointed Jones, Martin and Juric after (in their own words) tracking them for months.

In Nathan Jones case, for 2 years.

Top banter, top banter.

Would love Ralph back as i'm sure he'd get us sorted, but sadly there is no chance he would ever come back. Reality is that he's a quality manger who is now onto a good thing in Germany. Also, why would he even come back? Our owners have been appalling since they came in, undermined him on the coaching and player front, and frankly much of our fanbase treated him pretty poorly as well over that final season. If we want Ralph back, then Rohl is likely as close as we'll get - but what is truly bizarre is that SR have already done a great job of getting rid of Ralph, his style, and utterly changing our general player profiles/types - only to be seemingly going back on it all with Rohl? 😂

Simon Rusk has already demonstrated he can get a tune, at least defensively, from the team, so he's the obvious candidate to take over if we decide Juric has already done too much damage

He got one 0-0 in a game when Fulham missed a bunch of chances and Ramsdale made a couple of decent saves. He hasn’t demonstrated anything and there’s no reason to think he’d be an improvement on Juric.

In the context of the season, we had just lost 5-0 in the game prior, and it was a much improved defensive display. Fulham had a couple of chances but we negated their play well.

I feel none of this nostalgia for Ralph, he was another one trick pony that failed to adapt once  everyone had learned to nullify his style. It's where we went after that that's the problem.

Incidentally, in the very interesting Spors article in the DE he seems to have a fair bit of admiration for Ivan

From the Daily Echo;

I know Ivan Juric for a very long time. Not that we worked together or had a relationship before we met here. He worked in Italy and I was in Italy.
I was always very impressed by the achievements that he had. He really stabilised difficult environments, especially defensively.
He made sure that his clubs not only stabilised but also grew again. It’s not a secret and he is the first one to say this to you when you interview him…
He is not satisfied that this development is not visible here yet. I’m here to observe this, of course. I’m here to help him wherever I can.
That’s the situation where we are at the moment. The manager at the moment is Ivan and will be Ivan. There is no other decision taken.

And he has stabilised us. We can now go into every game safely in the knowledge of getting nothing out of it. 🙂

The excitement an hour and a quarter  before kick off… I’ll always be grateful for that, never truly knowing what fucking hare brained selection / line up we were about to see.

We lost 5-0 at home to Brentford, then in our next league outing put in a much improved performance at OT. Even teams as appalling as we are have relatively good and bad performances. Fulham was obviously a better day than Spurs but with less favourable wind that game is another 2/3-0 defeat, on par with the rest of our season.

It is bad now as you say but,

I know you are still bitter but don't forget the utterly ridiculous V attacking* formation by your hero

* the word attacking only used to describe area of pitch but not actually performed

Yep, brain fart material.  Think we only saw "the V" once though.

Noted that bit, worrying if they seriously want to carry on with him next season.

I still think it was a stop-gap appointment and expect a change at the end of the season.

The decision to take by the rest of us if he remains is whether to renew the ST or not. Perhaps that's a local cultural issue Mr Spors hasn't had to weigh up yet.

Too right.  I won’t renew if they keep Juric, and I’m sure I won’t be alone.

I've got to the stage where I know f**k all about tactics but genuinely think I could have done a better job of managing this mob than Juric (or RM!). Juric tries man-marking. Don't have a problem with that but it doesn't work so move on. Juric tries a back five but it doesn't work, so move on. He then goes for a back four at Liverpool and strengthens the midfield (like it) and for a while it looks ok so then he shouldn't move on. But he does....reverting to a back five! And all the stuff about him being the tough guy who would add metal to the team hasn't materialised either.

In the situation we were in, there was no way we were going to bring in a Moyes, but once again, I feel we missed a trick with Juric. Yes, it was always going to be a tough ask to turn our fortunes around, but I was hoping for a fitter team with a more positive approach and have seen neither.

Wolves at home tells you everything you need to know on whether IJ is a good prospect for us going forward, if there was any doubt beforehand.  We've put up with some surprising shit this season but fuck me everything about the Wolves games left me asking why??  It was like the football manager's equivalent of a fucking suicide note - someone please put him out of his misery!

Sheffield Wednesday are having a cashflow crisis, have failed to pay their players on time, and now face a transfer embargo and a possible points deduction.

If ever we wanted to approach Rohl and get him lined up to replace Juric for next season, now would be the time to do it.

Breach of contract? Rohl could walk free and join Saints??

Well I feel the players fought for him and us last night, and when players left the field they acknowledged IJ in a warm way. Im not saying we should keep him, but he is not as disliked as some like to believe

I like him more than any manager we’ve had in a very long time. I don’t have an issue if he stays. Spors seems to rate him, give him the players he needs and a full pre season he could do the job.

He picked Bree and Aribo at centre back when there were other options available. And after that experiment proved to be a disaster he did exactly the same in the next game. With the same result. (Other examples of his coaching insanity can be provided if required)

We were better last night … I still don’t want him anywhere near the club next season.

Against a Palace side who in league terms are well and truly already on the beach.  Keeping their powder dry for the cup.
