A bizarre appointment from day one!

Saying that was it any more of a mismatch than selles/Jones/Russell Martin?

Hmm probably worse than those?

"Sky Sports News understands Simon Rusk will take the team until the end of the season. Rusk took charge briefly when Russell Martin, Juric's predeessor, left St Mary's. Adam Lallana will also be involved in the new set-up."

Yay!!!

A world class coach and motivator if ever I saw one!

Jones, Selles, Martin, Juric.

If ever you wonder why we’re in such a mess, there’s your answer right there. What a fucking shit show from Sport Republic. I have zero faith they’ll get the next appointment right, and it’s probably one of the most important appointments we’ve had in generations.

Another awful, bizarre and pointless hire by the clowns at Sport Republic.  I almost feel sorry for Juric.  Not his fault he was offered the job but he was out of his depth from day 1.  Can't wait to see what next avantgarde appointment out of the left-field they decide to bring in next.

We do rate him especially after last seasons rescue act.

Danny has worked to a certain extent with one hand tied behind his back with this owner but also don't believe he is the messiah we perhaps thought.

We are on course for our worst home record for 50 years and a good run of away results have really kept us away from a relegation struggle.  We seem to have very slow starts in games and have relied on a few comebacks, which in itself is a good thing.

Also he brought in 9 players in the Summer and very few have been a success as well as wasting the money we had on Ike Ugbo who has no goals or assists in 30 games.  The team are still very reliant on the old guard of Bannan and Windass etc.

Do we want to keep DR - yes, but surprised other teams are looking at him as they are.

Whilst Rohl would do well I think, the circumstances and fact the owners are on their last warning from the fanbase, mean that as near to obvious appointments are needed and that means Steve Cooper. Jones, Selles, Martin and Juric were all funky gambles and all gone badly wrong. The obvious can go wrong too eg Burley but there were allegedly very particular circumstances as to why that didn’t pan out.

Probably should have gone earlier but no point in keeping him on board if he isn’t going to be here next season. Time to clear the decks and start planning for next season.

All is good the plan is coming to fruition

I appreciate your positivity at times manji, but saying stuff like this in wake of the earliest ever relegation and in light of us being the worst ever team to grace the PL, I think it's a bit silly to say the plan is coming to fruition - unless part of the plan is to create mass collateral damage first.

Let's be honest there isn't a plan, and there hasn't been a plan since 2022.

Not a surprise really, presumably Spors told him we'd get a new man in and he decided to walk now rather than be a lame duck

It said left not sacked on Sky so that was my interpretation as well.

The rebuilding starts now that we have eventually been confirmed as relegated. We need a complete reset and most of the players need to be sold or taken down to the nearest charity shop (bet they wouldn't accept them, even charity shops have standards)

Juric is a nice bloke and fair play for having the balls to take on the job.

Spors is already making positive waves across the club - he isn't hanging around - lots being sorted already. It's refreshing to have someone driving the club forwards who knows their stuff unlike another figure at the club, who is undoubtedly the problem.

Rohl on next season.

Hmmm, is that Rasmus or Parsons?

Hardly surprising, but I wish Juric all the best. He took on a very difficult job, with unfit players, the wrong players, players isolated from the team and a hiding to nothing. He was treated to yet another clusterfk of a transfer window in January.

Yes some of his decisions have been bizarre, but I think he at least showed some balls.   Good luck to him and hopefully now onwards and upwards again for Saints with the right manager being given access to the right players, get them fit and firing.

Absolute shitshow.

If we'd have left Rusk in place we'd be above Derby's record by now at a bare minimum.

well we will see if you are correct

Yep, I’ve got no issues with Juric, inherited an impossible situation, Spors ditto, some mess Rasmus et al has left behind.

I think I read that there is a relegation clause on his contract

Who is this other figure?

He gave it a go but honestly, nobody was ever going to achieve anything other than 20th with the squad we’ve baffling managed to assemble. Different style, different attitude, same results. Best of luck to him but honestly, the whole thing was just a waste of money from our PoV.

I saw Liam Rosenior mentioned on Twitter. He seems a possibility. Did well at Hull and 16 wins at Strasbourg.

No thanks, possession based failure like Martin

You couldn't give most of these chumps away for free - there'd be no takers. Bunch of no hopers.

Rusk/Lallana dream team have taken over...

Well we might as well get something out of Lallana as nothing on the pitch he can at least now do bibs, balls and cone lay outs.

I have to question the logic of waiting until it was mathematically confirmed to sack him.

Surely the window lickers that run this club weren’t actually thinking we could pull off the greatest of escapes and win our last 8 games despite only winning 2 all season?

Surely the time to sack him was either weeks ago or the end of the season?

Any prizes for those of us that were calling for Rusk and/or Lallana to be installed as caretaker for the rest of the season after Martin was sacked...? ;)

Timing will be down to the relegation clause, which appears to mean we can get rid without paying off the final year of his contract. The agreement we have come to will most likely be to just pay him for the last 7 games of this season.

No point sacking him earlier and having to pay off his full 18 month contract. Not like we had any chance of survival at that point.

Not that Juric had a hope in hell of keeping this team up after Martin's possession based disaster football but he wasn't exactly helping himself with the weird formations and team selections. I'm glad both are gone.

I don't trust SR to get the next appointment right but I can only hope. Roll on Rohl I guess unless SR find someone from the Bulgarian 4th tier they think is better.

No, but congrats on ruffling Blackmore’s feathers
