Ivan Juric - Official: Leaves Club

Are we sure Rohl is the answer? He obviously has done well at SW butcan he build here?

It was interesting the other night how we set up and played a more pragmatic system, I wonder if Spors has been in Jurics ear and got us playing a way he wants and perhaps he may keep IJ until the end of the season to see if there is progression. The squad seem happier, and did give their all.

Go on Leicester, you know you really want a bit of beardy Russell. Barry Ferguson’s results starting to slide at Rangers as well, although Martin’s loan spell there wasn’t very good.

Players giving their all should be the minimum expectation.

Too many of the lazy fuckers haven’t done so this season.

At least that's one relegation spot sewn up for next season if we both get re-promoted again....

The other part of that report says that the Man City group are looking at Rusty for a role at one of their clubs because he plays the way they like it.

Maybe his long game will pay off after all...

…for him.

Let's hope this is true. A contender for the league title removed before it's even begun.

Nah, line the next one up in the background but keep Juric in place as the fall guy, let him stay and take the bullet for the next seven defeats, the inevitable record lowest points total and the highest ever goal difference against, and then the moment the final whistle blows against Arsenal, sack him, sweep the whole lot clean and bring in the new man unsullied by the absolute fiasco of this season.

If the club want Rohl, I reckon their chairman would bite our hand off for a cut-price deal.  They can’t even pay their wage bill.

Some small compensation might very well see them survive.

Are we sure that we want Rohl?

I’m not sure to be honest, but the Wednesday fans rate him.

I don't think Rohl would come here with these clowns in charge. Tbh

As bad as SR are, they do back managers with money. Obviously that's been spent horrendously. Given that Rohl has been working under Chansiri, I'd imagine he'd jump at the chance to come here.

Well, he would because he'd get a pay rise and a chance to get a club promoted to the biggest league in the world.

Well going by yesterday’s news from Weds he might even get paid by us which will be an improvement:-)

https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/sheffield-wednesday-unpaid-wages-transfer-ban-5069571

After 2 months non payment, the players can give notice and a payment deadline, and then terminate their wages. Anyone know if the same thing applies to managers / coaches? That deadline is today, and as of yesterday there were still players that hadn't been paid according to that article anyway.

If the club really do want Rohl then Juric is a dead duck going into the summer. Rohl is for certain leaving Wednesday after his interview on the weekend - therefore we really should make that move and get him in before the end of the season (assess the squad / plan for the summer). Wednesday sound like they are in dire straights and would surely bite our hand off for any kind of financial compensation if they're struggling to pay wages which will give them a prolonged transfer embargo... its a no brainer on that front.

All of which will only increase the noise the longer Juric is still here. I.e., maybe he's the preferred manager for SR going into the champ?

There’s a quote form Jurić in The Times this morning,

“For me it’s something completely new, a new experience” Jurić said of his first foray into English football and its supporters.

What were they thinking when they appointed someone who had no experience of our way of doing things?

We do rate him especially after last seasons rescue act.

Danny has worked to a certain extent with one hand tied behind his back with this owner but also don't believe he is the messiah we perhaps thought.

We are on course for our worst home record for 50 years and a good run of away results have really kept us away from a relegation struggle.  We seem to have very slow starts in games and have relied on a few comebacks, which in itself is a good thing.

Also he brought in 9 players in the Summer and very few have been a success as well as wasting the money we had on Ike Ugbo who has no goals or assists in 30 games.  The team are still very reliant on the old guard of Bannan and Windass etc.

Do we want to keep DR - yes, but surprised other teams are looking at him as they are.

He was more referring to how lovely fans were despite the team being absolutely shit.  In Italy, they'd be fearing for their existence.  That was what he meant.

What if Juric were to stay in place for the rest of the season and drive Saints to a number of breathtaking wins resulting in a finish above Ipswich and Leicester? 😁

Going by the look of it.

Thanks for that.  I think I would prefer Steve Cooper.

I think in your position I would too.  There is no doubt however Rohl will go on to be a top class Manager.

Realistically if he had not been Ralphs assistant you would not be linked.

I genuinely have sympathy for Juric. He’s had a shit hand dealt him since the moment he arrived.
ok he knew that, but all the same, seems a decent fella and suspect he could get a tune out of a better squad and given time.
he inherited a clusterfuck.

What a miserable season. I actually feel for Juric a bit, yes he made some odd choices but I guess he was trying to see if *anything* worked - we really are so shite.

Yeah to a degree I do, he came into a shitshow and was totally left high and dry. Ok he didnt always help himself but fuck me he's hardly the first manager we've had who's trodden that path.

Thanks for erm.....yeah, no worries.

He'll be forgotten fairly quickly. Last chance for SR to get this right for me, who do they go for now?

Sadly, he’s going to finish on the same win, lose and draw ratio as Russell Martin.

I’m not going to say anything other than Juric was worse than I predicted he’d be.
