Hmm, good point... Knew I'd forgotten someone in my haste to see how Sulemana operates in a counter-attacking set-up. That said, Tyler has just played two games in quick succession so might be due a rest anyway... (?)

Personally, as long as Tyler has two legs and can stand up I’d have him ahead of Sulemana. I hope Juric builds the team around him the way Ball built the team around Le Tiss. He, Fernandes and Lallana are the only real quality we have. All need to be playing, and in roles where they can impact the game, as much as they possibly can.

I'd certainly add Ramsdale, THB and (although I think he may be gone very soon and is a better player than recent performances) KWP.

And, as you say, if Juric comes in and does the same with Dibling as Bally did with Le Tiss, then all the better. That Bally era is up there with some of my best moments supporting this club in well over half a century!

I think Dibling is going to be a great player but we have to accept he's nowhere near the finished article at such a young age. He's got a lot to learn and I'm sure he will do but I'm not convinced he's ready to be the player who a team is built round and when Bally did that with Le Tiss he was already in his mid 20s.

I do agree, it's more a case of a complete lack of options anywhere else. Dibling is the only one I see where as soon as he gets the ball, you feel the ground lift and it feels like something is going to happen. I agree that it's a ridiculous amount of pressure to put on a raw 18 year old, and in an ideal world we'd ease him in much more gently, but bearing in mind that in all likelihood we'll only get one season out of him and he'll be off in the summer, the selfish part of me says we just rinse him as hard as we can while we've got him and wring every last drop of contribution from him before he goes.

It's a good point, Le Tiss showed signs he was going to be a great but he certainly wasn't a guaranteed starter late 80s, got to give it time and use wisely

Has anyone got one of those spreadsheets you can enter in results and then see where the teams standings are in table.

I think there are 7 or 10 games where bottom 6/7 teams are playing each other so the 11 points gap is actually higher. Let's hope our creative players can setup enough chances tomorrow for who ever is upfront to get thato elusive win.

Even if I'm very generous and obviously biased and deluded it still takes ages to get out of the bottom 3.

Who knows what we'll get with all the chaos around the club at the moment, new boss but not involved, Simon Rusk will get to do one more team talk, I think we're more likely to fall apart in the post-Russ unpicking of possession football whilst a new style is implemented, prediction Fulham 3-0 Saints

Boo! I feel a bit more optimistic, players will be keen to impress the new coach and will turn in a much more committed performance. A return to 1-3 away results!

Who do we think Juric would pick if he was wanting a team from our lot who has the fitness and aggression to press? [or at least try to]

Ramsdale

Walker-Peters Harwood-Bellis Wood Manning/Sugawara

Downes Ugochukwu

Dibling Lallana Fernandes

Archer

I'm an optimist: Fulham 1-2 Saints [Archer and Fernandes]

12 players? That is optimistic! ☺️

Anyone hear Sam Matterface on talksport commentating on the Villa City game? He said if Saints get anything from the game tomorrow they will have outperformed Man City since 1/11. Incredible

To be fair, we quite often play against 12 men (if you count the ref... ) ;)

Juric wants to press from the front, Armstrong is going to be involved.

Feeling optimistic (rather than realistic) and hoping for that new manager bounce and more of the second half attitude from midweek. A point would be great and a good start. First target to get over 11 points, then just battle and go down fighting ready to give the Championship (albeit with a few new faces) a right good fucking go!

Today, just hoping for a lift in spirits and some festive cheer

Lets be real are we saying we expect Juric to pick the team bassed off video's he's seen us play this season and then give the tactics to players he only meets today ?

Jason Bateman Cotton GIF

No, but I suspect he has had a say in yesterday’s training.

Don't think we'll get dicked, which I did every week when in the latter stages of Russball, but can't really see a win emerging yet. I'd be very happy with a point towards our goal of beating Derbys 12.

Ah, Matterface, that delightful Pompey fan. Good stat though. But I can see why Natalie Sawyer dumped him, the prick!!

Well the good thing is that, just like the rest of us, Fulham won't have the faintest idea how we are going to set up and play the game, which might work to our advantage.

The lineups may have been a bit of a tombola under Russ, but he would literally tell the opposing manager that we would never play any differently, so it was like an open invitation to take advantage of our inevitable mistakes passing around the back. I'm glad we don't have to worry about that absurd level of naivety anymore.

It's annoying that it is Fulham Saints are playing today. Slick, well coached, hard to beat side.

They have emerged from a tough 4 game run unbeaten, and their confidence will be high.

I fear they'll show very little mercy to a fragile Saints side.

That said if Saints can play a more disciplined game, and avoid serving up goal opportunities on a plate, there is an opportunity to restore a bit of pride with at the very least a battling performance.

The 2nd half against Brighton was a sign they had it in them. Hopefully we'll see a bit of that.

At least Stephens cannot be shoehorned somewhere into the side. But we have to find a way to somehow score more than one goal - unlikely though that is.

He cant but if Juric plays 3 at the back unless Wood has a stormer or he tells ABK you either start playing or you career is down the pan then every chance when available he'll be back in the side..........at least until IJ sees how utterly crap he is !

Wood has had good games to be fair and deserves to be ahead of Stephens

Perreira suspended today for Fulham. Also Paqueta picked up his 5th yellow yesterday so will miss West Ham’s visit to SMS on Boxing Day.

That's a bit fortunate for Saints, Pereira is excellent.

Of course, in any normal situation you would be right. However, as things are we are going to be relegated, and Dibling will leave, so we don't have the opportunity to see him mature gradually. So, as we are in the last chance saloon I think we should try anything. Rather than thinking that we base the whole team around him, I see it more as, get the ball to Dibling as much as possible. (when the pass is on).

I would like to see the new manager tighten us up defensively (much fewer silly mistakes) and use the pace and guile of Dibling & Fernandez to get the ball as quickly as possible to Archer (and possibly Onuachu) on breakaways. We have already seen several times in the past few matches that we are capable of this.

Wasn’t that long ago that Wolves  smashed Fulham.

They’re ok but they don’t like it up ‘em.

We’re going to fucking destroy them this afternoon, now the slow crab-football bollocks has been consigned to the dustbin.

3-1 Saints.

That's a bugger, but would've thought he'll still be influencing the tactical approach today on an "advisory" basis...

Perfect- he’ll be in the stands so although not effecting the tactics the players know they need to put a shift in if they want to keep their place & give him another 90 mins to assess what he has at his disposal.

Archer in for Armstrong and that’s probably our best XI if we’re going to be 5 at the back under the new gaffer.
