Good luck to our new caretaker boss Simon Rusk. Let’s hope your brand of Rusk-ball will stabilise us until a permanent replacement is appointed!

Heard he’s a Farley good coach, but can crumble under pressure.

Hadn’t heard much about him before.

But at least it appears Rasmus has kept a beard in the dugout for some continuity

Yes, good luck to him.

He was set piece coach at Nottingham Forest last season... and they conceded the most goals from set pieces in the league.

Is there anything in his CV to give us hope? Could this be another 'Ruben Selles' until the end of season appointment?

He took over as Chris Hughton's number 2 at Brighton back in 2016 when a certain Nathan Jones left to try his hand at managing

Following in a Legends footsteps there.

Well obviously he needed to do something to attract Rasmus's notice

Been promoted to the senior coaching staff on a full-time basis. U18s boss Calum McFarlane to take the U21 gig and a new U18s coach to be hired. McFarlane will take the team through the FA Youth Cup in the meantime

Not happened quite yet. Not finalised.

Hope he gets a 3 or 5 year deal, so he can receive generous payments over a long period when a new manager comes in.

This has got to be the preparation for him to take over the first team in the summer right? He didn’t do any worse than Martin or Juric, so you can see why he’s been considered, although the bar is extremely low right now.

How have you jumped to that conclusion?

Come on, it’s the Saintsy thing to do. And probably cheaper than any other option. Plus he’s ‘proven’ himself at a higher level.

It isn't a Saintsy thing to do at all. They have not appointed a permanent manager from within for over 20 years! I'd be stunned if Johannes Spors viewed Rusk as an option in the summer. For a start Juric is contracted beyond the summer and secondly, even if Juric was sacked, we'd be an attractive job for experienced managers. No need to look to someone as inexperienced as Rusk.

Nothing to do with appointing a perm manager from within - it’s Saintsy because it’s the cheap option. And it seems a bit too much of a coincidence that Spors has come in and one of the first things he does is promote Rusk. Of course it might not play out like that, but stranger things have taken place at the club.

It isn't something new. Rusk has remained with the first team since he was caretaker. You can see him in training videos and on the bench throughout Juric's reign. Sport Republic haven't been cheap on manager, they have paid out compensation to sign Jones and Martin, plus Juric even though he was unattached will be on a big wage.

I doubt Spors has had any input in promoting Rusk, let's be honest. He wouldn't have had a clue who he is to start with.

This is just a normal internal promotion as you see across all teams. We did it with Carl Martin when he moved up from the U18's, and also Craig Fleming before him.

He's certainly not being lined up to be our manager.
