5-3-2 McCarthy, KWP, THB, Bednarek, Wood, Manning, Downes, Dibling, Fernandes, Tall Paul, Archer.

Can’t change too much in three days. At times we’ve played ok like this. Maybe get the south coast version of  “Quinn and Phillips” firing.

He must be starting to think about selling up and moving on. Its now evident to him that he and SR aren't very good at running a club. It must have cost them money and it seems headache at every turn. What are they getting out of it?

Though I struggle to see the ownership value of any team like the Saints. Profit and silverware nigh on impossible, relegation, financial loss and fan hate always a few results away. Its a no win situation.  Just to survive you need to be pretty good at at it.

SR are clearly below standard, t so I don't see what Dragan's long term goal is  ... unless its the handshakes and networking with other chairmen and owners which opens up business deals for him.

Totally agree. What's the end game for the owner of club like ours, unless money is literally no object?

I've always thought of Crystal Palace as a similar sort of club to us, and - whatever you think of him - Simon Jordan's book about realising his dream and becoming owner of Palace, his lifelong club, is a really interesting read. He spent £40m of his own money on his club, and ultimately his reward was losing the lot, which nearly bankrupted him, and being spat at in the street by Palace fans. The book's called 'Be Careful What You Wish For' and is a very eye-opening account of the reality of football club ownership.

Yep. Get spanked 5 nil at home, have a cup game a couple of days later against probably the best team in the world, have a caretaker manager in who's never trained the team, so allow the players a day with their feet up. Beyond ridiculous.

What is very worrying about this is the board allowing RM to run the team in such a shambolic way for so long…. What was going on? Meet up twice a week see who fancies it and pick a team out of the ones who aren’t on the piss the night before the game, it’s Sunday league stuff RM was acting like. No wonder the team was crap, unfit and resembled a group of strangers chucked together with randomness every week.
Really the directors have a lot to answer for allowing RM to run a bunch of part timers for so long….

I assume the bloke has an ego. I'm addition he was unknown in the West and owning a football club will massively raise his profile which I assume would benefit his other business interests.

No the players used to get the two days after the game off. Play on Saturday = Sundays and Mondays off. Ridiculous.

Really?! If that is the case that is ridiculous.

It honestly just cements my belief that Martin wanted to be one of the lads and mates with everyone above all else.

Plenty of attacking options on the bench. I’m ok with the selection

Never seen a player score from the bench 🙂

Had totally forgotten about this - Is it on TV?

Edit - unsure why I want to put myself through it if it is 😂

Ah...The trusty "took a knock" line just as we approach a transfer window... Good job I'm not an old cynic otherwise I'd be reading things into that that aren't there... ;)

He was also absolutely shite against Spurs.

Club can't even be bothered to spell Brereton-Diaz's name right, lovely stuff.

His name isn't worth remembering to be fair

Rusk: “OK lads the gaffer has been sacked and I’ve not had a chance to train with you, so just go out there, forget everything you’ve been told to do by that fraud and go have some fun.”

Liverpool have got a pretty weak team out there - if we can do the basics and not concede early on, I do fancy our chances.
Biggest little word though - IF!

If you mean just by taking part then yes 😜

If it's good enough for my son's schools sports day, then it's good enough for the Carabao cup
