A fluke win would give SR another excuse not to get rid of Martin and he would be insufferably smug having beaten the mighty spuds.

I never want Saints to lose, but I'm not sure I could be happy about us winning until either Martin changes his football or he gets fired.

This is the problem. ANY fluke win will be looked upon as "the Process" starting to work instead of being just that.....a fluke. The one win that we do have was hardly convincing.......

I learned my lesson 20 years ago when I wanted us to lose and sack Wigley.  And we know how that ended up….

Spurs are beset with injury, have played a tough game on Thursday, and are going nowhere in the league - these are the games you have to win when you are down there.

i don’t think we will for one reason - it’s their defence which is weak due to injury - they still have high quality forwards. We simply don’t create enough - we’ve seen this at Villa / City etc who aside from us have all struggled to keep clean sheets. So they’ll score at least one (I predict 2) meaning we’ll need 3 - which we won’t get.

Was chatting with a mate yesterday and we both agreed that we miss Adams, even though he wasnt good enough, due to his hold up play and bringing others into the game. That we didn’t bother to replace him is frankly idiotic (Archer replaced The French lad, BBD we obviously deliberately bought to play out wide - which is idiotic in itself)

As with others that dichotomy of hoping for a Saints win because it’s Saints but dreading if we do because of the smug twat coming out with all of his guff.

If we do win it won’t be because of Russballsup it will be because we will have played a team who are temporarily in bigger disarray than us, unbelievable as it may seem. SR will see it as a sign not to take gifts to the stable but to keep faith with their own chosen Messiah….so for me it’s a lose-lose situation.

Another pointless hybrid back five with little to no attacking threat.

Close to equal possession with Spurs sending RM into a head spin of anger.

Son to inevitably score.
Downes to inevitably be booked.
Manning to inevitably to be subbed off despite being the biggest attacking threat alongside Tyler Dibling this season.
Misplaced passing error to be at least one of the reasons we concede a goal.
McCarthy to start and be beaten at his near post in the opening twenty minutes.

I’ll take a brave 3-0 defeat going into the game.
That would make me proud of the boys and full of gratitude. 😁

We are all disappointed, but who is the "we"?.   If it's thousands of fans, they will simply stop going to matches in protest, and maybe

go and support Bournemouth ?    NO !      SR has invested a lot of money since their takeover, (not to mention Dragan's £100+ million)

and so the likelihood of  "getting rid" of them seems most unlikely.

I mean... would you invest in a club with both feet in the drop zone,  and then throw in another fortune to buy even more players ?

Even RM  recognises that things aren't going well, but; sub-standard performances, injuries, suspensions, form-loss, a lack of fire-power,

and dodgy VAR decisions have all contributed to our situation in a team that has yet to play unchanged for two matches in succession.

We just need to grin and bear it and hope for a quick turnaround in results.

Agreed they have invested a bit but in  some shocking players and who's fault is that? Recruitment/scouting? How say much did Martin have in the signing of Ross Stewart for example?

Hopefully we get battered and they sack him.....

I don't think they'll sack him now, battering or no battering. The reasonable time to sack him was about 4 or 5 games ago.

Looks to me like they've decided he'll lead us back out of the championship,  and they'll only sack him if we start next season badly.

Depressing ain't it!

If he leads us out of the championship then great. He can take us up then get sacked because there's no way we can go with this guy again in the premier league.

All I ask of my football team is that the players give their all and they put themselves on the line to defend their goal. On top of that I would like there to be occasional wins and an entertaining style of play so that match day is looked forward to. The worst situation would be no wins, boring pedestrian football and no determination to keep out the opposition by defending bravely and not taking any unnecessary risks. That’s all I ask. That is the manager’s job to achieve whatever the quality of his team. Does anyone agree?

Then we have to get rid of the owners..... But is that even possible? They clearly know nothing about running a football club..... And purchased saints just as a portfolio asset and a way to make money through players sales

What’s that joke about how do you become a millionaire by owning a football club? Start as a billionaire.

If those morons think they can make money through players sales and don’t care about results then they are even stupider than they look. They don’t even have a good scouting network, and are neglecting the academy. Not to mention ongoing wage costs. Throw in getting relegated and turning the fans against them, our club will end up floundering skint with crap players at the lower end of the championship.

No what’s really going on is the fraud Ankersen is pulling the strings (and squandering Dragan’s millions). He (Ankersen) thinks he’s a genius who will eventually take us up to the top through his sheer brilliance and ideas that no other mortals would think of. And he doesn’t want to sack RM because it will be an admission of yet another failure.

I’ll admit a small part of me hopes we lose by just enough goals to get a new manager in, for the long term security of the club and to avoid being a laughing stock for the rest of the season. Sorry.

Well… that’s a list of footballers, I guess.

Yeah McCarthy back in makes no sense. Lumley has actually made good saves and claimed the ball well, it's just when he's asked to do an Ederson impression he struggles.

Being asked to throw the ball out to a teammate who’s not within three feet of an opponent is not an ‘Ederson impression’.

That is outrageous on Nathan Wood. That lad has taken a fair bit of stick from the fans. Turns in two reasonable performances, earns some credit, and gets dropped. Grrrrr

No Onauchu of course, they so want to sell him.

However positives, a back 4, all in their proper positions. A midfield of Aribo Downes and Fernandes.

Clearly going to take the game to Spurs.

Sully is a strange one,  but let's not forget the transfer window opens in 2 weeks or so.

Moi cynical

Those moaning, who are the great players missing out??!

This squad is clearly worse than our relegation season, hence I going to each game with very low expectations.

Goal keeper better

The defence a bit worse

Midfield miles worse

Forwards bit worse

Our manager is underperforming but most managers would be relegated with this squad.

No, but a keeper who didn't grow up/train his entire career playing with the ball at his feet under intense pressure trying to find someone open for a short pass when everyone is marked shouldn't be asked to play that way.

But Lumley kicked the ball long and we conceded. But don't worry Russ doesn't tell them they have to pass out or else.

Really is a lucky dip starting lineup.

How does sulemana get in after offering nothing.

How does wood get dropped for playing well

Agreed. Wood should be playing. He must heartbroken.  Sulemena has hardly played a few. mins so far.

Always reliable and non-buffering.  Sometimes you get a foreign-language commentary (perhaps not a bad thing!) but if you try enough times you get an English one.  No pop-ups or porn links.

That's the only thing that usually keeps me conscious during Saints games FFS! 😁
