Southampton 0-5 Tottenham - Match Thread

My expectations were low, but that was absolutely abysmal. From minute one. I said after the Chelsea game that our players don't look to make tackles, they back off and off and then the attacker finds themselves in our box and gets a shot at goal. It happened from minute one tonight. The fourth goal especially, watch how Udogie and Son just move up the pitch unchallenged before Sarr eases through the box. We're abysmal on the ball and we're fucking tragic off the ball.

Hasenhuttl managed to pick up an unfit Saints side after Hughes mid-season and get them fit, while Pochettino made the Saints side he took over fitter in the season with his double training sessions, so it is still possible to get this side running again, but it is going to be one hell of a job.

All those Martin defenders who said our squad isn't good enough. Our squad is better than Rangers' and they gave Spurs one hell of a game on Thursday evening, they were managed well and exploited their weaknesses during the game, but don't have the quality to see out a win. Martin's just spent the week blowing smoke up Ange's arse, while stating he won't deviate from his own methods.

Sulemana was picked out of the tombola this week and didn't even get quarter of an hour! I'm just hoping and praying that Martin's gone before Smallbone and Stephens become available again, as things can actually get worse than this.

This football's shit, everything about the club is below standards at the moment. Changes need to be made now, even if it is months too late... Better late than never.

30k people said that at the stadium tonight.

TBF, not much more I can do to prove my credentials than get things right. If people don't want to believe me, then that's fine. However, I was literally the only poster to state it as a fact on the site until about 45 minutes ago.

I may be a prick, but that doesn't mean I'm not correct. It just makes me a prick.

We are also deeply grateful for the continued support and positivity shown by our fans. We are witnessing first-hand the significant gap between the Championship and the Premier League, but your understanding and passion, even when results have not been what we all want, continue to drive our long-term commitment to the club.

Blimey! Who’d have thought this was a thing?!

………….I’m glad someone within the marbled halls of SMS has educated me here 😳😵💫

Thank you, but to be fair people have been saying such things for a long time now.

Well done you.

Literally it was just you saying he'll be sacked.  Absolutely no one else. Not one other person.  Not even the thousands of Saints fans in the ground singing 'sacked in the morning'.  No sir, even they were blind sided by this news.

But hey, you take the 'win' here. After all, it's more than you deserve.  If this is what matters most to your fragile ego, wanting so desperately to be liked on a mong board, proving your 'credentials' to the world at large, then go you.  You've done it, hit the big time and no mistake.

I'm no lt taking you off ignore Weston, so stop following me. Even after your grovelling apology via DM - I told you then and I'll tell you now, I do not want to see your posts.

I just don't understand why you are so obsessed with having my attention.

He’s marked your card pretty well.

I've got no idea, I don't see his posts unless he is quoted - it's essentially a "man shouts at clouds" situation.

Considering you are supposed to be 'ignoring' him, you don't half make a big song and dance about it.

Nobody quoted him this time. So if you're not taking him off ignore then how the fuck do you know his post was aimed at you?

I'm guessing TBF...is it not about me then?

You mean assuming, and making sure everyone knows about it like the attention seeker you obviously are.

Yes, Weston's post was aimed at you, and for once I'm actually in agreement with him. He's got you pretty well sussed on this.

I’m wondering if the players knew at half time, they played a completely different game in the second half, we even got some shots in.

I thought Ramsdale looked as though he knew - he was extremely pensive and clearly mulling something over in his mind. Ok, he'd just witnessed a car crash of a performance from his team mates but there was something more on his mind from his body language.

Still mental to me that we somehow lost 9-0 twice with a far superior manager and a better squad.

We didn't for the Man Utd game.

Also down to 10 men against Leicester, and 9 at Old Trafford with a bunch of kids playing.

He’s gone!

Remind me of the piece from 'This Country' when Kerry and Kurtain go round singing...'He's Dead'..after hearing about the death of one of their old teachers.

I can visualise more than a few Saints fans walking around singing....'He's Gone...

That's the first time this season I've seen the players just down tools completely and bought back some of the PTSD from our last relegation season. I guess they were sending a message and got the desired result, but that first half was so embarrassing and not even the excuse of being down to 9/10.

Strangely, I can't remember a calamitous back-pass in the game for probably the first time this season as well (not that Spurs needed one). So there's that...

MOTM is a tough one.

Sure.

No one quoted my post but you managed to be the first one to reply to it.

Very sad. We all know you crave attention - hence your made up grovelling apology thing.

It's fine, we all think you're amazing, we really do.  Everyone looks to you for information that they will never get elsewhere.

Please just put the sharp objects down.

One image of Fernandes sticks in my mind from the first half. Epitomised the rolly eye emoji perfectly.

I’d add stay away from the slurry too, obviously does something weird to people.

The players must have known at full time as they stayed on the pitch in the centre circle for some time before wandering to the dressing room

Seems to be a pattern emerging here Weston, I had an eerily similar experience with the unhinged one. I was also accused of stalking and sending him private messages begging to be told transfer news first and asking to be ‘besties’. When I explained I had basic account and therefore it was impossible for me to send private messages, farmer Giles then tried to make out he was talking about someone else. I think he is fairly new on here,( not sure?) less than a year and already has over 2.1 k posts and it’s quite obvious he really does have some serious problems in his life. Apparently I’m on ignore too, so he won’t be responding to this post either 🤫

I can only go by my interactions on here with him and what I have seen with other posters, he may be a lovely guy if you meet him, but on here he has come across as a nasty, lying, sad, narcissistic twat.
