Cheers for the insight James, but here's hoping its a different 'line of contact' to the one that fed you this info on Nathan Jones' credentials.... ;)

Yeah, I didn't know much about him. A few people spoke positively about him, but obviously it went pear shaped. You get events, they are mainly about football helping in the community, and you get random attendees. Southampton, off the pitch, are great. But I am based in Scotland, so a colleague has been going to them of late. We're struggling to get money from the local council, so we count on funding from the police, NHS, sport, local schools. All that shannanigans

There is a rumour within the club that Martin is going, but there's nothing beyond that, and that is from someone in the events team, off the record

Makes sense, you’d need to give the Events team a bit of prior notice, to arrange the fucking great supporters party. 🕺🍺🥳

To be fair it's highly likely the head of dry cleaning has already fed back as line-manager.

Oh well it's gone 1pm and no announcement looks like Russ is here to stay sadly and he will still be our manager in the championship! You couldn't make it up! (well Russ could and does)

Interestingly, nothing from the club media (except Archer's birthday) or The Echo/Adam Blackmore

Something's happening for sure I reckon. Hopefully finalising an immediate replacement

It does all seem very quiet and as others have mentioned, there is no smoke without fire.

I'm quietly optimistic he will be relieved of his duties before Spurs.

I suspect you're heading for a disappointment.

If I was Dragan I'd be cancelling Sunday/Monday days off until things improve.

Absolutely, but we've been taking Saturdays off since August as well

3 days off a week is taking the piss. Not like the wankers work on a Saturday either.

We are the most pathetic, ridiculous club in the league. Not only would we be the only idiots to ever appoint these simpletons, but not sacking one after getting 5 points from nearly half the season is something else.

To be fair, they’ll need a couple of days to recover from their Xmas party piss up that they embarked on at the weekend, so fair enough really. They’ve really earned that downtime

No wonder our fitness levels are so bad!

If we concede early on Sunday, the atmosphere will get toxic.

If the players love him so much then maybe they'll up their performance levels on Sunday knowing only a win will likely keep him in post.

Well this thread was obvious bollocks then.

Why, that tweet by Alfie really doesn’t say that much. Maybe there is a meeting today, they probably wouldn’t hold it a St Mary’s given the attention it would attract. Maybe that was the meeting held before Chelsea? It doesn’t matter if he goes today or next week, as long as he goes and the new man has time to assess his resources and be involved in the January window. That’s not to say sooner wouldn’t be better.

RM does my head in but who would come into this situation and squad and actually save us? We are going down like the Titanic and hopefully it’s so bad both RM and SR are forced to admit their “plan” is shite.

This has to be the quickest premier league surrender ever, with zero action taken to even attempt to remedy a fast sinking ship. An utter disgrace from top to bottom.

Absolutely crazy if they get 2 days off after a game, especially after a defeat...

Surely that can't be normal for a professional football club playing in an elite league, can it...?

They’ve got hangovers to nurse apparently having been boozing in Ireland as part of their Xmas party celebrations. So I’m told anyway….

Ticket exchange will be getting a battering this morning then, myself included

I'll be fucked if I'm gonna spend any more time and money on watching this shite

That'll teach the club, being able to make more money.

I’ll have next Sunday off.

How bad is it, when my season ticket will go unused because I’m not going through another Groundhog Day with that arrogant prick in charge.

Fuck that shit.  Sports Republic, you bunch of gutless cunts.

Add 'holding the fans in contempt' to the growing list of faux pas that this manager and the ownership have presided over...

And unfortunately now, they’ve left fans with no choice but to take this course of action , as maybe hoardes of empty seats will actually give them some sort of message that fans aren’t going to blindly take being arse fucked by these odious cretins any longer. There comes a point when you morally can’t bring yourself to spend money on something any longer. And these idiots have gotten us well and truly to this point now.

That's if the ticket actually sells, which I doubt it will

That’s what I thought which is why I’m not bothering with the exchange. At least I’ll still have my ticket if we get a new manager in for then.

Don't forget it was independantly verified by a guy on Twitter with 'ITK' in his handle. If that isn't the hallmark for authenticity on any sports related news, I don't know what is. Personally I still expect an 11.30pm, transfer window style announcement.
