The slaughtering of Jack Stephens is not hilarious. Bloke is getting and has got torrents of abuse and he will be his own worst critic - but hey keep piling in with the cheap shots on a thread meant to be discussing the rumour RM is sacked.

He made some  football mistakes but he’s a honest pro decent bloke - and still our Club Captain. So, abuse him and yiu are disrespecting Southampton Football club.

And whether you hate him and hate RM or whoever the hell you need to hate to make it through the day - you should take that on board because there’s many who are Southampton til we die and don’t like people dissing the club like that.

OK I've made my mind up. You're a troll.

There's a difference between criticising Jack Stephens for his stupid hair pull, which is valid, and messaging him abuse, telling him hes a cunt, get out of our club etc, that's where it draws the line.

On Martin, let's be honest, he's not going anywhere is he?

The only problem I have with Stephens is that he shouldn't be playing for us in the PL.

How on gods fine earth is he still here?

Because they can’t get anyone in to replace him.

Hardly going to sack him and then feel the pressure when many, many managers turn us down.

Basically fucked because the board left it 6 games too late.

Either the board left it too late or they tried to replace him in October like you previously said.

Well according to the papers Graham Potter is in line for a shock call from RB Leipzig. Potter is keen on a return to work and the Bundesliga giants may come for him soon if results fail to improve under Marco Rose. Agent talk or are we stuck with the suicidal tactics OUR manager insists on. Options are running out if we are indeed looking for a replacement or were sticking . Most pundits in every commentary speak out at the mistakes we constantly keep performing, our forwards have no chance of making clever runs to find space because we keep the ball too deep and we play awful WALKING FOOTBALL. When we do break at a quicker tempo i think yes go for it ,only to somehow loose momentum and end up going backwards.Depressing being us ATM........................................................................................ BTW IS HE STILL HERE?...............................

Hi Jack. Don’t pull people’s hair you tit, especially when there’s a hundred cameras watching you.

……..and the bloke who’s hair you pulled will take any excuse to go down like you had literally applied death by a thousand cuts to gain any advantage.
You should have just tickled him in the ribs, because that would have confused the hell out of the slippery sod.

Don’t believe it to be quite as cut and dry as some have said on this thread, but believe the board are mobilising today to make a decision.

Feeling is that he is likely to be here for Spurs, but that may be his last chance.

Ah, the old Saints ‘another two weeks’ mantra applied then…

Trotted out for everything from Ross Stewart’s injury to this…

Needs to be his last game: in fact I want him out immediately.

He's had enough chances.

This topic is giving me false hope and making me spend to much time on here instead of getting any work done.

Every time the phone ‘pings’ I look and hope it’s an update from LiveScore telling me he’s been sacked.

How many more last chances are there? We're a complete joke now, he's got to go.

What gives rise you your “belief” I’d be really interested to know. I’m not calling you out, just noting you rarely post and have chosen this time to make a statement?

Mobilise? I've seen colonies of sloths move quicker than the SFC board...

Yes let’s leave it another week in the hope that the unrecoverable will be recoverable, because that always solves the problem doesn’t it. Really is just laughable. This lot will do anything to prioritise a 1% chance that they can save their own reputation, over and above the best for the football club itself and results on the pitch.

Are the team training?

Despite that idiot fake ITK J Taylor on twitter stating they're not, this would make no difference to Russ’ future. Players will train or not based on the schedule, not to do with the manager getting sacked

Tend not to post something unless it’s on good authority and from someone I trust, who has been right in the past. No point coming on here to get hopes up or down if it’s false information.

Was relayed late last night from the same contact I spoke to in the summer RE: a defensive midfielder coming in - which turned out to be the Chelsea lad.

This is the first I’ve heard from them about the future of RM, so figured I would share.

There is a rumour within the club that Martin is going, but there's nothing beyond that, and that is from someone in the events team, off the record

Is it? I heard he’s gone, off the record, from the ground staffs assistants brother in laws sister that’s related to the head of security’s best friends neighbour.

I’m not surprised, there’s a lot of smoke without there being some kind of fire around his departure. Not just rumours in here but the board meeting during the Chelsea game and his own behaviour post-match.

He won’t change his approach for anyone though at SFC and therefore if the objective is win/draw the Spurs game, that won’t happen, even with rotten form they are in. He’d rather die on the hill of a million 5 yard passes between his defenders and keeper.

Let's face it, Martin will still be here in 10 years time with us midtable in League Two, playing the same brave possession based football against the likes of Bromley and Accrington Stanley.

Those two will be non-league in 10 years time. So will we if the Bearded Fraud stayed a decade.

My family run a mental health charity in England and we get funding from football and attend occasional events to keep up appearances. I've not been to one for a while, but that is my line of contact for this. It might just be gossip, I don't know

It's nearly midday, so announcement some 3hrs late. My guess is the PR team are emailing the text back and forth to get the possesion stats up, it'll end up back with the PR Manager who'll hit the 'publish' button by mistake instead of passing back to the team.

Cheers for the insight James, but here's hoping its a different 'line of contact' to the one that fed you this info on Nathan Jones' credentials.... ;)

That passes the bar for my burden of proof threshold, so if it’s all the same to you I will take it as fact.
