Lighthouse Posted 7 December, 2024 Posted 7 December, 2024 https://x.com/WestHam/status/1865433805609205801 ‘Thoughts and prayers’ would suggest it’s not a minor dent in the bumper. Some photos are going around social media of a badly wrecked Ferrari, completely unverified at this stage, in any case we wish him all the best. 2
Sunglasses Ron Posted 7 December, 2024 Posted 7 December, 2024 A sobering reminder of what’s really important in life. 5

Social media, twitter in particular, love sharing fake images of incidents and making them viral. Having said that the image in question if you reverse search it doesn't return any historical results. Seriously hope he's doing ok because if he was genuinely in that wreck, it looks bad.

Toadhall Saint Posted 7 December, 2024 Posted 7 December, 2024 Thoughts are with him and his family. 1

If the pic I've seen is genuine, that doesn't look survivable 😥
Lighthouse Posted 7 December, 2024 Author Posted 7 December, 2024 West Ham have just updated to say that he is ‘conscious and communicating’ which does sound a little more positive. No further details given.

S-Clarke Posted 7 December, 2024 Posted 7 December, 2024 It was a shock to hear, good that he's conscious but it sounds pretty bad either way. It's not about football when stuff like this happens, it's really tragic as he's a young lad in his 30's - entire life ahead of him. Just got to hope everything works out for him. 2
East Kent Saint Posted 7 December, 2024 Posted 7 December, 2024 This is the trouble with road legal race cars , totally unsuitable for our roads . 1

Electric cars more so. My base level model is as fast as a Porsche 911 in a straight line! Antonio has form for this, he smashed his Lamborghini into a house a few years back (dressed as a snowman). Pleased to hear that he appears to have survived though, will always cherish his goal at Wembley! Edited 8 December, 2024 by Sunglasses Ron
sadoldgit Posted 8 December, 2024 Posted 8 December, 2024 Apparently he has previous and crashed another car whilst dressed as a snowman, as you do! The crash looks nasty. Wishing him a full and speedy recovery.

Plus the roads are narrow and twisty . 2
B Rabbit Posted 8 December, 2024 Posted 8 December, 2024 Quite. so.. glad he survived but probably driving like an absolute clown and endangering life . You don’t get that kind of crash from sticking to the speed limit. 1 1
Tommy Mulgrew Posted 8 December, 2024 Posted 8 December, 2024 He might have been sticking to something else: what, I wonder, was he doing wearing those blue rubber gloves while driving? 7 hours ago, B Rabbit said: Lucky to be alive 1
wild-saint Posted 8 December, 2024 Posted 8 December, 2024 I think it’s fair to say he is doubtful for the home game on Boxing Day.
karlb79 Posted 8 December, 2024 Posted 8 December, 2024 Knowing Sports Republic, they'll sign him as the answer to our center forward issues on NYD. 1

In fact it would probably be worse, so maybe he was under the speed limit and maybe, just maybe it was a non fault accident.. but don’t let that ruin a totally unsubstantiated theory based on a picture. 4

Not casting any aspersions here, but I believe Epping High Road is 40mph throughout. This appears to be confirmed here… Edited 10 December, 2024 by Sunglasses Ron
Bakovnetski Posted 10 December, 2024 Posted 10 December, 2024 Poor man. Wouldn't wish that on anyone, speeding or not. If he plays again then he will be a lucky man too. I hope he has invested plenty of his wages in something other than fast cars. 1
LeBizzier69 Posted 10 December, 2024 Posted 10 December, 2024 If he was speeding I have zero sympathy with him. Cold, wet roads etc. If they could prove he was speeding he should be prosecuted. 1
whelk Posted 10 December, 2024 Posted 10 December, 2024 Almost certainly not the case here but a copper told me they find a lot of cars going into trees at speed are suicide attempts
