Genuine question. Which would you rather have happen to day?

- a tough, battling 2-1 win, with no bad defensive error... and a nice goal that comes from playing Russball style from the back - evidence that seems strong enough for RM to stay in the job for the coming weeks.

- a crushing 3-0 loss with at least one goal coming from defensive error at the back, and the final straw for RM so that he's sacked in the morning?

Reply 👍for the first and 👎 to the second. I'm v curious to know.

Or, what's more likely, a crushing 3-0 loss and RM to stay in job for the coming weeks.

How on this earth does Aribo get dropped?
Downs has been very average but comes straight back in. This is one of the problems with RM he sticks with his favs and  if others dare have a good game they are instantly dropped!

Yep, been one of the few who has actually been consistently decent, and also one of the few who can actually play the "system"* reasonably effectively, receiving the ball in tight spaces and playing on the half-turn. So let's drop him.

(* By which I mean "guaranteed defeat process")

How about an emphatic 1-3 win and he gets sacked in the morning? 👌👍👏🤣

Not sure I actually care about today's result. Expecting another defeat but they're hurting less and less as I seem to be building up a sort of immune system brought on by continually losing.

I'm feeling about it the way one might feel about an impending colonic irrigation appointment.

Not expecting to enjoy it in any way, but morbidly curious to see just how awful what gets produced will be.

Because Russell is unable to set up a team to be solid his default position is to pack the side with defenders as though this will somehow magically solve the problem. It doesn't and it means players like Aribo get left out because of the extra defenders so not only are we still poor at keeping goals out but we also sacrifice a bit of creativity. It's utter madness but it carries on week after week.

Yet strangely also forget to play any central midfielders who can tackle.

Streams seem to be harder to find nowadays. Usually go for Soccerstreams.io but despite giving lots of choices, none seem to work. Will try again in 5 minutes unless there's another site someone can recommend...preferably without the cartoons which don't look like Tom and Jerry!

just tested one i found and this one is working fine https://sportsnest.co/southampton-vs-aston-villa/

please just use Brave browser or something that blocks all the pop up ads

One day he'll realise he should be setting up with a double pivot but he's smarter than all the other top coaches who do it.

I'm convinced he's so vain that he will only try something that's not being tried just in case it works so he gets the plaudits. It's all, about him, it's never been about Saints.

And back to just giving it away trying to play out

just fuck off Martin

It's incredible isn't it?

We don't kick it long so we hold possession, but two or three passes at the back and then kick it long to a villa player. Just so pointless
