Great performance masterminded by Russell. How are we managing to hold on to this football genius. Credit to SR for fending off the daily enquiries they must be getting from every top club in the world. Let's enjoy him while we can because he won't be here next season.....or maybe he will.

Brentford slot in a 4th...But we have unrealistic expectations, and should invest in the process of getting dicked every week.

Said to my son, this used to be Saints many years ago, flowing football and free scoring. Usually entertaining, even in defeat.

Sadly not in his lifetime.

In terms of performance, as comfortable a victory for Villa as it was for Chelsea on Wednesday but, of course, Russ will dwell on the close scoreline which belies our underlying ineffectiveness.

Defies logic to keep Martin in situ but since when did logic ever play a part in Sport Republic's modus operandi...?

Our biggest, of several problems, is lack of premier quality players rather than the manager.

Maybe a better manager would improve us a bit, but we have never had a team anywhere near as weak as this.

Here we go….. PR with early response today

Well desperate performance, we are in big trouble.

Dibling's lungs have been hanging out for the last 15 mins, needed subbing.

Good to see Wood have another decent game. That at least is a small positive.

We’ve become a team that other clubs basically pity. They treat us like a League 1 team arriving for a 2nd round Carabao Cup match. They rest key players and barely break a sweat, knowing full well they don’t need to.

That first goal today sums us up. A bouncing ball and THB could have just headed it out for a throw. But he brings it down to try and play it out, gets tackled, and 1-0.

Martin is a disease throughout the whole club that needs eradicating. He is completely destroying us, week by week, and I fucking detest him for it.

Our situation is now beyond a joke and bordering on completely insane. Our manager has made us the worst team in PL history, and he still sits in the job looking like a smug wanker because he doesn’t give a fuck. It’s Russell Martin first, everything else second.

It’s an absolute disgrace.

God, what absolute depths we are plumbing.... what the actual f*ck is this football club doing..... absolutely, f*kin woefully embarrassing...!

Respect to all who travelled - you deserve a whole lot more than this shower of shyte.

In the last few weeks, we had some decent, fast counter attacks that showed there might be some potential in the team if the pathetic tippy tappy at the back is eliminated. But, today was back to classic RM. Slow, meaningless triangles all over the pitch. No threat, but still with the pathetic back line tippy tappy.

It is a hopeless cause. The club is run by morons. Things will never change with this lot in charge. Let's see how many records we can set this year. Lowest points, lowest goals scored, most goals conceded, fewest shots, most mistakes. All records within reach. Brave.

You’re not wrong. I absolutely want that better manager in to improve us a bit though. That bit might just be enough to avoid the humiliation of the record low points total. That’s all this season is about now. Avoiding being statistically the worst team ever to play in this division.

Think I’m just numb now.. I don’t care anymore.. the owner is massively letting the city, supporters and the players down and now needs to show if he’s remotely bothered by making some changes. Who the feck thought signing BBD was a good idea.. I’ve rarely seen a player look so limited at this level. What convinced Martin to leave Armstrong on for 90 minutes… it’s about time the fans started growing some bollocks and not just be happy clappers at matches.

People keep blaming the players, but the fact is their goal was the product of total lack of coaching.

Why the f*** is THB going over there when Duran is being marked by Wood? It happened a number of times in the 2nd half too - this just should not be happening and I blame the coaching staff 100% as this is absolutely basic defensive organisation. How many f***ing defenders are on our staff and why is no one sorting this shit out?
