stknowle Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 Fucksake it could VERY easily have been 4-1 now. Make that 5.

Farmer Saint Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 We are so bad defensively - poor players and poor coaching. 1
Colinjb Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 We are flimsier then toilet paper. Floodgates surely about to open.

Saint_clark Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 Love this high risk low reward football. But hey when it works...we have the ball 20 yards from our own goal facing away from the opposition. Worth it. 6
Harry_SFC Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 This is what being brave is all about! Passing it to players when the opposition is on their back...

Toussaint Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 Commentator “the way this is going it looks as though Southampton could concede from every Chelsea attack”
obelisk Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 Saints very poor at corners both in attack and in defence.

captainchris Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 Does Martin never work on defending in training - never! 3
OttawaSaint Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 Lol. Chelsea like playing with their prey. Brave capitulation this...bravery at its finest!

He literally is our fourth choice keeper. #1, #2 and #3 have all made hideous errors with their feet because they are goalkeepers. Catching, stopping, that sort of thing. Not the crazy shit beardy wants them to do. #4 Bazanu is better with his feet but as much a goalkeeper as Paul Merson was David Seaman. Gavin couldn’t catch crabs from a prostitute in Bevois Valley. 1 2
obelisk Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 This is on target for 9-1 so an improvement I guess.
Suhari Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 Some of our forward play is encouraging. I absolutely believe our squad is better than our league position. RM and his mental philosophy is dragging us down. 4

When you have average Championship defenders it doesn't help, but you also have specific defensive coaches to work with the defenders day in, day out - do we know who they are? 1

In pre season of the Championship I repeatedly asked what the benefit was of taking huge risks to get 15 yards up the field and was scolded repeatedly by football experts on here. 5

obelisk Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 For a few minutes Saints gave Chelsea some problems when moving the ball forward quickly. Then came the instruction from Russ to stop that sort of thing and get back to tippy-tappy at the back. This is high risk, low reward stuff.

CB Fry Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 Not surprising Cameron Archer ran out of steam just then. He couldn't see his options to work it back to the keeper from there. 1 4
Saint_clark Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 Glad we play out from the back to create that one half chance for Archer. 9 goals conceded from errors? Irrelevant.

We looked decent in the early stages when we moved it forward quicker. As soon as we retreat back into the tippy tappy bollocks we surrender all momentum. There's number 3.
AlexLaw76 Posted 4 December, 2024 Posted 4 December, 2024 Just the 3 goals conceded in 33 mins classic Russell Martin can’t wait to understand the level of scar tissue we have built up 1
