It won’t be in there, but I was rather hoping there might be a clause in his contract that withholds his salary for all the time he is unavailable for selection due to needless sendings off.

No mention of course of stripping the hair pulling twat of the captaincy, he shouldn’t play again for a very long time let alone wear the armband he let himself and the team down massively this evening the utter cock.

Totally agree, should never captain Saints again. Disgraceful........

Did anyone really expect anything different tonight? Made even worse by an absolutely idiotic "leader" throwing his team mates under the bus. Martin can't really legislate for that,  nor injuries and suspensions, nor the previous crap recruitment.

Wood, Aribo, KWP, Archer, Fernandes, Manning all did reasonably well, but 10 men vs Chelsea in their current form is a big old ask.

That said, the prosecution is that you have to adapt, and playing a way which risks gifting 3 or 4 goals to world class teams each week is never going to work.  And more damming is the judgement of character to deem Stephens the model pro leader, especially after he did the same thing vs United. JS has a lot of apologising to do.

Lots to ponder, even though the result is little surprise.

My worry is that sacking Martin isn't going to keep us up, therfore what will it really achieve in the medium term, given the big re set which will come in the summer anyway, because let's face it. We ain't staying up, even though our best eleven are really not a million miles off it, without the suicide football.

Good for him. It's probably a huge ego stroke for him. These stats are probably plastered on his wall as all that matters -

Ralph had his faults, and his critics. (I was a very very reluctant Ralph-out at the very end because it was toxic, he looked broken and he was so badly let down by the recruitment) But I would wager that he would have this squad at least competing for and winning more points than we have now. We’d still go down but it would be a much closer thing and the footy would be more enjoyable. Hey, at least we would get leads in games even if we inevitably couldn’t hold on to them. Better than this absolute tripe. It pretty much literally can’t get any worse. We could put a random person in the street in charge and the worse they could do is lose every game. That’s not worse. That’s the same. And you know what, it could actually improve.

they wont change anything. See you saturday for more of the same

If we appointed Ralph tomorrow I'd be delighted. That's how much I can't stand RM.

No point reading anything into that game. We played alright before the sending off, and with our B team practically out.

Stephens should have the captaincy stripped, pure stupidity from him and completely unprofessional.

Hopefully on Saturday we get back to something similar to the Brighton team and we'll get something from Villa.

I don't get the anger against Stephens. He allways puts the club first.

After finally understanding how hopeless our plight is with Martin in charge, he took one for the team, pulled some lovely curls to help nudge Martin out the door

What a cunt. Worse than Jack and what he did again. No wonder there’s no responsibility for mistakes taken.

Jack is a fucking idiot. Stadiums are full of cameras plus there is VAR yet this balloon decides he won't be spotted if he pulls the hair of an opponent at a corner - and not just any opponent, he decides to do it to one of the most devious little weasels in the whole of the Premier League who has a history of play-acting. You couldn't make it up.

Considering we were down to 10 men with such a weak side we actually did better than I thought we would, will be having nightmares about that 2nd goal. Chelsea couldn't believe their luck.

Stayed until the end, almost empty home section,  soaking wet, it's bloody miserable but won't be long now until we're back in the Championship at least.

The board and owner are an embarrassment. To potentially be the worst premier league side in history is a record nobody wants… the club has a proud tradition and sport’s republic are just pissing all over that, just allowing us to go down with manager who’s ego is bigger than the club itself. Martin talks about scare tissue but the scare left after this season will be the most impactful ever. Martin was having a right go at lumley for going long under pressure just before the cock up. It’s all on Martin and the complete cocks running our club. The rest of the league must be pissing themselves laughing.

Why? A caretaker can lose us games just as well. Lose all the games under martin just depresses the fans. He wont have enough credit left next season to manage us, one defeat or draw and he’ll get whatever crowd left turning on him.

Maybe, but I can’t agree with you on Martin. Give Lallana a couple of days with them to prepare for a tough game at Villa and pull the plaster off with the 🤡

They should make girly long haired players tie it up or shave it off.

Same old chelsea cheating. When they aren't cheating ffp by selling the hotel to themselves. To cover the 1 billion pound team. Falling over like their made of glass. Their using any trick in the books. I bet in years to come it comes out that they did a barcelona and bought referees influence too. Bit too coincidental the ref disappeared in the 2nd half

At times tonight we looked great and that was a very beatable chelsea defence.

Its just so annoying that were revert back to suicide football and we didnt invest in better players. Unlike the waster Diaz and Taylor for that matter. We need to bin Jack stephens, hes meant to be captain but thats his 2nd red card this season not the best leadership and example set.

On the radio on the way to the stadium they were discussing managers who were safe in their jobs and upsettingly i think Russell might be one of them due to the wrong reasons. No one else will want the challenge, massive payoff and mostly Championship quality squad. If someone comes in i see us having to sell kwp and dibling to try and refresh the squad and still get relegated cause the damage is too much.

It pains me to say it but the board should have acted at the previous international break. Do something now before its too late though i suspect it already is ......

Ill follow through thick and thin just someone make it easier please.

Well we didn't lose the game before this.

Everyone was expecting us to get thrashed with all the players we have out and in the end we only got thrashed because we were down to 10 men.

Think some perspective is needed. Some of the takes from so-called fans on here and particularly on Twitter is just ridiculous.
