This would be my team.

Lumley

Sugawara ABK Stephens Bree Manning

KWP Aribo Fernandes Stewart

Armstrong Onauchu/Archer

I guess Wood for ABK if Martin refuses to play him.

Very defensive but it gets as much Premier League experience on the field as we can.

We"ll just have to support them like a cup game. No good whinging about this game, just get it out of the way.

Not sure playing with 12 players will make much difference?

Everyone assuming Lumley will play, he didn't look comfortable after treatment on Friday night. There must be some doubt. We are possibly in a bit of a pickle with goalkeepers.

Can we get the game postponed if we don’t have any senior keepers available? Just a thought.

His choice or the clubs? If it's the latter, the club need to explain why. He's the best CB we have.

I would imagine it might be on medical/insurance advice. The club have been royally screwed over by the purchase, although it would appear someone on the medical side didn’t do good due diligence.

With so many first choice players out injured or suspended, the writing is on the wall here, which often with Saints mean we come away with a plucky draw.

3-3. Crazy came of two second string sides.

Yeah we‘re getting absolutely pumped.

You say that every time, didn't you predict 4-0 one of the recent games?

Mind you, with all our absences that may well be the result this time, so as long as you don't say 'I told you so'..

It can be the case that teams with a lot of injuries and suspensions manage to dig out a result. Probably because they go out to park the bus and get lucky on the break.

Or am I just trying to find a shred of hope to cling on to?

Probably. 4-0 or 3-2 or 1-0 or 2-1, it doesn’t make a blind bit of difference. We’ve won 1 game from 13 so expect many more of these predictions with our Russ is charge.

Maresca's Leicester side schooled us for 180 minutes last season and he seems to have got Chelsea in their groove now too.

Ah well, we can all but hope.

Fuck me, what a back four that is.....🙄

Out of those available (and don't include ABK) who would you select?

Er.....you've just named 12 players  ! ..Did you hope the referee wouldn't notice,  or ?

Weakest back 5 , including keeper, we'd have fielded in a league game for how many years?

Probably since the Championship relegation to league one, so 16?

We need all the help we can get.

Besides, with the number of players Chelsea stockpile, they're the one club who would like to be able to play with more players at a time. 🙂

Russ is hopeful Onuachu will be involved and that Bednarek should be in the squad for this

Was it just me? Was there a pause in the middle of the presser? Went off and came back on a few minutes later. RM getting snippy when asked if he was kicking himself.

Don’t loaded questions piss you off too? He deals with them in his way, which is not for everyone but hardly worthy of note.

Southampton B vs Chelsea A...should be a giggle.

Either an incredible performance from out-and-out underdogs to cling on to a 0-0 draw...or 0-6 Chelsea.

I don't think Wassisname the Chelsea manager is someone to let us off the hook by playing his B or C team. Think he'll get 3-0 up with the A team then swap out players.

Naturally, am hoping I'm wrong...

…and those swapped out players would walk into our first team.

Why not put a load of balls with the all the squad players' shirt numbers on them in a bag. Then roll then balls around, pick the balls out and the first eleven picked become the team.  Rather like the draw itself!

We managed to loan the only one who wouldn’t! Typical.

Code for neither of them even making the match day squad.

Third match in a row on Telly and this one (relatively) free. Compelling viewing even from behind the sofa. Past caring about the result as long as the palyers play with a bit of spirit and pride.

Maresca says playing us will be toughest test yet....  🤣

It wont Enzo but you know that really because you schooled Martin twice last season with much lesser players.

Hilarious that these managers talk such crap

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca warns that Southampton will give Chelsea their toughest game of the season despite sitting bottom of the Premier League table.

This is ongoing joke between the PL managers......keep giving RM praise and keep him lost in his delousions.

0-0 best result for Saints but realistically 0-5 as we won't have the capacity to get forward, create something unpredictable and dribble past chelsea players. I can see a VAR red card also and more terrible decisions.

Formation 1-6-3-1 once the game is in 10 mins.

My son is a season ticket holder but recently moved from Southampton to Bedfordshire. Does anyone have any recommendations where to park for a less congested quick getaway to get to the M3?

There's probably quicker ways out, I find parking in the Bedford Place car parks (multi story is never full) is a relatively quick way out to the M3 either via the Avenue or Hill Lane.

Yep, it's on Amazon Prime so if you've taken out the free one month promotion to get free postage for the Christmas presents, then this a bonus. Just don't forget to cancel the subscription before the month is up.

I agree it’s not the result that matters anymore as by my reckoning we have won two games out of the last 27 in the PL.

We won’t win tomorrow but am hopeful we will see another win before the season is out and we head back down again.

I was reading an article in an Irish paper that Bazanu is still some way off a return so that’s something at least.

Russell Martin’s red and white army (repeat)…..
