It is very stupid by Stephens but i do think its odd that its violent conduct.

How is deliberately pulling somones hair not violent conduct? I know he made the most of it as players do

Another self inflicted defeat then.

How much more does Martin have to watch to know his way doesn't work?

Give the injuries etc and the quality of Chelsea (and budget) you've got to expect a defeat.

But it's the manner of it that's disheartening.

In patches we played some good football. However, the charity that is presided over by Russell gifted them two goals and then his hero Captain Jack kicked him in the nuts by getting sent off for something as stupid and ridiculous as hair pulling like a fucking girl. Madness at any level.

We could do with Nathan Jones back. Is it two premier league wins since he went?

In nearly a year's worth of Premier League football.

That's just........ Well, it's something.

Ramsdale, McCarthy and now Lumley all trying to pass the ball into midfielders when they have players on them.

Definitely haven't been told to play like that. Why would anyone think they have??

Looking on the bright side.  Stephens will not be effing things up for the next 3 games.

Plus side I'm clinging to is this is Russ's last game.

Clinging so tightly.

funny how Lumley is playing the same passes as McCarthy.

Different players making the same decisions, obviously neither of them have a football brain

Martin will give the fans shit in his interview about how we were good going forward so deserved praise instead of boos.

Nope. All 4 keepers have independently chosen to play this way. No coincidence  just bravery, progressive bravery, trust the journey of bravery!

That's actually really funny.

I feel quite sorry for most of the players out there that are being let down.

Manning has had another very solid game. There's a useful player there. KWP and Fernandes quality. Aribo doing his job very well. Archer looks good. Bree and Wood certainly haven't embarrassed themselves.

But it's ultimately a waste of time.

Stephens is a prick who could have spent his entire career in League One quite easily.

Good to hear a chorus of boos at half time

It was pathetic really. The crowd really need to show the board how fucked off we are with everything, and a few half-arsed boos won't cut it.

Its insane to even think they've been told to do it. It's clearly just the goalkeepers making individual errors, not what theyve been instructed to do.

Damage limitation second half. Chelsea can get as many as they like.

It's been a while since we lost 7-1. Could be more though.

Genuinely reawakened that 9-0 feeling. Can we top it with a double figure battering?

I agree with this. Utterly fucking brainless. What a cunt and he’s supposed to be captain setting an example. Total fucking wanker.

What is even more stupid he does it to Cucurella one of the most slippery sly niggly conniving players in the league.

Deserves  that Red alone for being so effing thick

So frustrating!it’s not martins fault when a keeper makes a suicide pass and Steven’s pulls hair… with VAR! So stupid!

Give it a fucking rest. 9 goals conceded from unforced errors this season, the next team has 5.

I have lost count of the number of hospital passes that Lumley has played tonight, at least 5 , although I am not following it that closely. Can't ever remember having a player Sent off from our own corner. Strip him of the  captaincy,  prick.

I suppose a shitshow was predictable that we would have problems when 6 of our 8 pl players are absent, but WTF!

It was exasperation from me but I agree it was dumb of Stephens. Just trying to remember the last time we saw a VAR referral for pulling hair.

A stat came up that Saints are top of the table in giving the ball away to create goals for the opposition.  9 so far this season.

It won't even be close. Bet we are close to the record for over a season already.

If Cucurella doesn't go down rolling around screaming that isn't given, that's what pisses me off.

Eight theoretical points behind 17th place after 14 games.

I cannot watch us, every game the pundits are laughing at us passing the ball straight to attackers.

Awful feeling that Martin is unsackable, as it surely would have happened before now and he’ll be leading us into the 25/26 Championship season.

I doubt he will be giving a press conference. Lallana if he’s there might be covering them instead, will likely be in charge at the weekend.

Think it might be 10 now.

Also 65 corners taken, no goals.

Maybe someone has to look at interference by players surrounding corners, its bloody stupid, but Stephens what were you thinking?.....positive side Woods has been decent so far.

Looking at the positives We never lose we win or we learn we have learnt an awful lot in that first half

It's harder to play against 10 men so we've got a great chance in the second half

only one of our goals conceded came from a goalkeeping error

9 goals this season have come from mistakes, so the vast majority of the time we play it out we dont concede.

The record low points is still on

Breaking our own record defeat is still on

Martin is failing which means he's going to be better in the future for it

Things really are looking up.
