Big Ron fan Posted 29 January, 2009 Posted 29 January, 2009 (edited) Craig Johnson is an inventor. Newcastle in 2000. It was during the fuel strike, so I guess there was a chant about that. I remember it being played on a really warm sunny day while there was crap weather in the north. There were certainly chants of "Here for the weather! You're only here for the weather!" Keith Cassells joined with Mark Wright. Ronnie E officially left due to an ongoing injury (back was it?) Edited 29 January, 2009 by Big Ron fan
Hatch Posted 29 January, 2009 Posted 29 January, 2009 6. shot from the kick off 7. Patrick 8. keith Cassells ????
Hatch Posted 29 January, 2009 Posted 29 January, 2009 I've had a vision from above.... (or some would call it a text from Durleyfos) 4. 'What a waste of petrol'
Doctoroncall Posted 29 January, 2009 Posted 29 January, 2009 3 - Ronnie left due to a back injury, he wouldn't go for surgery as recommended by the medical staff at Saints
Doctoroncall Posted 29 January, 2009 Posted 29 January, 2009 Of course, Keith Cassells! He also came from Oxford Utd... didn't quite make it.
Bailey Posted 29 January, 2009 Posted 29 January, 2009 (edited) 9 - Wayne Bridge I believe. Not sure how many games he played consecutively though. EDIT - Just done some research and 113 matches is what I've found. Also says the record ended in 2003. Edited 29 January, 2009 by Bailey
Hatch Posted 29 January, 2009 Posted 29 January, 2009 Wayne Bridge played most consecutive Premier league games, I'm sure he missed some cup games during that run though. So I reckon it is someone else.
Sergei Gotsmanov Posted 29 January, 2009 Author Posted 29 January, 2009 No its not Hatch. I thought it was Bridgey

woodford1971 Posted 29 January, 2009 Posted 29 January, 2009 Crai Johnstone invented the Predator football boot
Big Ron fan Posted 29 January, 2009 Posted 29 January, 2009 Bridge held the record for continuous Premiership games on the pitch without missing a minute by an outfield player. Began at home to Boro under Hoddle (1-1) and finished at home to Liverpool when we lost 1-0 under Strachen. I think Frank Lampard subsequently beat this record. In the old days, it was quite common for several players to play every game of a season. Villa famously won the league in 1981 using only 14 players all season. I'd imagine there must be several Saints players who've played more continuous games than Bridgey? Is that right Duncan?
Big Ron fan Posted 29 January, 2009 Posted 29 January, 2009 Q5 I remember Arsene mentioning Matty's great technique after that goal. Was it someone like Van Basten's shooting that he compared Matty's with?
Victor Posted 29 January, 2009 Posted 29 January, 2009 Doesn't say consecutive 'Premiership' appearances. Would it be David Armstrong?
Sergei Gotsmanov Posted 30 January, 2009 Author Posted 30 January, 2009 Posted it on the wrong thread All correct apart from Mathew Harding got Matty to sign an autograph as the players marched off the pitch and then pretended that he had signed a contract raising the signed paper to the Chelsea fans Wenger compared Matty to Platini
ericofarabia Posted 30 January, 2009 Posted 30 January, 2009 Nice job matey ... can we have some more please. Beats the hell out of demos, bankruptcy and takeover freds.

Fowllyd Posted 30 January, 2009 Posted 30 January, 2009 Doesn't say consecutive 'Premiership' appearances. Would it be David Armstrong? I'd have said Armstrong, on the basis that there actually was football (and life) before the Premiership.
