Russell Martin is just the unluckiest manager of all time with the most mistake ridden team that ever there was. He's so helpless I feel sorry for him. His world class gold standard tactics and selections destroyed match after match because of things that definitely aren't his fault. The guy can't catch a break 😪 He's been really unlucky with all the 60+ goals all his sides he's managed have shipped every season 12

We'll be leaving Southampton about 4pm so I'd imagine we'll arrive in Brighton about 6:15pm to 6:45pm. Park n Ride, use the Mill Hill one as it's close to the A27/23 junction. Parking in the city costs a pretty penny, parking at the Park n Ride is free. Leave as early as you can getting through Arundel and Worthing can be a bloody nightmare, especially on a Friday. 1
notnowcato Posted 26 November, 2024 Posted 26 November, 2024 This should be a good game. Albion are very unlikely to sit back and wait for an error. Expect we'll be under a lot of pressure, much live Liverpool, but that does allow us to break on them. Their squad is far superior to ours, we'll need them not to be at their best to have a sniff of leaving with any points. 1

North of the train line at Portslade should all be free, south of the line they have light touch permits and some paid options using PayByPhone app. Hove has a decent size car park, probably cost around a fiver, forget Brighton. Stations to the west of Portslade I believe will be free, possibly not Worthing. 1

BarberSaint Posted 26 November, 2024 Posted 26 November, 2024 I think this will be a comfortable and boring 2 or 3 nil to them. We might sneak a goal but I expect a lot more possession and fewer shots in this one.

We'll do the same things, make the same mistakes, lose again, and then I'll have to hear that smug, gaslighting twat wave it away after the game as though he's somehow not responsible for making us a complete laughing stock. We're basically relegated already - which before the end of November is quite an achievement - so it's not about going down anymore, it's just about pride and at least having a go at looking like a credible Premier League football team capable of winning the odd match. But if no-one at the club cares enough to change anything about that situation and actually give us a chance of at least saving a bit of face, why should I care either. Yep, me too. I don't think I've ever stopped caring about a season in November before. We have no chance in the cups, we're relegated already... I was watching Sunday but I pretty much just shrugged when their 3rd went in. Completely expected it and the manager clearly doesn't give a shit about the club compared to his 'principles' so while I'll always be a saint, right now caring about the club too much would just give you blood pressure problems. 16

Osvaldorama Posted 26 November, 2024 Posted 26 November, 2024 What’s the point? We will concede early from a mistake. Then concede a couple more from a couple more mistakes after Martin has made a couple of trrrible substitutions Then Martin will call us brave and say something like he’s really proud of the fight we showed to keep the score down to just 4-0, and how bravely we stuck to our principles. Oh and somehow it will be the fans fault, or individual mistakes and nothing to do with the system, no sir 1

Chewy Posted 27 November, 2024 Posted 27 November, 2024 I appreciate it’s all a bit irrelevant as a) we’ll bravely lose and b) no one can pick what the tombola will decide, but any thoughts on a team? I assume Ramsdale, Bednarek and Lallana are all out along with Smallbone. I also gather Ross Stewart is a couple of weeks away. Stephens will obviously be there to lead Ross’ charges, displaying bravery and ineffectiveness in equal measure. I guess something like McCarthy KWP THB Stephens Manning Aribo Downes Fernandes Dibling Armstrong Fraser some odd choices but I’m trying to second guess the weirdness. Could just as easily see Bree, Larios or Taylor randomly played. Who knows, maybe BBD? Been a while since we last saw quite how inexplicably immobile and sh1t he is. Whatever happens, we’ll get two out of the following three: bravery, possession, points. Wonder which 2 1

I've no issues with him Aim to move the ball quicker, and cut out the crap at the back. They are a better team, and more than likely will beat Saints. However if RM puts out the strongest team, and tells them to focus on avoiding the mistakes of the previous 3 months, then there is a chance. Won't happen of course. Partly his ego and partly, probably instructions from above, to showcase the squad, as they need to sell them. Edited 27 November, 2024 by macca155

die Mannyschaft Posted 27 November, 2024 Posted 27 November, 2024 Draw at best. The Liverpool game highlighted the problem of passing back to a keeper who makes saves but not FC24 type skills fir outfield players. Is big Paul out, he held ball up well and dribbled passed a few players which we need.

It needs personnel and tactic shift to clear the air if we go down with a couple of wins and say 10 points The Luton situation this season is a bit odd, they had by far the better PL season than either of Burnley or Sheffield United - but both Burnley and Sheffield United have recovered fairly well and are well in the auto race. Luton nowhere to be seen, but realistically they were fortunate to be promoted and it was one of those ''once in a lifetime'' things for their fans to experience - they were pretty poor quality/depth wise and I'm surprised players like Morris and Adebayo did as well as they did in the PL, as they are fairly bog-standard crap. I'm sure the club will develop off the pitch on the back of their single season, but I doubt we'll see them anywhere near the PL again in our time. Edited 27 November, 2024 by S-Clarke 2

There are some shining lights in Fernandes and Dibling, but the rest just bring down the entire standard sadly and it's made it a bit of an up hill struggle, well more of an up-Everest style struggle. Insurmountable. 1
