Simply put, a must win if we want to have any hope of staying up. The 5 after this are hidious.

Will the Everton game by Martin some time or will a loss here mark the end with international break following...

When is a 6 pointer not a 6 pointer? When it has no impact on the PL survival of either. 🙂

Hopefully, we'll have a bit of a bounce from the Stoke and Everton games. It means we're probably going to have to make the best from few chances. But fancy Archer to get us a narrow win.

That’s the spirit!

It’s not my own work, saw it on the group chat and it made me laugh.

The home crowd were right on the backs of the players and manager at the weekend, we need to start well for more of the same. They’ve got some quality players though and I’m surprised they’re struggling as much as they are. Need a big result ahead of a tough run

Out of our 10 game game period of adapting to the premier soccerball league now so a win is guaranteed  let’s go the Southampton Saints and show the watching world the Wolverhampton  wolves are just sheep in fancy dress 👊👊👊👊

Wolves are looking like a team that can't buy a win at the moment, in fact the only way they could get one is to come up against a club that is set up in a way that means they are treating football like a New York performance art piece directed by Terry Riley.

One where the aim of the game is to demonstrate the futility of enjoyment by repeating the same passage of play on infinite loops, testing the crowds ability to stay awake and engaged, and reducing the spectacle to parody.

Fortunately for them then they're in luck as Martin and Sport Republic seem to have taken on just that brief.

Wolves away, what's to say? A club that invented European football but also has the honour of being the longest serving club in the english second division ever. Obviously Saints will never break the first record, but under the steady guidance of Martin the second is there for us to beat, and this game is a step in the right direction to achieving that.

Molyneux itself is a proper football ground, with real ends and an inspiration for the NORTHAM WALL (tm). On the downside the away end is also the worst in the league, long and spread out down the side.

The plus side however is the away end is far enough away from either goal that the Saints away support will be perfectly placed to watch all of our play with the ball as we spread it sideways and backwards across the midfield for what feels like an eternity.

So predictable and dull is the way Saints play under Martin Sisyphus himself would choose the boulder over watching us (and most of us would prefer to watch that too).

Usually with RussBall the sensible money would be on 74% possession and a 3-0 loss, but i'd imagine Martin's reaction to Saints actually winning a game will be to double down on us wastefully giving the ball away to Everton by putting it in the net and drop all recognisable strikers and keep it tight.

So a 1-0 loss it is then. Which is probably a good thing due to the fact that Wolverhampton is such a shithole you can't even invoke the 3-0 rule properly as there's no pubs that'll let you in.

WE PASS IT SIDEWAYS ON!

They haven't won yet but they've had an incredibly tough opening set of fixtures. Their first ten games have been Arsenal, Chelsea, Forest, Newcastle, Villa, Liverpool, Brentford, Man City, Brighton and Palace. That's all the current top six and not far off the entire top ten.

Now they're through that lot they will see this as an absolute must-win, and they're at home, so the pressure is right on them to get a result.

Their crowd turned on O'Neil at the weekend, giving it 'you don't know what you're doing', so we need to use that negativity against them.

The first goal will be really important. If they get it, it could be a killer if it gets the crowd behind them. But if we can score first, then keep the ball, slow things down and shithouse them a bit to frustrate them, then the mood could get ugly and that can only help us.

The exact moment the penny finally dropped for me that he was never going to get any better. Watching it back, I think that's comfortably the worst miss I've ever seen at any level of football. So mind-meltingly bad that it almost defies the laws of physics.

Let's enjoy it in full shall we.

Their first win of the season that was.

They're a much better team than their position but they do like to play Russball.

0-0 or they'll go crazy and 3-0.

I watched them play palace and they were absolutely atrocious. Worse at the back than us.

They were terrible defensively but they still created some very good chances. Cunha is a a top player.

If we can be solid enough at the back I'm hoping we can knick it as no doubt they'll be going all out for the 3 points - there will be gaps.

Looking forward to this. Hoping our away support might be up for it given we finally got a win under our belts and as others have said if we can score first the home crowd will surely turn which should increase our chances of a result.

Only downside is that I'm in the middle of the stand so will be watching the game from somewhere near Walsall.

7.15am train was cancelled so very much looking forward to the 6.15 🥲 into Birmingham in time for Breakfast ffs.

Bit of a naff away day, albeit it’s a cracking old ground with a bit of atmosphere. Our record is shite and Wolves haven’t won a game so we all know how it ends, unfortunately.

Wolves are almost identical to us in style of play. Definitely a winnable game if we can get the crowd to turn on them. This is an absolute must win to have any outside hope of survival. Hoping the win on Saturday gives us a spring in the step and a bit more fluidity to our game.

I knew our record v Wolves was bad recently but it's even worse than I realised, bogey team that even managed to beat us with 10 men against Nathan Jones side

Remember the glory days when we beat the 6-0 up there and Marek Saganowski got himself a hatrick? Andrew Surman pulling the strings in midfield, Leon Best leading the line, Had Rudi Skacel signed yet? Pele at the back for us, Jermaine Wright in the Jack Stephens shoe horn role. Roared on by 1500 fanatical supporters whilst the subway army pulled up their Burberry scarves into their hats to slip off unnoticed as the DEF strolled around the city unchallenged.

If we are to go on a run, now is a very good time to reinforce the excellent win on Saturday with another victory, unlikely as that may seem to some.

I am going to stick out my neck and forecast 1-0 win to the Saints.

Relegation is not a certainty by any means for either of these teams but on balance from what I have seen this season, Saints seem to have the better credentials to progress.

Thankfully there have been no sightings of fat ladies so far in the Northam.

I'll never forget the lack of effort he put in v Chelsea in the FA Cup semi final, always had potential but never seemed to have the right attitude when a Saints player

Will be man of the match for sure.

Apart from the awful misses from Adams, the other thing that strikes you (as you relive that frustration) is we would be better with Edozie playing on the left wing rather than the near certainty of Manning.

Archer is going to enjoy scoring against those dour Black Country boring bastards.  And we’ll get a fucking skate sacked in the process.

Dibling has to start.  He’ll rip them to pieces.  Sugawara RB, KWP LB, Manning and Stephens to make way.

Don’t give it the old clever bollocks Russell.

Didn’t the dastardly b4stard get sent off the last time we played them to give them the advantage of being 10 men against us under NJ?

Thats taking cheating to a whole new level.

Let's not forget Gav falling on his arse and gifting them a goal. Also, lovely to see a Saints player skinning his man and stretching play rather than stopping, turning ponderously and passing backwards.

Those who believe in RM is believing that we have started our unbeaten run.

They haven't had a look at the fixtures from here to Christmas then. We may have got 3 points last Saturday but the performance did nothing to convince me that we are a  worthy Premier League team. We relied on Ramsdale playing out of his skin and a VAR decision to get those points. Wolves have had the toughest away games in their history. If anyone is going on an unbeaten run I put my money on Wolves. Taxi for RM!!!

Relied on one of our players (who repeatedly said  RM's the reason he is here) playing well and an offside goal being disallowed, er ok.

Imagine if we lost, would you accept someone making excuses saying it was only because one of their players was good or cos we weren't allowed to score illegal goals!

Enjoy the win, this squad isn't getting loads this season!

Hands down the weirdest game i've been to, we won 6-0 but were definitely the worse side on the day. In fact it just seemed like every single shot we hit went in. Can't say i've been to another game ever where we won by so many but probably deserved to lose 🤣

The locals we're NOT happy that day after the game either

If that was played today, VAR would have changed that result somewhat 😅

Some great finishes in there tough. Forgot about Saga's second.

Even a nice little bit of skill from Skacel to force the OG for the second one.

Although with the way it bounced between his legs before he turned his man - I'm not convinced that was entirely deliberate.

He was generally so anonymous for us after all that hype.
