NewYorkSaint Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 No Downes = feeling down. ...and maybe going down. too sad.
charliemarriott99 Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 He just has to go, his style does not work for a struggling team like us. im liking the passing and possession but WE ARE ALLERGIC TO URGENCY AND ATTACK 1
LGTL Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 Absolutely fucking pathetic. Defies belief how bad that was, especially second half. For god sake please sack the prick. 4 1

Lighthouse Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 Just 8 points behind Man Utd in the title race. 3

OneMrsWallace Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 Just seems both SR and RM have completely underestimated what is needed to compete at this level. And I'm not even talking about winning, just being competitive. They have one chance now, right now, to possibly change this by bringing in an experienced manager who does at least know what's needed. I promised myself I'd try and enjoy this season even if we were relegated - but I assumed we'd be competitive, show some fight and spirit and a plan that meant we might not go down. How naïve if me 🤣 9
bugenhagen Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 Not good enough. Goes for both the game, this season and Martin. This game was really not that different to the win against Everton. Simply not good enough. 1
Saint NL Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 It would have been so different if Ross Stewart weren't made of glass 😢 2

Zorba Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 That’s pretty conclusive. We’ve played the shittest team in the Premier League and lost convincingly without a single shot on target. WE are now officially the shittest team in the Premier League. Will we officially be the shittest team EVER in the Premier League. I think we probably will. Our squad is poor. Our strikers are ALL shit. Our manager is a clueless twat. And we’re all stuck watching this shit indefinitely because our board have been duped into believing RM is the football messiah and don’t have the balls (or cash) to admit they got it wrong. What a mess! 8 1
OttawaSaint Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 So, if our owners actually want to try and stay up, RM has to be sacked this weekend. If not then we will know that they have some other agenda. 7
Vancouver Saint Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 Enough now. Please give us a better manager and better players. 70% possession - 0 shots on target. The RM way. Yes, Flynn Downes injury unlucky, and a bad VAR decision against us, but we didn't set up 'brave' dear Martin...you set up to repeat the Everton scenario...contain and try to win in the last 20 mins bringing Dibbling on...that got blown in the second minute. Got what we deserved. Again. Bugger all. 2
geoffnut Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 What another disgraceful performance from this bunch of losers. If the manager is not sacked and we have don't have a change of tactics, then I don't think we will win another game this season. 6
davefizzy14 Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 (edited) We should have made our dominance count in the first half. Second half was not good enough, we didn't create enough. Edited 9 November, 2024 by davefizzy14 1
gammon cheeks Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 10 games ...20 games ..30 games ..nothing will change with this idiot in charge ! Bottom of the table is where we will finish, with the lowest points total in Premier League history . 5

saintstowin Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 2nd half sounded terrible. Lots of things we know being pointed out by the commentators. Worst start in our history now, not just since football was invented in 1992. Says it all.
OttawaSaint Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 Just watched the goals from Brentford vs Bournemouth and 4 or the 5 were from decisive forward movement of the ball at speed. If you pause the action at the start of each move it looks much like when we have the ball in midfield. But, we then slow it down and go back to Bednarek or THB and refuse to make a positive pass to a forward who is making a run. Those teams score goals and get points. We...don't. 5
LGTL Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 Wolves don’t beat any other PL team today. We are the worst team in the league, and one of the worst in its history. It’s a fucking embarrassment and Martin should be ashamed. The utter cunt. 4

AlexLaw76 Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 Martin on BBC This is football All about how we respond We wanted to dominate the ball, but started really badly We limited them to 8 shots but lost 2-0 we need to do more with the ball in the final 3rd There were a few interesting referee decisions, but I cannot blame that But we had so much of the ball My feeling is that it was not a foul for the disallowed goal, maybe even a penalty I did not see if it was a foul for their 2nd goal It was disappointing, but we should do more ourselves. 1

Slightly erroneous take on it as Manning did have two efforts, one just off target and the other disallowed because of VAR. I'm not saying we were good, not by any means, but we did have a couple of reasonable shots. 1
Francis1947 Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 I think we are now in the depths of despair to see what is happening with our football club underthis Manager and his " strategy " What happened here this afternoon, you could have repeated probably 20 times this season and last. The endless possesion, the number of passes and the utterly complete ineffetiveness of this utter dross to even be competetive, let alone to actually win a match. The numbers speak for themselves don't they ! 70 % possesion, hundreds of passes and not one single shot on goal. And all against a side that havent won and had more goals concede than any other side. Southampton FC, a club that I have supported for almost 65 years is being crucified to satiate the ego of this man ! Some pundits will say how pretty we looked at times when we played our delicate triangles in our own half and maybe old Pep will comment on how he approves of the way we play the game !!! But we the fans have to suffer this. When he goes.....and surely, surely he must go now.....he will depart with a fortune and go on to manage another sucker club who will believe for a while in this disciple !!! And we will be left with an utterly broken club. I really do fear for us now. We could be relegated with a record points total. Our reputation will be destroyed and it might take years to rebuild. I utterly bloody despair of this !!!! 14 1

S-Clarke Posted 9 November, 2024 Posted 9 November, 2024 Totally bored with this team, there's nothing to get behind and nothing about us at all. All this talk of process and philosophy is fluff for not being good enough. Last week was just as bad, we won, but it was very poor. I struggle at this stage to see where this season starts, it's just going to be a really big test for us fans as we are on the highway to a humiliation season without a doubt. Today was as bad as it's been this season, against another truly terrible side. We are just a pointless team to watch. Relegation is pretty much confirmed at this point, we just need to make sure we don't set any unwanted records. That's the only target we can realistically have now. I'm not even looking above 20th because it's pointless. We can sack the manager if we want, but it'll make no difference because SR's decision making doesn't belong on earth. 7
