I didn't watch the game against City last week and instead spent the afternoon with the wife. Watched the midweek Cup game and wished i had been with the wife instead. (She was in Liverpool on a works jolly)

At the moment i'm leaning towards spending the afternoon with the wife again tomorrow.

Very wise ☺️

When is RM’s presser?

Let me quickly ask the chatbot...... Thinking.... Thinking.... Computer says

I think you are looking for player information. I don’t have any information on that topic. If I misunderstood, please rephrase your question or reply with GUEST SERVICES for additional help.

Which leads me to suspect we've repurposed a hotel reservation chatbot for our homepage which is an incredibly Saintsy thing to do.

Don't know but if you fancy playing presser bingo these are the things I expect to hear;

We've had a good week and the boys have worked incredibly hard

We'll try to be the team that we want to be

We're going to be brave

We should have more points than we have

I'm proud of the way the boys are sticking to the program

We won't change the way we play

I don't take any notice of the noise - the owners are backing me and that's all that matters

Very likely indeed. It’s a case of filtering out the same old bullshit and finding some actual; meaningful content!

Obviously it's very flattering to be linked with a club like Manchester United. It shows how well regarded our approach is. But I've made it clear to the owners that I have unfinished business here.

This is a must win to redeem what little hope we've got left. I really hope Martin stops fucking about and takes a practical approach to this game.

RM said "we're enjoying it". I'm sorry but they should be gutted with the start to the season, not having a jolly. The fans certainly aren't enjoying it. He's an absolute weapon.

Shit, he really said that? What a bellend. I hope the fans let him know tomorrow in no uncertain terms that they aren’t enjoying it. It’s really up to us fans to try to force the morons at the top to end this lunacy.

He seriously deserves some shit for that - but I expect he'll still get clapped off by a number of fans when we get soundly beaten by the dugout pioneers.

This will not happen. Martin has always said he will not change. Let's see how "close" we are and how much we "enjoy" tomorrow.

24 hrs from now and we will all be sweating bullets. Good times.

Best way is to laugh it off - the manager and board have set out their stall and Dragan will have to underwrite all of the losses which arise.

SR regard us fans as plebs but it turns out we know rather more about what works as a mid-lower PL club.

Everton will be too strong for us mentally….that should see them home. But at least we don’t have the totally incompetent A. Taylor reffing.

I also think they'll win the physical battles because they are quite a big side in comparison to us. If we play the usual, slow turgid stuff and keep recycling the ball just to maintain possession it could be a tough afternoon - we'll  need to get at them and move the ball vertically and quickly rather than horizontally and slowly.

Sean Dyche's presser was infintely more astute and informative than any I have heard from Martin. The man has his feet firmly on the ground and knows how football should be played in the PL.  If the Toffees ditch him  then why not bring him south?

Everton are doing well under him now and it's not difficult to understand why. They will be far to good for us tomorrow and we risk being tonked 0-4 .

Doubt this will be the last hurrah for Martin though, what degree of humiliation will dislodge him escapes me.

He’s fucking gaslighting.

He's as mad as a flippin hatter if he really believes the crap he comes out with at PCs. Delusional and insulting to his audience.

If we are more direct and less negative at the back we could win but we would have to build on that. If we play our usual way and scrape a win it is welcome but only prolonging the agony.

RM will be schooled by Dyche. Everton will get in our faces and close us down not giving time for tippy tappy stuff.  We give it away and they go score. I can see a comfortable 0-2 loss. Man City want to play perfect football and score perfect goals. Everton will just get stuck in and win ugly and easily. Won’t give us the space that City did.
We won’t be ‘brave’ and Everton won’t allow any ‘process’ nonsense. Goals win games, we won’t get any.

Sean Dyche has way to much experience and tactical nous for RM. Everton may not be much better than us at all, but he will know how to approach the game. The only way we win this is if his players have a total off day and we play top of our game.

Sadly i think it will be 0-2 Everton.

I think we can probably win today.

All relegated teams win some games, they don't win zero. This is probably one we can and will.

And then we can sit back and watch the open top bus parade "he's proved you all wrong" lap of honour of the Martinettes on here celebrating 4 points from ten games like it's some triumph of a managerial genius.

Blackpool got 13 points from their first 10 Premier League games which is mainly why Ian Holloway was subsequently appointed the manager of Bayern Munich.

Btw just a quick reminder to those below and others so obsessed with RM that he’s just the manager, the game isn’t just won or lost because of who the manager is and having him as the manager isn’t the only thing that matters. Just insane levels of obsession on here.

This!  This is so true!

If the team bus driver has an off day that will defo affect the team.  Also if the cleaner misses a cobweb or two, that, right there, is devastation for the passing stats.

No way should the manager ever be singled out, no siree!  He's just there to look good, have a fantastic beard and stroke the grass in front of the technical area.  Nothing else.

This in spades. I can’t wait for “ARIBO IS OUR MARK ROBINS” and “REMEMBER, FERGIE WAS JUST ONE GAME FROM THE SACK” from some of the cretins on here if we, you know, actually manage the impossible today.

You’re dead right. The manager has next to no impact on the result. Oh no. None at all.

Although saying that, we’d do fucking better with literally nobody in charge, so you do have a small point I guess.

So if we win today you are saying it has pretty much fuck all to do with Russell Martin.

Let's see how you and others hold that position if we've won by 5pm tonight.

Even more so now you've told me it will have nothing to do with our manager, we agree he is completely replaceable.

It makes for a better world when folks agree 👍 👍 👍 🤝

Except I didn’t say it has nothing to do with him either way did I? I made the point because some people seem so emotionally invested in him that every good or bad result will ultimately be a judgement on him. It’s extreme and probably part of an unhealthy English football culture ultimately but your responses just seem to highlight the extreme nature of it all, it can only be all his fault or nothing to do with him. Nobody seems capable of actually finding or even exploring the nuanced truth in the middle.

I will still maintain, that the football is turgid, and boring as fuck, and that RM has not got a clue how to coach a team to defend, or attack.

Yeah you’ve said that twice now. Well done. And just for clarity, I’ll laugh at those who have been and will continue to be so definitive in their views on RM being a terrible appointment. And if we don’t win, I’ll continue to laugh at them.

You are rapidly earning the mantle of the Black Knight of the forum….and there’s a trickle of competition too.   Thanks for the clarity.
