Wilde receives death threat

I don't always agree with Adrian but that was a valid point.

Sadly, some cretin has just lopped off a big chunk of the moral high ground the fans were standing on. Not fair but that's how it goes.

And the police probably have a different attitude to the protest now.

We have been looking for investment for a few years now long before any threats were made to Wilde and in that time we would have been percieved as a normal bunch of fans. We are not the reason investament hasn't been secured.

Now its a point of argument whether these actions will put future investors of, personally I doubt it as most people will just see it for what it is a one off loon. As will the Police on Saturday.

Now if someone could put Crouch's face in there, then we might be talking!!!!!!

The thing I don't like about this is the way us Sotonians are being blamed, when it's those rowdy Channel Islanders giving us a bad name.

Where's Bergerac when you need him????

Has anyone realised that this news has come out nearly a week after the event? I used to live in Southampton and i knew what was happening before the victim did! (mind you my father was a detective in the new forest) I also lived in Guernsey for a few years and know that this kind of news would be across the island in hours along with the story about Mrs Bloggs turning her white washing blue!! Believe me this would be big news in the Channel islands!

I smell a rat!

Interesting

Yes when you re-read the article:

The threat to kill the multimillionaire businessman was made just hours after Saints boss Jan Poortvliet resigned from the club.

Makes you even more suspicious that this allegedly happened last Friday & gets made public now - 2 days before the march.

this has got to be the most moronic post I have ever seen on here.

I have no problem with the gallows humour etc, but to genuinely think death threats and two attacks on his family home is hilarious -you must be some kind of immature idiot.

SSSHHHHH now Mr Fence sitting non-opinion!! Don't take life so seriously. Wilde and Lowe should expect a back lash from their conduct. Whilst I don't condone it, I don't have that much sympathy for them. They've ruined our club. Now some people have gone a bit far but get over it. FFS.

hilarious, should expect a back lash?

death threats, two attacks on family home.

you have the perspective of a stroppy kid so don't think will take your advice.

This is a funny thread, and to laugh make jokes about it is one thing, but to actually think it is funny that it happened and saying they should expect it is condoning it.

Its a f ing game, entertainment, grow up

Theres no evidence to suggest the attack on his jersey home was related. It just doesn't make sense to think it's related.

The same goes for his gates being rammed at his New Forest home. Oh it was after we'd lost a home game - FFS we lost at home every week!

It's far more likely the Jersey attack was a local issue and the New Forest incident was an attempted burglary.

I don't disbelieve Wilde got a death threat but the timing of the release of the story smacks of spin.

Grow up? Sorry Dad! I bet you're a riot at dinner parties! TBH, I don't care if you take offence. Lighten up. It's not as though Wilde's in a basement, being tied up & tortured. Wilde (& Lowe) have acted like a pair of power hungry tw*ts & shown no respect for the fans or club & in football (like Sugar, Ashley, pretty sure Lowe wouldn't escape, etc.) you get slightly p*ssed up, over zealous or over excited fans doing all sorts of bizarre things. I found it funny. The fact if he came to a game, he'd be killed...sent via e-mail!

It's hardly as though some crazed Saints fan climbed onto the roof of St Mary's overnight & built a remote controlled, high powered rifle turret trained on the Director's box...maybe they should!! (that was a joke!!)

I find it funny cos Wilde is such a jumpy, scaredy coward! You don't see anyone else kicking up a media storm cos a few isolated incidents of vandalism &, more than likely, empty death threats!! Stop watching so much Ruth Rendell!!

Lol. That reminded me of the infamous Pulp Fiction scene.

Always a bad thing when it comes down to threats like that. Of course, the strange irony is that Michael Wilde once sent me a letter threatening to destroy my football club. Of course, in those days we called it a manifesto, but the effect was pretty much the same.

Didn't the guy who ran Saintsforever get threats and glued locks when things turned nasty online? Might surely be the same person/people? Surely if this was an episode of CSI, the police would be able to find the culprit by finding who bought bottles of superglue around the time of both crimes. This would, of course, narrow things down to one possible suspect and he'd admit to doing it straight away, thereby tieing up the case within an hour. Personally, I'd like it to be more like an episode of Columbo, where we'd see who did it and then wait for Columbo to catch up to him/her. You could safely turn over or pop out to make a cup of tea in the middle of Columbo without missing anything vital.

You mean like so called fans who won't attend as long as Wilde and Lowe are at the helm? Priceless.

How things have changed three years ago Wilde was the messiah

Three years ago, in the University Bar, Wilde catagorically stated that Lowe would never return to the Club as long as he (Wilde) was there.

Little things like that tend to turn people against him

Exactly like JUDAS, the Betrayer

Obviously, it was Poortvliet ......... did the envelope smell of Edam or Gouder ??

Fans can be such *****s sometimes. No wonder people stay away from investing.

Post 11 and its all back on the fans again, i knew it, brilliant!

The club has been after investment for years, yet 1 idiot sends a cyber threat and its 'the fans fault' there's no investment!

Funny, can't remember any investment coming when us fans were lorded as "the best in the world" for the cup final, or for filling Dellhurst park. Year after year our fans are some of the best behaved home and away (police arrest reports) YET NO INVESTMENT!
