Alfie House reporting the Sylla deal has collapsed now, as well. So, we sell Amo-Ameyaw to Strasbourg and they then go and strike a deal with another club for Sylla.

absolute clowns running this club

Were the deals related in any way ?

Just hope we didn’t make concessions on the SAA deal (% sell on etc) expecting them to be reciprocated for Sylla.

Guarantee we did.

Who is actually responsible for negotiating deals after the target has been identified?

Even if we have a DoF in place, would that rest with them or someone else at Bosrd level ?

I’d have thought that the deals would be separate, I can’t see why you’d include clauses which are based on a different deal for a different player. In the unlikely event that there were some concessions, they’d surely be predicated on a deal being completed, not just the fact that you’ve made an offer.

Shambolic stuff as per recruitment-wise.

Maybe we'll have to give the best CB in the club a chance now?

Stephens ? At least he wants to play for us.

I assume SSN are ramping this up as one of the greatest, dramatic deadline days ever?

It seems pretty null and void from what I've read. Sky Sports website is mainly reporting on SPL and random lower league loans.

I rate him so would be pleased with this if true. Not quite Prem quality IMO but will be excellent for us next season.

It's a fake account. Nothing to see here.

This is the thing, we don't really know. The sooner Spors is appointed the better as we will have proper football expertise in place. I thought the Sylla deal was definitely happening, thats frustrating.

But that’s part of the question. Even if Spors was with us at DoF would the negotiations fall within his role ?

Definitely preparing for Championship then. If true.

A total WUM account, nothing to see there.

But out of interest, why wouldn't we be preparing for the Championship? It's the most sensible thing we can do at this stage, which is why I'm somewhat happy we've not blasted loads of money around in a vein attempt to stay up - which has been over for months.

The guy has 96 followers btw.

But his profile tag line says ITK! Why would he put that in there if he wasn’t a legitimate source of news?

May be pure bullshit or may be repeated from elsewhere- who knows. Either way a sensible signing if this is legit.

Not disagreeing that it’s the thing to do.

Most sensible thing we can do at any stage is improve the squad in the immediate term and longer term at any given opportunity.

The idea that you get to the prem, get half way through and just sack it off is far from sensible however bad it is for a variety of reasons but not least because fans, players and coaching staff all need to be motivated to bother for the next few months and beyond, including next season. No idea of that circumstances that have led us to not improving in the two main areas we need to this month but not doing so deliberately would be a monumentally absurd choice.

Ipswich spending another 5m on Palmer. Their net losses must be seriously racking up this season. I can't remember a material player sale they've made for a number of seasons.

Is there anything that isn’t absurd the way the club is being run this season? Batshit bonkers amateurs from top to bottom recruitment to ticket sales is beyond a joke.

I do agree with this  whilst I guess you can see it as wise and realistic that the club are not throwing around stupid money trying to save the dead season, I find it pretty shocking that the club practically threw the towel in as early as December really by persisting with Martin and to follow that up haven’t even tried to rectify the damage ..  it’s absolutely pathetic really and gives juric no help whatsoever .. they’ve just pretty much sat back and done fuck all

It's also odd that we sent Cornet back but didn't sign someone else on loan instead.

I know Cornet was never going to play but at least use that loan slot on someone who could potentially help us.

Given that he’s trotting around Stamford Bridge as we speak, I’d say it was never likely.

Brilliant insight from the guy outside Staplewood on SS News just now, commenting that Bazunu hasn't played a single minute for the first team this season.

No mention of the serious injury that has kept him out for the best part of a year.... 🙄

Didn't expect us to spend deadline day bolstering the U21 ranks.

given the amount of "bolstering" to the U21's i predict we'll win the champions league 2029/30..... its the Southampton Way...

The money we save will come in handy when we want to loan a guy to get us over the hump next season.

TBH I’m actually alright with the business we’ve done. Welly looks a tidy player, Gronbaek is a risk free loan, we’ve sent the useless Cornet back, loaned BBD out for Championship game time and got a half decent cheque for Sam Amo. Nothing we did was really going to make a difference; we’ll beat Derby’s total fairly comfortably but still be solidly on the bottom of the table come May.
