Would suit all parties as a loan but I think he’ll be useful for us next year.

Very interested in Ben Brereton heading back there, or quite frankly anywhere.

A huge waste of space. Sadly it’ll only be on loan.

As we are very likely to be Championship club in 6 months, he'd be very useful next season as he has shown he can be prolific in the Championship (36 goals in his last 80 games often from playing out wide). It is the summer after our next promotion we need to sell him as he isn't good enough for the PL.

In his last two Championship seasons he’s scored 22 and 14, which I’ll take as an option with Archer and Armstrong next year. I’d certainly rather keep him than Stewart, who would have people standing around him with a big green tarpaulin if he was a horse.

Needs retiring this summer, voluntary or not. With the helpful stupidity of Rasmus, Wilcox and Martin, him and his agent have swindled enough money already.

We have a squad packed with players that are top Championship level. Even if a few leave (Ramsdale, Dibling & Walker-Peters being the most likely) we still have depth to replace them.

Archer, Stewart, Brereton Díaz and Armstrong have all caused big problems for opposing Championship defences, so would Onuachu if he stayed.

Sure the squad is out of its depth at PL level, but with the current squad and the income advantage we have over 21 of the other clubs it isn't overly optimistic to see them challenging for an automatic spot.

Hmm, whilst the signing of Stewart is undoubtedly frustrating for everyone, I don't lay any blame at his door at all, and certainly don't think he's swindling money. Sure, he's probably very comfortable financially, but I'm sure he wants to be playing football and isn't faking or causing his injuries on purpose.

Lets be honest, he was offered a contract by our inept scouting/owners, and as a club we have to honour the financial of that contract. Same with Larios.

The ire and annoyance shouldn't be directed at Stewart at all, but the muppets and clowns who instigated the transfer and offered him the contract.

If we can include a requirement to buy should they get promoted, that would be good. We need to try again, and hope the next striker can score goals to get us promoted and then make a decent fist of it in the Prem.

Won't happen in January. He will wait until the summer and see if a Prem side will take him. No point in jumping ship to a side that might be in the championship.

Imagine the club may want to sell and at least recoup something for him given we now have no chance of staying up. Not necessarily Leicester but wouldnt be overly suprised to see him move this window.

He could definitely do a job at Leicester but I don't see him joining a club in a relegation battle. Might just as well stay where he is ..

the club won't have a say. The player holds all the cards. If an established Prem side came in, then maybe he'd go now, but not sure too many clubs are desperate to sign a right back in January.

Two reactions to recent comments on this chain:

- KWP is one of my favorite players of recent years and I would dearly love him to sign a new contract.  But I would think chances are zero given imminent relegation.  So it must surely make sense to cash in this window.  I would delay the sale until last few days of Jan in case we, by some miracle, collect two or three wins this month and if so it’s worth hanging on to him and let him walk in the summer in return for outside chance of staying up.

- On BBD, some fans still haven’t learned lessons from last season.  Having booed Armstrong on n relegation season he was top scorer in championship, something which his track record showed was likely.  Why on earth sell BBD when he is very likely to be a real asset next season?  Loan him out if needs be until summer.  Then sell f we go up, sell both

I don’t disagree with any of that. But you gave the impression promotion was a certainty. With Juric I think we’d have a good chance. But not if he leaves and Rasmus gets a chance to make another of his idiotic appointments.

It could happen. He should be tempted to return to a club where he had a good scoring record and will get games. At Southampton he is not even getting any gametime. He would also be swapping a club that is getting relegated to a club that may will be promoted into the PL (possibly on the back of his goals).

An idiotic appointment such as Juric who you think we would have a "good chance" of promotion with? Or the last guy who actually got us promoted?

Someone can pick up a real bargain in with KWP, even in January. I can see him ending up somewhere like Palace, Fulham or Brighton, he’s versatile and would be cheap even just as cover.

Kerkes is rumoured to be a target for Liverpool in Jan so, although he’s a left back, KWP could be seen as a cheap option for Bournemouth.

I thought he'd end up at Palace when I saw how shite there RB is the other day.

Wherever he goes, it'll be with blessing. He always given 100% for us.

No way we're letting Kyle Walker-Peters leave until relegation is confirmed.

He is far too good for Palace or Brentford but Fulham a possibility on current form.

They would be mad not to take the money in January. If we dont get millions for him now, we get nothing in the summer. It will be a plain business decision. I cant believe KWP will do enough in the last part of the season to be the difference. Hes not the best defender in the world but is a good attacking one

If there is a realistic chance we could get £5-10 million for KWP now and he's happy with it then we'd be silly not to accept it. We are going down regardless.

What about Jesse Lingard? Young player with lots of potential. Could benefit from a more low-pressure environment with Saints than he had at previous clubs. Currently having a laugh out in Korea.

He really is not as bad as people think. I watched a lot of him at Blackburn and given the right support and played in the right position he could still be an asset for us next season. He is a player who thrives on confidence, apparently and at present because of the way he was treated by Martin he is at a low ebb indeed.

The only type of player who will come to us this January is an older player on his way down looking for a final swansong or, a young player yet to make it in the PL who fancies a crack. Neither fills me with any hope but we are, because of our position, hardly an attractive proposition. We have a Board who have unquestionably presided over two of the worst seasons in our 140 year history and a recent recruitment record that is literally gruesome. We really do need to get back to basics and regroup this summer, but I fear the new manager will be off when the break clause comes up. It's a shame because off the pitch the current owners seem to have a vision but we lack a real football man in amongst the hipsters.

He really is. One of the worst players to play for us since Ali Dia. Literally looks like he’s won a competition.

I agree we should loan him though, in case we need him next season. Him and Adam Armstrong show just how big the gulf in class is as neither are anywhere near PL standard.

Posted (edited)

Unless Villa are in for him I don't see KWP accepting a move to Fulham or Brentford level club.  When he's available on a free he'd likely get more offers with moves to bigger clubs.  Maybe even a CL level team

He looks out of his depth in the Premier League, but his quality is that of a top Championship player. We have had a very large number of players since Ali Dia who were not at the level of a top Championship player. Also it does not 'literally' look like he's won a competition.

I’ve seen better players down at Sunday league. He can’t trap a bag of cement. His touch is about 10 yards ahead of him every time.

He’s slow, always in the wrong position. Just all around shocking player. Not sure why you want to defend such a toilet player but go off, I guess.

Id sell him and Sulemana in a heartbeat personally. If we can’t find better than these donkeys I’d sack the entire recruitment team too.

Hyperbole! Let's not go to extremes and look at this rationally.

He has scored 36 goals in his last 80 Championship games (often while playing out wide). Sunday league players can't do that.

He is out of his depth in the Premier League, but would be a very useful player in the Championship! Same can be said for pretty much our entire squad bar a few that have PL quality like Ramsdale & Walker-Peters and a few others.
